Top Ten Best Selling Albums in Germany as of September 8th, 2017

This list is compiling the most commercially successful albums in Germany as of today. The albums need not necessarily be German themselves. Because of changes in the rules over the years, the albums' amount of gold and platinum certifications may indicate a different order.

The top item of the list has sold 3.15 million copies in Germany alone. And may I say that this number one spot is well deserved. The artist it is by is a true poet that managed to earn praise and success with heartfelt and beautiful music that really touched people for decades. This album was released after a dark time in his life when two very special people died, his wife and one of his brothers, and people apparently could deeply relate to his music.
