Simply the best, from skiing, to walking, to shopping, this place is the best!
In North Lanarkshire lies a very good area for walking and generally keeping fit. M&Ds, Scotland's theme park, lies here as well.
Home to many of Scotland's skiing locations, and some of its best scenery; from the lochs and Caledonian Canal, to the magnificent mountains, hill walkers are welcome here.
Very nice scenery here, you can't do much better.
With the beauty of the local beaches, this place can be very scenic. Also note the lovely Falls of Shin, which sadly lost its visitor centre to a fire back in 2013, though a new one is on its way.
With many prehistoric finds, these Island groups offer a nice holiday at little cost. They may be very sparsely populated but they are still very nice places to be.
Plenty of things to do, Robert Burns was born here. From the harbour at Ayr to the wonderful scenery of Loch Doom & the Galloway Forest.
It may be very remote, but Durness is the ideal getaway for those looking for scenery and more.
Especially at Christmas time when the outdoor ice rink is open, this place can be very popular, especially with shoppers.

The only pandas in the UK live here and the zoo also has its famous "Penguin Parade" every day.
I love Edinburgh Zoo! One of my favourite places to go on a daytrip!
