First three seasons were great.
Four single friends -- comic Jerry Seinfeld, bungling George Costanza, frustrated working gal Elaine Benes and eccentric neighbor Cosmo Kramer -- deal with the absurdities of everyday life in New York City.
The show peaked between the third and sixth season. Early seasons were formative and the last two were so-so at best. But considering the greatness of 1992-96, the end was pretty brutal. A lot of the jokes were forced, plotlines simply stupid (literally pick any one, they all were lame by '97), characters reduced to grating stereotypes of themselves, and the show began relying on tedious cameos. People hate the finale, but the penultimate one, the Puerto Rican Day Parade one, was possibly the worst episode made.
