Most Self-Explanatory Song Lyrics of All Time

"If something's happening... then it's happening! Amazing revelation!" - Rap Critic
The Top Ten
1 "Never let me slip, cause if I slip, then I'm slippin'" - Dr. Dre, Nuthin' But a G-Thang

Haha classic song. Love it

A true classic!

2 "I'm going hunting - I'm the hunter" - Hunter, Björk

Despite Björk, the "Homogenic" album and this song being absolutely great, this line always seemed unintentionally funny to me. I wouldn't have guessed that she is the hunter because she's going hunting. I thought it was because she is pacifist.

There are certainly some songs that can be good despite having a dumb lyric thrown in.

3 "Love Me Like You Do" - Love Me Like You Do, Ellie Goulding

I am always entertained when this song is on the radio. Even if he wanted to... how could he not love her like he does?

4 "My Brother is my Brother like my Brother is" - La Familie, Jay-Z

Oh, really? I thought his brother is his brother like his father's brother's nephew's cousin's former room mate is.

5 "I don't duct nobody but tape / yeah, that was a set up for a punchline on duct tape" - Only, Nicki Minaj

Oh my, without her explanation I wouldn't have got that joke.

6 "I feel like a lady that is pregnant with a baby" - I'm Not a Vampire, Falling in Reverse

Good that he clarifies that the lady was pregnant with a baby and not with a salami sandwich.

7 "'Cause the roadie knows what the roadie knows" - Roadie, Tenacious D.

I knoe, this is just part of the sentense, the entire thing goes "Cause the roadie knows what the roadie knows / and the roadie knows that he wears black clothes", but the whole first line is just so much of a filler it is way more entertaining (unintentionally) than the rest of the song, which is meant to be funny.

8 "You ain't 'cause you're not" - This is Why I'm Hot, Mims

So I ain't because I am not it?... you know, I ain't liking this song, because I don't.

9 "Why you act dumb like uh duh so you act dumb like uh huh?" - Work It, Missy Elliott

Missy Elliott is one of the greatest rappers of all time, and this songs' beat and flow is as much fun as it gets, but this line is just so stupid and out of context (the song is about women being proud of their sexuality, while not being reduced to it), you can't help but burst out laughing. Not only does she besically say "you are dumb, that's why you are dumb", "uh duh" as a comparison is just so silly. Also, the way she pronounced the second "uh duh" as if it had a question mark at the end... is just dumb like uh duh.

10 "She got a big booty so I call her big booty" - The Birthday Song, 2 Chainz

And I thought you call her big booty because she always wears eye patches and loves to cruise around the ocean.

The Contenders
11 "If the light is off then it isn't on" - So Yesterday, Hilary Duff
12 "Bushido - das bin ich" - Lagerfeld Flow, Bushido

"Bushido - this is me".

Okay, let me sum up why this is funny.
Bushido is by far Germany's most successful and best known rapper with an extremely distinctive and well known voice. This song was released in 2012, his debut album was released in 2002, and he has released more than 10 albums in between (including collaborations), not counting compilations and many, many guest verses. Simply put: EVERYBODY (in German speaking territories) KNOWS IT'S BUSHIDO! This is randomly jammed in at the end of one of his verse and is completely unnecessary to say. And he seems so shy and hesitates when rapping the line, as if he's wondering "am I really supposed to say this? ".

13 "Ich Bin Kein Eminem-Verschnitt" - Bad Boy, Kollegah

"I am not an Eminem ripoff"

Kollegah is a German rapper who at first rapped over eurodance-inspired electronic beats and later over epic orchestral beats often lasting unusually long. He is among Germany's most acclaimed rappers, both critically and popularly. He is known for high quality multi-syllabic rhyming, fast doubletime raps, extremely intelligent wordplay and also a certain general knowledge. He influenced the entire German rap scene of the 2010s, making said qualities a trend and paving the way for other big names such as his personal friend Farid Bang or his archenemy SpongeBozz. The German trap as well as the cyber hip hop movement is a counterculture to his style.
Kollegah often portrays the persona of a pimp in his songs, and only has few deeper songs and nome who are really as outrageous as Eminem's Slim Shady. Since he became famous, his style became pretty sinister and menacing. Kollegah is white and is also a muslim, like a large part of German rappers ...more
