Top Shredders of All Time
The Contenders: Page 5
The Guitarist of the Wolfgang in the Philippines.
Beautiful player has all the flash while being very melodic
Check the old Stratovarius-stuff and you will know it!
Great guitarist and shredder no doubt!
Incredible on "Out of the sun". One of the typical and best shredders!
Not very well known, but he has some amazing technique as well as speed.
He should have already been on this list so I will add him. Steer is not only a shredder. He plays with so fast with absolute precision. He has pioneered much of what other guitarist are doing and plays to perfection in a variety of genres (not just death metal). Bill Steer is the epitome of the ideal guitarist.
Bill Steer should be NUMBER 1. He has played some killer guitar in Carcass, early Napalm Death, his own Firebird, Gentleman's Pistols, and Angel Witch. To watch him solo is something to behold and to see him shred is mind-blowing. A privilege to watch play live.
The ultimate guitarist. Is there anything he can't do?
Upcoming south african guitarist. He has been playing for under 1 year and can fluently play yngwie malmsteen songs with ease. The futures fastest shredder.
He is already on the list. Plus, never seen him shred.
He's a rif making machine plus his solos are epic
I know he's a very popular guitarist. And some may get angry with my comment but Angus Young isn't a shredder. Shredding doesn't only mean playing guitar fast. Nor only using hammer on and pull off. - zxm
Yep, he is a master showman on live stage, and while performing complex acrobatics on stage, he continues to play wicked leads and never misses a note. I'd like to see these other guitarists do what he does. Not a chance.
If There's anyone who can shred it's this guy AND he can do while running around the stage and lying on the ground etc
Has to be on this list
This guy hails from Ireland... Man can he shred!
I can only think of two guitarists who were sweep picking in the early 70's, and that's Richie Blackmore and Steve Hackett
What the hell? Steve Hackett at the bottom of the list? Some folks have no taste or a clue.
People seem to forget that this guy was one of the best guitarists around during the 70s and 80s. Not to mention the complexity of his songs. If you're gonna put Lifeson and Iommi on this list, you had better put Zappa!V 2 Comments
