Top Ten Sega Games with the Best Music

What is it that makes the music from the games from Sega so good? Some parts of the soundtracks of a good bunch of Sega games tend to be good. And when I say good, I mean slappingly excellent enjoyable music. Anyways, here are some of the games by Sega that have achieved this the most.
The Top Ten
1 NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams Product Image

Now essentially, a big chunk of this game's soundtrack is reused from the first game from the SEGA Saturn, but a lot of it has been improved an remastered and overall further from sounding empty. Which is great because a bunch of the soundtrack sounds quite iconic, but not earwormed from being too well known as much as, say, Green Hill Zone's music. Highlights include Cruising Together, Electrical Entertainment, and of course, the new and improved version of Dreams Dreams.

2 Sonic Generations Sonic Generations Product Image

It's a neat mix of a bunch of iconic themes and a bunch of properly made remixes. Highlights include the Classic Remixes of City Escape and Crisis City, and modern remixes of Metal Sonic Battle and Chemical Plant Zone.

3 Jet Set Radio Future Jet Set Radio Future Product Image

While I'm not personally a huge fan of all his musical contributions, Hideki Naganuma has quite a cult following in unique style of music. And this game's soundtrack is definitive to his style, as I might say. Highlights include The Concept of Love, Technopathic, and Humming the Bassline

For me probably the best sega game with a deep variety of cool mix of beats all piled up. I'd also put it as one of the greatest soundtracks for any game out there as well.

4 Sonic Mania Sonic Mania Product Image

The homage to classic sonic games truly does step up its level in soundtrack, full of neat properly executed remixes. Highlights include Blossom Haze Act 2, Stardust Speedway Act 1, Studiopolis Zone Act 1, and Metallic Madness Zone Act 1.

5 Sonic the Hedgehog Sonic the Hedgehog Product Image

Now frankly, the music is the only redeeming quality. It just wasn't quite enough to set a better mood than what the tons of glitches presented. Highlights include Dreams of an Absolution, Aquatic Base Level 1, His World, and White Acropolis.

6 Sonic Adventure Sonic Adventure Product Image

The sequel to this is a lot more well loved in a bunch of qualities. Personally I think the music in this game is a lot more cool and neat. Vocals themes may not be very good, I hate a bunch of late 90s pop music and the general sound of it, but the background music makes up for that. Highlights include Run Through the Speed Highway, Windy Hill, Mechanical Resonance, and At Dawn.

7 Jet Set Radio Jet Set Radio Product Image

The original game in the series may not be as great, still has a sick soundtrack nontheless. Highlights include Everybody Jump Around, Electric Tooth Brush, and Up-Set attack.

8 NiGHTS: Into Dreams NiGHTS: Into Dreams Product Image

The original first game in the NiGHTS series scores more with memorable iconic sounding music that doesn't actually hit overplayed status due to this game's moderate level obscurity. The reason this places lower is that it's quite neat for its time, but just does not stand the test of time with advancements of the industry. Highlights include NiGHTS and Reala, Growing Wings, and of course, the original version of Dreams Dreams.

9 Sonic Heroes Sonic Heroes Product Image

This also has vocal themes that are rather lacking in enjoy-ability, and only a few of this game's soundtrack is that good. The few that do are quite memorable. Highlights include Seaside Hill, Final Fortress, and Robot Carnival.

10 Yakuza 0 Yakuza 0 Product Image

Yes, this is where the song used in those deepfake memes came from, commonly referred to as "Dame da ne." The actual song is called "Baka Mitai" and it actually has some neat other music too.

The Contenders
11 Streets of Rage 3 Streets of Rage 3 Product Image

To me, this is Yuzo Kushiro's best music work in any of the games in the video game franchise. His work on this game is quite brilliant yet a bit unorthodox at the same time that it is just so enjoyable and catchy. I strongly recommend listening to his work on this game.
