Be honest, almost everyone who has played minecraft recognizes this fabled entity called Herobrine. Most of us got scared at some point while we were alone playing survival mode, thinking that something was interfering with the world whenever something unusual happens as we hid in fear, while some of us took the bold attempt to summon him back when minecraft was a little newer. Creepypastas about him especially circulated around since the very old days of minecraft and is still popular today.

3 sonic.exe Sonic EXE., also known as Sonic exe, is an alleged cursed version and format of the classic game Sonic The Hedgehog. The original story is about a teenage boy named Tommy or simply Tom who suffers supernatural delusions and hallucinations.

Here we have another creepypasta but in the Sonic fandom. Sonic but the opposite of his personality. For those who don't know, the creepypasta was written back in 2011 by a user JC the Hyena whose friend mailed him a copy of Sonic. As he started the game he caught something that's quite out of the ordinary, until he was met with a horrifying version of the Sonic game. The creepypasta spread throughout the fandom especially during 2013 to 2014 until it slightly died out in a few years. Recently it was popularized again out of the nowhere, probably because the author of the creepypasta turned out to be a predator and a furry later. In result this spawned memes and variants of the creepypasta along with the creator being memed on.

4 Slenderman The Slender Man is a fictional supernatural character that originated as an Internet meme created by Something Awful forums user Eric Knudsen

If you belong to the older or middle group of Gen-Z, you probably heard of a story of a young girl almost being killed by Slenderman back in 2014. In reality, two friends attempted to kill her while in a sleepover. The motive was caused by the entity ordering them to kill someone in order to become worthy for him. As the creepypasta was linked to this incident, panic ensued. As Slenderman was believed to stalk people even for years, many people believed that it was real due to him causing paranoia.

Remember the times when you discovered a glitch or an oddity such as a chunk error in minecraft or a world-generated feature resembling a cross in the first time, and your first thought is that Entity 303 or Herobrine was haunting your game, and you had to delete your world so that nothing bad further happens? This was another classic creepypasta from Minecraft whose behavior resembled much like of Herobrine, but considered a new version of him.

8 Jeff the Killer Jeff the Killer is a creepypasta usually accompanied by a picture of a white face looking in to the camera smiling in an unsettling manner. The creepypasta is also usually accompanied by the term "Go to sleep".

A classic jumpscare and a known creepypasta. The story begins with a young boy Jeff along with his brother who was approached by three bullies, until Jeff beaten them up. The incident led to his brother getting arrested, which negatively impacted Jeff. When he was bullied again in a party, Jeff killed one of them before ending up burned by them. He was placed in a hospital where he discovered that his face was severely deformed by the burns. When he was sent home, Jeff then killed anyone who stood up late at night. Despite being memed when it was popularized, some of us (when we were really young) believed that it was real the first we stumbled on it.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers encountering these, but in the older internet days you would typically see threatening messages that prompt you to copy and paste their message or something may happen to you in a certain day or time. This was prevalent during late 2000s to early 2010s in certain social platforms like Facebook. Just as we were getting familiar with the internet most of us once believed that those stories are true, and even out of fear pasted the messages to retain that sense of security. 11 Chinese Toy Phones

If you come from either a lower-middle class or below that class, parents would typically buy this as your very first phone as a kid. It had a very limited function besides having a looped ring tone of a song which says "Ai yai yai, I'm your little butterfly". It sounds pretty cheerful and innocent first, but it's a very different vibe when the battery starts running out. This was a very vague memory for most, but really evokes a nostalgic undertone.

These creepypastas are so obscene and graphic, they have whole games made out of it, like the screamer game based around Princess Luna from MLP.
