The Contenders: Page 15
"Good bye everybody, I've got to go. Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth. Mama I don't wanna die, but sometimes wish I was never born at all" that line made me cry, nothing described my feelings at the time like that line that
If you listen to the first 2 minutes of it, it makes you wanna cry. The song isn't really the best but gets better. It's still depressing!
What this is bohemian rhapsody
A beautiful instrumental that needs no words to express the pain felt in this song. Listening to this song takes to the land of darkness that this blues man endured without uttering a single world. Only a Slide Guitar and some moans. A perfect example of how actions speak louder than words.
More than anything else ever recorded, this tune reaches down inside and pulls something out of you. It's simultaneously one of the most difficult and rewarding experiences, listening to it. I can't make it through without choking up; it's what I imagine dying sounds like.
When I was scrolling through the list I realized that this song is way too depressing to be at 31. So very sad and emotional, even sadder when you hear how he died.
It is a very beautiful song, but the music sounds so sad.
Beautiful, Carey shows her sadness
Sad but very beautiful lyrics and sound. One of the greatest songs ever..V 1 Comment
My Aunty had leukemia and this was played at her funeral. I've never cried so hard, and every time I hear this it makes me ball.
I hate how great songs slip through the cracks on lists like this. This absolutely deserves more recognition.
Makes me cry every time I here it.V 3 Comments
This song starts out with some faint guitar sound, slowly crescendoing and then Maynard's vocals kick in. His lyrics are very meaningful in a way. The last part of the song where the guitar sound gets bigger is complemented by the "halo slippin down" lyrics, which convey a sad, deadly feeling. - NuMetalManiakV 1 Comment
This is one of my favorite songs of all time, I cannot believe it's not on the top 10!
I can't believe this isn't here, this song brought me to tears, because of its meaning and how I relate to it, it is about someone who is depressed, and just wants to go to sleep, to escape from all the harms that he faces everyday, and he doesn't wants to get up, he doesn't wants to face all those horrors once again, even though he knows he has to, this relates and make me think abaout suicide, (the same happened to myself) and the way he tells his loved ones that if he doesn't wakes up, if he dies, to don't feel bad for him "because in the deep of my hearth thast were I want to go"
Ps: I am not a die hard fan of the smiths, actually that's their only song I like
Through the whole 7 minutes, you hear in every part of the song, lots of sadness. Starting out with the guitar riff that forebodes a feeling of loneliness to it. Myles vocals kick in, and they are low (in terms of pitch) to complement the sadness. When it picks up at the chorus, its lyrics ask for the titular blackbird to fly away, biding farewell. The song's guitar solo creates a sad embrace as well. At the end, the same guitar riff as the beginning plays, closing the song just how it started. Very sad song indeed, and actually dedicated to a man named Mark Morse. - NuMetalManiak
It's so depressing... But very beautiful...
It's about a kid who committed suicide. This is an extremely sad song.
That's a sad song! Because it's telling your lover that you want him or her lying in your arms so that you're in heaven! :'(
Should At Least Be In The Top 100
It is the song of doing what you hate one last time before fnishing horror. - AnonymousChickV 2 Comments
