The Top Ten
1 Charlie Pace (Dominic Monaghan) - Lost Charlie Pace is a fictional character on ABC's Lost, a television series chronicling the lives of plane crash survivors on a mysterious tropical island.

He was such a great character with so much nobility and good intentions. Unfortunately you don't think a character like him is supposed to die but when he does it's terrible. I think this should be way higher up on the list as his death was not just depressing but emotional and empowering as well.

His death had me crying for like six episodes! Because you knew it was coming but not exactly when, and then it happened and it was heart breaking! To me it was the saddest death on Lost, and that is saying a whole lot because they had a heck of a lot of sad deaths!

2 Debra Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter) - Dexter Debra Charlotte Morgan is a fictional character created by Jeff Lindsay for his Dexter book series. She also appears in the television series, based on Lindsay's books, portrayed by Jennifer Carpenter. In Lindsay's novels, she first appeared in Darkly Dreaming Dexter and was featured in every novel... read more
3 Allison Argent (Crystal Reed) - Teen Wolf

It was unexpected and very sad. What got into me while watching her final scene was when Lydia screamed her name and when she died in Scott's arms.

I still cry at the sound of Lydia's cry out to Allison.

4 Robb Stark (Richard Madden) - Game of Thrones Robb Stark is a fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels by American author George R. R. Martin, and its television adaptation Game of Thrones.

The KING in the North Rip. Nothing is sadder than Robb's death. He lost his father, assumes his brothers are dead, and his enemies have his sisters. On top of that he gets backstabbed in a marriage where he loses his wife, unborn child, pet direwolf, mother, and some troops in a brutal manner.

The King in the North RIP, He was our king! He was brave and good and the Freys (along with Boltons and Lannisters) murdered him.

5 Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker) - The Walking Dead

I've seen the top 3 deaths on this list. Charlie Pace's death, Rita Bennett's death, and Debra Morgan's death were all really sad, but Merle Dixon's has to be number 1. He was the best character in The Walking Dead, brother of the second best character Daryl Dixon. I cried when this guy died, RIP Merle :(

Merle was my dude. I even liked him st the beginning, he Kant it real. I was super upset when the governor killed him and that scene with Daryl crying over him was one of the most upsetting things in television history

6 Hodor (Kristian Nairn) - Game of Thrones
7 Rita Bennett (Julie Benz) - Dexter

This without a doubt HAS to be number 1. I was so sad when she died. And the show isn't the same without her.

8 Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) - The Walking Dead
9 Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) - Doctor Who
10 Brian Griffin (Seth MacFarlane) - Family Guy Brian H. Griffin, popularly known without his middle initial as Brian Griffin, is a fictional character from the animated television series Family Guy.

He may have been pretentious, but he had a heart.

The entire world went in to shock.

The Contenders
11 Shireen Baratheon (Kerry Ingram) - Game of Thrones
12 Chef (Isaac Hayes) - South Park

Just so you know the actual actor died, which is why they had this episode.

He was such a ladies man, more than I will ever be.

13 Sophia Peletier (Madison Lintz) - Walking Dead

A little girl tragically murdered by zombies. They searched for her for half a season and then to top it all off, her mother, Carol Peletier, is screaming and bawling, "SOPHIA! SOPHIA NOOO! " And then they shoot her.

Great job walking dead. Killin little girls... And don't even get me started on Lizzie and Mica... Oh. My. God.

14 Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer) - Lucifer
15 Jon Snow (Kit Harington) - Game of Thrones
16 Eddard Stark (Sean Bean) - Game of Thrones

I cried my eyes out at this scene. He didn't even get justice and that god damn Joffrey is still king!

Of course. Sean Bean dies again.

17 Mike Delfino (James Denton) - Desperate Housewives

"I seriously thought that would just be a plot twist for the new episode, and that he would have a surgery and be okay. Then I saw the next episode, and he did actually die. Okay. I watched it fully, and then I went to take something to eat and I started crying a lot. I'm a guy, but I don't know. Having him since day one, made me feel just like when you lose someone that is really close to you, and you don't want to show feeling publicaly, but then when you're lonely, you fall apart.

I didn't expect that. It was shocking

21 Walter White (Bryan Cranston) - Breaking Bad

I don't know what got to me more, the fact that one of the greatest T.V. shows of all time came to an end, or that Walter White, who had been ready to face death the entire series finally met his end in the final episode ever of Breaking Bad. Looking at his partner Jesse Pinkman during the last few minutes you could tell that he was sad, but ready to die

22 Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) - 13 Reasons Why
23 Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman) - Fear The Walking Dead
24 Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver) - Supernatural

WHY SUPERNATURAL? Bobby Singer was one of my favourite characters - and his death episode Death's Door makes me whelm up whenever someone mentions it. When he's in a coma and confronting his past memories - good and bad - is too sad. He stands up to his abusive father, meets old dead friends, before finally making it back, uttering one last word, then dying.
