Ht's Analysis Grading The NFL Free Agents Team by Team

As you know I did my ranking of the 100 best free agents so let's take a look at what all 32 teams have done thus far, and this post will update as we progress towards the end of the week. A lot to soak in. The NFL has made me a bit more relieved for now of what goes on in our dark times as I speak.

Arizona Cardinals

- Trades

DeAndre Hopkins, A+
Wow what a steal this is, they decided to be given quite a prize for Kyler Murray to have. This offense has weapons. Now get some trench help and you have something special here.

- Received/Retained
Larry Fitzgerald, C-
Doesn't make that much sense. Just another wasted year for a future hall of famer.

Kenyan Drake, B
A very wise tag to put, Drake was very good in the limited roles he was given. More carries between him, and Chase Edmonds looks good.

Devon Kennard, B
Lions freed up cap space in a very surprising cut of a guy who was buying into the system, and once again a team captain was gone. Kennard going to Arizona is very fascinating. They got major depth there. Bringing in a guy like that helps somebody like Hasson Riddick.

Zane Gonzalez, A
He was much better kicking in the desert than he was in Cleveland so why give him the extension.

Jordan Phillips, D
He could be a starter, but could not if Derek Brown or a better option is there for the taking.

D.J. Humphries, F
Should have been a nice easy cut honestly. He isn’t the tackle he was deemed to be when he was selected in 2015. Biggest issue is health. Now you have to deal with it at most two years.

- Lost

David Johnson
That’s a very good casualty, you got your best years out of David Johnson. Slowly now he’ll probably bounce. I don’t expect him to beat out Carlos Hyde/Duke Johnson who fit the running system.

Damiere Byrd
He was a soso receiver who had his moments, but a good cut was made.

The Cardinals seem to be building well so far, let’s see if this can keep on going into the draft.
__

Atlanta Falcons

- Trades

Hayden Hurst, D
I never liked Hayden Hurst where he was taken, and I don’t like him with Atlanta as their replacement for the major loss to Austin Hooper. Character issues, and he is already 26. My recommendation for the Falcons is Tight End to me is still a need.

- Received/Retained

Dante Fowler, A
This is a very good piece to replace Vic Beasley with that edge side. Fowler shows what he could do, and how much more prime he has in him.

Tyeler Davison, B-
I mean he's alright, but maybe he gets better with the scheme, but he was just a guy pretty much.

Younghoe Koo, A
One of the better kickers last season of course you keep him.

Todd Gurley, C-
So wait a minute you're replacing a guy who is damaged goods. With a guy who has an even worse knee at this point in his career?

- Lost

Austin Hooper
Oh this is gonna hurt that offense. Hooper was a top 10 to 5 Tight End last season. To me you should have brought in a guy like Eric Ebron seeing Matt Ryan loves to go to his flashy Tight Ends. Along with Calvin Ridley and Julio Jones.

Vic Beasley
In his prime he was a good defender, but a new change of scenery could make him return to form perhaps.

Desmond Trufant
This will be a major loss in the secondary. Trufant was your best player in the secondary last season.

Wes Schweitzer
This loss hurts knowing that arguably the biggest need for this team will be in the offensive trench.

Devonta Freeman
Atlanta had a running issue, and Freeman’s health looks very much toasted goods.

While retained some positions with a new name in place. Atlanta lost in terms of their offense getting worse i’d have to say. Protection will be brutal for Matt Ryan on paper. He won’t have the 3rd option like he normally would given the chance. They need to find a tail back, I don’t know any of these young backs seeing they weren’t used to their full potential.
__

Baltimore Ravens

- Trades

Calais Campbell, A
This trade they got doesn’t get enough credit. Yes there is the age factor that could play out, but what he brings to that locker room will help tremendously.

- Received/Retained

Matthew Judon, A
It really seemed like Judon was a goner from all the reports. Well we were all wrong. They decided to keep him after all. Major win he made a major impact in a year where they lost some very good linebackers.

Matt Skura, A-
While he did go down towards the end of the season. Skura is a very good Center for the Ravens.

Michael Brockers, B-
Well Baltimore has at least addressed their glaring weakness. Getting Calais and now Brockers to add on the side this looks good.

Jihad Ward, C-
He is a rotational guy who can be capable of helping out the team in disruption.

- Lost

Marshal Yanda
Retired this one could hurt the team in terms of the unstoppable running game they had could be shaken up if they don’t draft that next rock mountain man.

Brandon Carr
A bit of is the age. Although he played good enough in a deep talented set of corners next to him. A team may wanna get a guy if nothing is out there.

Tony Jefferson
Earl Thomas will be there for a while, and losing Tony Jefferson opposite side does hurt a bit.

Michael Pierce
He was okay for what he could do. A loss that doesn’t hurt them.

Hayden Hurst
Good on them getting rid of a guy with his character problems. He is Atlanta’s problem now.

Seth Roberts
He was okay, but had his few flashy moments with the team like he did with the Raiders. He has a shot at being a #3 type receiver somewhere.

The Ravens focus was on the trenches. Between those they did lose, and the ones they gained was very interesting to see. You could see the team not have as good of a rushing attack with the departure of Yanda. They could lose two out of three corners for the one they traded and highly paid for which could end up going for one in the draft. They did very well in upgrading the D-line, acquiring Campbell and Brockers. There’s much to get better at, but this a good start to what looks like a super bowl contending team.

__

Buffalo Bills

- Trades

Stefon Diggs, A+
Granted, they did lose plenty of draft capital, but this looks too good to be true. Buffalo Now has three really good weapons for Josh Allen to play efficiently better with. Stefon Diggs made Case keenum/Kirk Cousins have such a sufficient passer rating when playing for both guys.

- Received/Retained

Jordan Poyer, A+
Poyer is a very underrated safety for the Bills, keeping one of their better players overall retained is a win for a team ready to finally dethrone the Patriots perhaps with a loaded backfield.

Mario Addison B-
That’s a bit of money spent, but Addison was very effective for the Panthers. Maybe it will be worth it with plenty of retooling the need up front.

Quinton Jefferson B
I like the aggressive moves spending up front, and while Addison might have a bit too much. Jefferson of Seattle was a really sneaky good player who fills in major pressure he can provide.

Josh Norman, D
He’ll be the #2 corner to White, and that’s the one weakness in the secondary is opposite to Tre’Davious White. Josh Norman isn’t the guy he used to be in Carolina and it shows.

Quinton Spain, C+
He did a decent job blocking. Granted the offensive line still needs some more help blocking. He was one of the bright spots though.

Star Lotulelei, D
He wasn’t that productive much, and him being re-sign isn’t justified if you draft his replacement perhaps.

Vernon Butler, C-
While he is a Panthers bust, he can revive his career in this type of a defense following his old defensive coordinator.

A.J. Klein, B-
Klein was pretty productive with the Saints, and Buffalo going after him makes sense knowing that Lorenzo Alexander was getting too old. He can fill his void well.

- Lost

Kevin Johnson
Was the previous 2nd/3rd corner on the depth chart, and the way he was used was a mishandled approach. Thus finding a new team that will use him as a number two somewhere else.

Jordan Phillips
A serviceable nose tackle had to be cut too high to keep for the cap.

Shaq Lawson
A failed draft bust who never truly flourished in the awful 2016 draft class.

When news came that the reign of Brady and Belichick would be finally over. Bills didn’t waste time to try and get better fast. Adding a lot of depth on defense, and getting some big names to boot. This is the most ready and built Bills team I have not seen since the early 90’s. This says a lot for a new decade they could rule.

__

Carolina Panthers

- Trades

Russell Okung, C+
He is an okay tackle honestly. I guess he is an upgrade in the left tackle, but can’t say I like entirely with how bad Philip Rivers was throwing the football.

- Received/Retained

Teddy Bridgewater, B
I like Teddy, but so should have waited for the Patriots. That would have been his perfect resurrection with Bill Belichick. Instead he goes to a team that has been famous for not getting a good offensive line. He has a great running, but the average weapons he has... yikes.

Tre Boston, A-
An underrated backfield safety that can provide major help for say a soso corner to work with.

Joey Syle, A
Syle kicked great for most of the season. Took a little dive towards the end. Overall he is their kicker for now.

Kyle Allen, B
He is only good as a backup guy. As a starter with that line he falls apart eventually.

Seth Roberts, C-
Can be a good third option for this team

John Miller, C-
Can provide as a backup guard/starter.

Seth DeValve, B-
They needed to get a Tight End, but don’t be surprised if they draft one as well. DeValve has had flashes of looking solid catching the football.

- Lost

Luke Kuechly
Major loss that affects the team moving forward.

Eric Reid
Surprise cut, now might be chasing after Ron Rivera.

Gerald McCoy
Disappointing in Carolina, anybody want the veteran to give one last shot?

Dontari Poe
Same reasoning for McCoy.

Mario Addison
Kaboom goes the defensive line built up to nothing.

Bruce Irvin
Well it appears he hasn’t been productive since leaving Seattle it seems to be.

Daryl Williams
Their best lineman the last few seasons, and now he explores other teams in need for a right tackle upgrade.

Trai Turner
Dealt him to Chargers. Makes no real upgrade, both guys are similar in technique.

Greg Olsen
Well thanks for your great playing abilities in your prime. Knowing their all gone time to go to canton you deserve it.

Cam Newton
Looks like the Cam Newton era is all over, that throwing shoulder is gonna bother him the rest of his career. It shows in those only two games how much he regressed. What team takes a chance on him?

Colin Jones
Not that good of a safety honestly. A fine loss to go in the market as a backup player somewhere.

Greg Van Roten
Wasn’t that good of a tackle, I guess I can applaud them for getting rid of a lot of their bad parts of the protection I guess.

Carolina looks real weak on paper with a lot of the losses suffered. They got better in some areas. Most positions though there’s a lot to work with to ascend back up the ladder will be for a while. This didn’t help much.

__

Chicago Bears

- Trades

Nick Foles, B
Now this is a message to Mitchell Trubisky who the next starting quarterback would be in place. Granted, the Bears need to focus on offensive line help the most. The blocking was terrible, it needs to be fixed ASAP.

- Received/Retained

Robert Quinn, A
Massive pay raise, but Dallas didn’t quite use him to their full potential until the very end. Robert Quinn could really benefit from a defense like this.

Eddie Jackson, A+
This had to happen Jackson has been a major factor in the secondary of the Bears defense. He had a slightly down year still to pay him well done you still got good years in him.

Danny Trevathan, C
A bit of a surprise they kept him and not Kwiatkowski who played far better. Not so sure about him as a fit in Chicago so much after how it all went down last season.

Jimmy Graham, F
Terrible signing, Trey Burton has proven to be made of glass, and now your gonna bring in a guy who is only good in the endzone, and is nowhere near the guy he was in New Orleans ages ago.

- Lost

Leonard Floyd
Floyd was a bit misutilized in a talented defense, but can thrive somewhere else surely.

Nick Kwiatkowski
This guy was too good to lose, took the place of Trevathan who got hurt, but wasn’t really that good. Yet the backup will flourish with a new team.

HaHa Clinton-Dix
He didn’t really do a whole lot, and thus he was an easy cut for them.

Nick Williams
Just a guy in the trench that was all he was.

I have mixed feelings about how Da Bears handled their free agency. By getting Nick Foles, that is a serious upgrade to replace Trubisky. You have two very rich contracts that will cripple your cap space between him, and Khalil Mack. I’m surprised Ryan Pace would go to this extreme knowing this could be the season he gets fired if this epicly fails. The team I feel got worse on the defensive side of the ball. While Robert Quinn is a good sign, look what’s behind him exactly? You lost half of your monster linebackers. Bears are slowly taking a back step, and Ryan Pace would have to have a great draft to save himself this time. Same goes for a NFC North rival.
__

Cincinnati Bengals

- Trades

N/A

- Received/Retained

A.J. Green, F
Not a fan of them franchise tagging A.J. Green honestly. Should have let him hit the market. Clearly there was something wrong between he and Zac Taylor where he didn’t play the entire season.

D.J. Reader, B-
Well he helps give less pressure for longtime great Geno Atkins. Its solid, but really fixed things in stopping the run tremendously.

Mackensie Alexander, A+
This is by far their best pickup, and a steal as well. He played great in the few snaps he was given. He and the other Vikings trade Purple for Orange, how odd, yet makes for a major improvement over your other two corners.

Trae Waynes, B
Speaking of the other Vikings Trae Waynes is a good tackling corner, coverage can be off at times, but better than B.W. Webb by far.

Xavier Su’a-Filo, C-
Possible starter/depth player is all he is, and that’s what he was in Dallas.

- Lost

Andy Dalton?
Its finally time, the Red Rifle gave you a decade of no playoff wins, and the record sounds a lot like the quarterback I despise in a lot of ways.

Cordy Glenn
An okay tackler who can start for another team that needs it badly.

Darqueze Dennard
Dennard can tackle, but is awful in coverage.

John Miller
Another guy that’s a good cut ties type player being without a construction within the O-line.

B.W. Webb
The worst corner of 2019 ladies and gentleman. Go watch him try to take down Cooper Kupp so bad.

The only positive I have to say for the Bengals is they got better in the backfield by far than what they had the last few seasons. They didn’t give their next quarterback much help at offensive line, losing two of them, and not replacing them per say. They also lost in the trading frenzy when New England came and said we don’t want Red Rifle. Meaning their thinking more for a rookie in the draft. Sure its not to have less pressure for Atkins, but then you go and franchise A.J. Green who clearly wanted out that just seems like bad tensions can happen again for a guy who only has two wins as head coach.

__

Cleveland Browns

- Trades

Andy Janovich, D+
Very weird seeing Browns trade for a fullback, but I guess that’s the way Stefanski wants his offense to be set like.

- Received/Retained

Austin Hooper, B
Major overpay for Austin Hooper who had a good break out year, but can he be better productive in this offense?

Jack Conklin, A-
Interesting, a bit pricey to get Conklin, but if he can adjust well on the left side that’s a major win for Baker.

Kareem Hunt, B
Retaining the running duo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt looks good to me.

Case Keenum, B-
He is a good backup quarterback, not gonna go out and say a starter guy, but for the few games he can play. Keenum can be capable of leading the team.

Karl Joseph, C
Cheap low risk deal, could be Randall’s short term replacement.

Kevin Johnson, C
Moves next to Denzel Ward, a much needed upgrade surely.

B.J. Goodson, D
Don’t like this pickup, you lose two very good productive linebackers, and get the worst linebacker from Green Bay. Gee I know what this team's biggest need will be come draft day.

- Lost

Joe Schobert
This one hurts, Schobert has been one of two players who have been good the whole decade, and have suffered two long now teams will sign him immediately.

Christian Kirksey
He may have not been the same guy for a bit, but He still has some good years left in him.

Damarious Randall
He should be given many offers by now, but will see.

Morgan Burnett
To me, safety can be argued for the team's biggest need. You lose Burnett and Randall that’s very obvious.

Rashard Higgins
Higgins has shown flashes of being a sneaky good receiver. What team shall try and go after him?

Ricky Seals-Jones
Here’s a guy I forgot was even with Cleveland, and yet what team will take a chance on a very underrated and misutilized player of this calibur who is good in the endzone at times.

Greg Robinson
One of the worst left tackles in history, he literally got Baker Mayfield to be all screwed up his second year.

Cleveland really had a major focus on the offensive side of the football. Overspending on left tackle, and Tight End the most. They got some depth players in Hunt, and Keenum. They did try and get some places back on the defense, but ultimately lost bigtime at the linebacker and safety positions. Two areas they once had a strength in are now gone and need to be addressed in the draft.

__

Dallas Cowboys

- Trades

N/A

- Received/Retained

Dak Prescott, A
Well Jerry did exactly what would happen if he and Dak couldn’t agree to a rich deal. He had to use the tag on him.

Amari Cooper, A
This is the richest deal for any wide receiver could get, and he fits their system despite taking a down year. This offense benefits him very much.

Blake Jarwin, C
Jarwin has had flashy moments at best, but really could need an extra booster in this position.

Gerald McCoy, C+
Based on what I saw at Carolina, age caught up to the guy, and you're trading youth for a much older defense up front?

Kai Forbath, A
Kai did very well for the team kicking many needed three’s in the most crucial times.

Anthony Brown, B+
With the departure of Byron Jones, Anthony Brown will now have more of a starting role to work with. Re-signing him helps for many of the losses suffered on defense.

HaHa Clinton-Dix, A
Cheap deal, I still believe he can be good given the right scheme. America’s team has given him quite an opportunity in this backfield.

Sean Lee, F
Don’t like this one at all. You need to get that extra guy who's faster, and not all washed up at this point in his career. Sean Lee isn’t the guy he was 4 years ago. Sure tackles are good to have, but you need to do more than that as well. At 33 I just don’t know about this.

- Lost

Robert Quinn
Big Loss opposite to DeMarcus Lawrence, when the two were on the field they were actually doing good.

Byron Jones
You knew you were not gonna have the money to match someone who will overspend for him.

Maliek Collins
This means your defensive line has been busted up in half, you lose a veteran and a young stud who is still in his prime.

Randall Cobb
Cobb at times looked good in this offense. He’ll get some offers alright from multiple teams.

Jeff Heath
He is a solid safety, but they could use an upgrade in that position.

Jason Witten
Go back to commentary please, or go into the hall of fame.

Despite the major losses on defense, Dallas did a fairly good job at filling in a lot of those missing pieces with what they could find out in the market. There are still other holes clearly, but Cowboys did a much better job than other teams I have seen.

__

Denver Broncos

- Trades

A.J. Bouye, B
Denver got busy alright, this is a sign Chris Harris will not be back with the team. Going in a new direction with Bouye. Let’s see if the scheme is a good fit.

Jurrell Casey, A+
Now I like this trade, while he is in his 30’s he is a very underrated Defensive lineman to have. Pairing him with Dre’Mont Jones looks like a massive upgrade.

- Received/Retained

Graham Glasgow, A
This is a very good signing, you got who can play both Center and guard pretty well when he was with the Lions. Denver is getting a major steal here.

Justin Simmons, B
Had a good outing last season, and it was enough to stay around deservedly so.

Melvin Gordon, B-
The pair of He, and Philip Lindsay. Sounds much better than Lindsay, and Freeman that’s for sure. I like Gordon’s chances to reform to the once guy he was then another player in his draft class.

Nick Vannett, D-
How many Tight Ends do you need. Granted he has talent, but not the fit you would be looking for.

Jeff Driskel, D
He’ll just be a backup, but one of the least ones you would want to be honest.

- Lost

Chris Harris Jr.
I mean yeah he had his worst season in 2019, but Chris Harris is a very good corner in the game. There will be a team that needs a guy like this who can shutdown passes coming to him.

Connor McGovern
With Graham Glasgow signed, seeing McGovern move to another isn’t too much of a surprise. If they kept him though it would have been more clearer where Glasgow could've played on the side more often.

Ronald Leary
Starting to get a little hit on injury so yeah that’s one that was to happen.

Derek Wolfe
There team who would want a stuffer near the middle.

Shelby Harris
Harris can really contribute as a starter somewhere.

Adam Gotsis
Most likely won’t come back, and didn’t really contribute much last season.

Joe Flacco
Well the way he went off in his final game is a clear indication Joe Flacco should not be given another opportunity at this point in his career.

Andy Janovich
The fullback had his moment, odd how you managed to dealt him to Cleveland.

Denver, made some very intriguing moves. John Elway goes after some very solid pieces in Bouye, and Casey. A lot of bold, and good pickups, and others were just why? Broncos are not afraid to be bold, and that’s how John Elway likes it.

__

Detroit Lions

- Trades

Duron Harmon, F
You traded for a backup safety, why?

- Received/Retained

Desmond Trufant, A
Some people are dismissing the move, and I am one who actually likes the fact they got what was left available in Trufant who was the best backfield player for the Falcons.

Jamie Collins, C
He is only good for New England, and this is a typical desperate signing under Bob Quinn.

Halapoulivaati Vaitai, D
Vaitai is only good blocking for running plays. He was terrible against the pass when Carson Wentz had time to throw. This won’t benefit Stafford much on the right side.

Danny Shelton, C-
Like Collins, Shelton was only good in one system. Sure hs is a patriot cast off, but that doesn't mean he’ll understand Patricia’s scheme.

Chase Daniel, C
Chase Daniel is a capable backup, as they actually addressed right away, and not way too late.

Jayron Kearse, F
Why are we loading up on safety for? Does Bob Quinn love his backfielders that much?

Joshua Garnett, F
Technically he was signed during the off-season, and honestly if he is a starting Guard were in trouble. This guy was terrible with the 49ers.

- Lost

Darius Slay
His only weakness is he isn’t the best tackling corner, but is great in coverage.

Graham Glasgow
Good versatility lineman this one will hurt significantly.

Devon Kennard
Release him to free up cap space? That’s another team captain on defense gone.

Rick Wagner
He wasn’t doing elite protection like he was in Baltimore. Good luck wanting a guy who is washed up at this point in his career.

A’Shawn Robinson
The mean look will turn into smiles when he gets a gig somewhere else.

Logan Thomas
A tight end who weirdly had good flashes, but finds a new home elsewhere.

Just because you sign a lot of names out of desperation doesn’t mean it's fixed. In fact a lot of those players that were once very good players have gone to new teams, and have thrived since. What does the culture put for you Quinntricia? You brought in more Patriot scrubs again. You loaded up on safety for whatever reason. The only move that wasn’t absurd was getting Desmond Trufant knowing how much Darius Slay was going to cause so much noise in the locker room. You grossingly overpaid for Vaitai who at best is a good run blocker, but is awful in pass protection. Oh but wait they addressed backup quarterback this time. Give me a break, with the moves they have made the Lions look like a bottom five team still. A matter of time until these clowns get axed, and a true rebuild would begin afterwards. I despise a lot of the moves made, and the draft will probably follow this up, and pray to god the next guy who comes in does it right.
__

Green Bay Packers

- Trades

N/A

- Received/Retained

Christian Kirksey, A
A good replacement for the losses suffered, he’ll be a good fit in this defensive scheme.

Rick Wagner, C+
I mean your only guarantee is you will have a healthier Right tackle, but will he be good in protection?

Allen Lazard, B-
Lazard can thrive in this offense, give him time he could be that number two guy to Adams if you give him more chances.

Mason Crosby, C
A bit mixed about Mason Crosby to be honest, he had that awful seeing missing a ton of kicks, and then the next season he actually did fairly good. Not sure if I would have extended him myself, but whatever.

Marcedes Lewis, F
Yeah don’t like this move, again use your younger Tight Ends. Every veteran you have brought in that position has failed.

- Lost

Blake Martinez
Blake Martinez filled in real nicely as a leader of that defense once they finally got rid of Clay Matthews. Unfortunately the team may actually think of bringing him back.

Kyler Fackrell
Fackrell was a big surprise who actually did well for the team, but maybe unlike Martinez he may not be as dynamic somewhere else.

Bryan Bulaga
Let’s be honest Bulaga has gotten pretty beat up. Now its time to explore who would want you at this rate that needs a tackle of your caliber.

B. J. Goodson
The Packers lose for 3 out of 4 guys in the middle ouch!

Geronimo Allison
Don’t really need to keep him around considering he was hit and miss for the most part.

Packers had little activity in free agency. Very low on cash thanks to the massive pay they gave Aaron Rodgers last season. Luckily they scooped up a quality linebacker in place of the three they did lose. Wagner is not much different from Bulaga. Bringing back Lazard is the right move to get more trust from his quarterback who needs another guy to go to. I don’t love bringing back Marcedes Lewis at all. The last productive Tight End Aaron Rodgers had was Jermichael Finley that’s been long way past. Green Bay needs to please draft offense first, Rodgers is close to his end. Give him another weapon, get more depth at linebacker in which you lost big in. Packers though in my estimation remains the favorite. Unless the other two NFC North teams do well in the draft.
__

Houston Texans

- Trades

David Johnson, F
This is almost as bad as Chip Kelly taking full control of what his team wanted to be. You traded your best player away for a guy who has declined the last few years, and most likely bounced outta the league in a few years quietly. All in the while you already have two solid tail backs, why three?

- Received/Retained

Ka'imi Fairbairn, A
Good kick, earned his extension surely.

Randall Cobb, C+
This is your answer to DeAndre Hopkins? He is solid, but not nearly as impactful.

Bradley Roby, C
Roby was their best corner last season. Yes there is the aging Johnathan Joseph, but this isn’t the best there group either.

Darren Fells, A
Good to keep him around, Darren Fells is a very underrated Tight End who fits what DeShaun Watson wants to do on offense.

Eric Murray, C-
An okay safety there for depth as a backup.

Vernon Hargreaves, F
A Bucs bust who should not have been re-signed.

- Lost

DeAndre Hopkins
What a travesty, trading away arguably your best player on the team is ridiculous.

D.J. Reader
Reader still has some good years left in him, but seeing what they did to Hopkins. Can’t say I blame him wanting out.

Texans is another one I'm very mixed on, while most will say they did a bad job. I’m more of yes they made the worst trade of all time perhaps, but they retained some of their better players and that’s what matters. Still though they only went after one guy who is nowhere near the level of Hopkins, but if they're gonna go with three average receivers route good luck. If this little change on offense ends up hurting the Texas chances. There’s a good chance Bill O'Brien could be fired.
__

Indianapolis Colts

- Trades

DeForest Buckner, A-
A risk of taking away your 1st round pick, but Buckner is a wrecking crew for the 49ers. This benefits Justin Houston a lot.

- Received/Retained

Philip Rivers, B
Maybe a resurrection for Philip Rivers could be possible with a much better offensive line. Gotta give him better weapons if it does work out in what looks like a now or never situation.

Anthony Castonzo, A
Castonzo has gotten better at blocking, the unit as a whole is great at blocking. Good move to re-sign him, and not make him rethink where to go.

Zach Pascal, C+
Pascal is an okay receiver, but needs to do a lot more in this offense if T.Y. Hilton can really benefit Philip Rivers.

Mo Alie, C
Even for a 3rd string Tight End he is very capable to step up to the plate.

Le’Raven Clark, C+
A decent utility lineman they didn’t want to let go. Okay Jim Irsay I see what you're doing. Focusing on the trench.

Xavier Grimble, D
Very limited time he got a chance with Pittsburgh, not sure what many attempts he’ll be given as their new 3rd stringer on the depth chart potentially.

Chaz Green, F
Wait, they signed the same guy who gave up six sacks in one game with Dallas?

- Lost

Eric Ebron
A fair loss if they still believe Jack Doyle is the long term answer. He is very outspoken that’s for sure. Many teams will want to take a chance on him.

Adam Vinatieri
Most likely retries, great career for a kicker worth canton.

Brian Hoyer
Although he was bad in a brief game or two, he still deserves to be a backup somewhere.

Colt focused more on trench stability, and also going in very cheap for players on offense such as getting Philip Rivers. The addition of DeForest Buckner will really benefit Justin Houston. They could be the new duo of Freeney, and Mathis years ago. They didn’t lose too much, and maybe this helps their push to being a rising contender to the Titans, and Texans.
__

Jacksonville Jaguars

- Trades

N//A (Major draft picks stocked up)

- Received/Retained

Yannick Ngakoue, A+
For now this quite a shock, Yannick wanted out, but instead they chose to keep him leashed, and get rid of the veteran. Next time you better pay this man the money he deserves.

Joe Schobert, A-
On all tackler nose chainer in the middle, definitely got some room to get that offer convincingly. He and Myles Jack will surely anchor the defense.

Darqueze Dennard, C
He can tackle, but is bad against coverage. Too much for an average corner.

Keelan Cole, D
He is okay, but they could use a better upgrade at wide receiver at this rate.

- Lost

Nick Foles
Jacksonville is doing the right thing here dumping the money on their top 2 guys hoarding it all. Trading them away was all you could do. Nick Foles leaves a legacy of one of the biggest free agent busts in history. The amount he was given was staggering.

A.J. Bouye
With Jalen Ramsey out of the picture, so would A.J. Bouye. Time to restart at corner. Let’s see who can fill those spots. Oh right an average corner and who?

Calais Campbell
Well losing a lot of core veterans hurt a lot. Campbell is another one of those.

Jacksonville dumped the two most expensive players (Foles, and Campbell) to other teams I can respect. They were able to keep their young stud in yannick after all the controversy, maybe they wouldn’t. Well this GM they have has been able to score some great picks so this is an important draft for Jacksonville to capitalize with virtually on the verge of starting over with many great defensive players gone. Jaguars are the favorite to be last place with three other teams just far better at this rate.

Chris Jones, A
The Jones tag helps tremendously for your Defensive line to still be rock solid to add in more depth.

Andrew Wylie, B
Wyile did well as a guard helped block efficiently especially in the super bowl game when Damien Williams went off.

Chad Henne, C-
Personally I would have kept Matt Moore over him, but whatever I guess.

Mike Remmers, D
A backup tackle who could come in for either Fisher or Schwartz.

- Lost

Emmanuel Ogbah
Its a notable loss knowing that he stepped up big time towards the end to their super bowl run. A not 100% Chris Jones needed some extra help Ogbah came up big in many of those games.

Matt Moore
Moore nearly had the Packers, and beat the Vikings. Matt Moore is one of the better backups clearly. Slowly becoming a very good journeyman.

Kendall Fuller
Let’s be honest he was an okay corner at best. Had his best season thus far, and now of course he’ll leave them to go to another destination.

Not very much moves made by the winners of the super bowl. Ogbah is the only notable move that could hurt a little. Retaining parts of the trench that’s a win. Even if that means not giving credit to Matt Moore for whatever reason.

Las Vegas Raiders

- Trades

N/A

- Received/Retained

Cory Littleton, A+
A great addition to this team, Cory Littleton was a unique player that the Rams should be ashamed they let him walk the market. He was too good. Now Jon Gruden rebuilt the linebacker position big with this signing.

Nick Kwiatkowski, A
It gets even better if you managed to get the Bears second best linebacker last season alright chucky this looks really good defensively.

Maliek Collins, B-
Although they do have two young promising nose tackles in the middle Collins, Hankins, & Hurst may all rotate which will make the team unpredictable up front.

Carl Nassib, C+
He’ll be most likely a backup, Nassib can be a guy who can go and play for say an injured player on a week given an opportunity.

Marcus Mariota, C-
Interesting he chooses to go to black and silver, and now of an animal huh? Mariota has regressed terribly, but maybe with a new team in place, and if Derek Carr were to go down in flames possibly you could see him get another chance.

Jason Witten, F
Your serious Jon? Correct, but you have two very good productive Tight Ends in Darren Waller and Foster Moreau. Why bring in a guy who is done and needs to go back to the commentary booth?

Jeff Heath, C-
Weird signing seeing how much stock they put into the safety position. Now you're adding in a guy who is gonna play the backup role or could start maybe.

Eli Apple, C-
Travon Mullen is a stud, but who else at corner is exactly? Nevin Lawson gives up a ton of penalties. Now add in Eli Apple who is the awful Giants bust, and Saints player who was an easy cut. Now he is the Raiders problem.

Nelson Agholor, B
I like this fit for Agholor, he can be a good wide receiver who can cut as a two or a three depending if they add another weapon come draft day.

- Lost

Tahir Whitehead
Interesting cut seeing he was very solid for the team, and all they had left in the middle.

Karl Joseph
Good early on, but started to regress eventually.

I gotta say Mick Mayock got very aggressive in this free agency. Some boneheaded pickups, but otherwise a lot of what look like great pickups needed. He pretty much hit on almost every position he put all the money into. I do think Raides made some significant improvement for what they have done could be a sneaky playoff team. Now just add in more youth of players in needed positions. This looks very promising for a team moving to Las Vegas.

Los Angeles Chargers

- Trades

Trai Turner, C
Not that much of an upgrade the two are kinda the same as said.

- Received/Retained

Chris Harris Jr., C-
I would say a whopping yes, but I also look at the fact the Chargers didn’t really need a corner. Casey Hayward and Desmond King are very good. Making this a bit of a head scratcher.

Austin Ekeler, A+
They got this one right, Ekeler is the guy to keep, and let Melvin Gordon walk as expected.

Linval Joseph, A
This looks like a very good fit in a very talented defense up front. You got edge rushers, and now add in Joseph next to Jeffrey looks like a tough team to block and run against.

Hunter Henry, B-
When healthy he is a difference maker, but that’s all I can say of positive. Otherwise he could be the next Jordan Reed if not careful.

Denzel Perryman, B
Fits in the system, and a much needed hand for the guys up front.

- Lost

Philip Rivers
It was very expected to be the end of the Rivera era.

Melvin Gordon
Gee that little protest you had at the beginning of the season didn’t work too well for you did it?

Thomas Davis
He didn’t fit with the scheme Gus wanted, and now does he continue or retire?

Russell Okung
An okay tackle who it didn’t really make much of a difference for what you traded for.

I gotta say the AFC West looks really tough on paper. All these teams got something good going into this season. Chargers while they have a mediocre offense to work with well need to do what they can to get better for their incoming rookie quarterback. This is a top 10 defense that now looks to be getting better with major upgrade fill ins grabbed up.
__

Los Angeles Rams

- Trades

N/A

- Received/Retained

Andrew Whitworth, C+
Good tackle, but the age is the concern moving forward.

Austin Blythe, B
Good move, he was better than the center they did have going when he was brought in. Who knew a 7th round pick would hang on this well.

A’Shawn Robinson, B-
Interesting signing seeing he is going to play Michael Brockers’s spot. Let’s see how A’Shawn does in a different position than being up front.

Leonard Floyd, B
Well they decided to get rid of Clay Matthews which was good, and get a younger fit in. Maybe he can revive his career with the Rams.

- Lost

Cory Littleton
Ugh… awful that you actually couldn’t resign him quickly.

Todd Gurley
To be honest this was a bold, but good move. Todd Gurley’s knee limited his carries as many feared now putting the Rams in a bad spot where they could be in a rebuild they don't want to be in.

Dante Fowler
Fowler did great with the Rams, and now like Littleton you chose to let him go to another team ironically he followed in the footsteps of a team that needed that exact replacement at hand.

Michael Brockers
Brockers is a guy who can be good at getting behind the lines at times, but seeing another team calling for him its best for him now to leave a team that looks like its about to come crashing down.

Eric Weddle
Retired, a longtime good safety, but a few notable hits taken I understand.

Clay Matthews
Washed up, not the player he started out to be early on Green Bay clearly.

Rams lost big time in free agency, You lose many of your defense players to other teams. Cut Todd Gurley meaning you are in restart mode. Offensive line stays the same for now, but you have a few cheap signs you could pull off that could do wonders. Still though you didn’t get a whole lot in return. Now you must go into the draft and score big. Otherwise you could be staring at last place.
__

Miami Dolphins

- Trades

Ted Karras, C
Well Miami could use any help at the offensive line.

- Received/Retained

Byron Jones, B
Overpaid to get him, but the promising duo of he, and Howard looks scary good.

Kyle Van Noy, A-
Well not going too far from a system he is familiar with Van Noy will help alright inan already what looks like a solid linebacking unit of Miami.

Emmanuel Ogbah, A
Great steal signing I’d say, he will provide what the Dolphins need in getting to the quarterback. They need serious help stopping the run though.

Jordan Howard, B
Clearly the Dolphins needed somebody at running back. Now pair him with a rookie tail back and you're tandem is all set.

Elandon Roberts, C
Another Patriot, but unlike the one in the Lions. Brian Flores will be able to put Roberts in his defense as a rotatable type guy.

Vince Biegel, C
He was solid in the limited role given.

Kamu Grugier-Hill, C-
All purpose tackler linebacker pretty much. Rarely does he go for the big turnover plays.

Shaq Lawson, D
Line up front is terrible, this doesn’t benefit so much as youth is more the focus in the interior.

Ereck Flowers, F
Why, he wasn’t anything special for the Redskins. Can’t believe you payed him that much to be a Guard is what it appears to be you’ll use him for.

Michael Roberts, F
If you don’t remember he was the failed 4th round pick in 2017 the Lions took. He bounced around many teams not passing Physicals. I’m shocked any team would take on a guy like this.

- Lost

Reshad Jones
The age is catching up to him, but there will be a team needing a safety to fill.

Aqib Talib
It appears the brief services for Talib are no longer required. This the end of Mr. Eye poker?

I like most of the moves made by Miami to go out and improve on the defense some more. Now all you gotta do is score big in the draft, and you might see the Dolphins threaten the Bills and Patriots potentially. It sounds funny, but they keep getting a boat load of guys that work out very well don’t say I told you so.
__

Minnesota Vikings

- Trades

N/A (Draft Picks)

- Received/Retained

Anthony Harris, A+
With the tag being put on him comes a painful price to follow.

Eric Wilson, A
Keep your guys in the middle of that defense I see.

Michael Pierce, C+
A bit of a downgrade if Everson Griffen is indeed out the door.

C.J. Ham, C
The Hammer can make some plays, don’t overlook this fullback.

- Lost

Everson Griffen
The dynamic edge rushing duo is no more. With Hunter there, and Griffin not the Vikings will never be the same again.

Stefon Diggs
He has said he wanted out of Minnesota, and now he gets his wish.

Mackensie Alexander
The Vikings best corner last season before going down with an injury.

Xavier Rhodes
Regressed terribly, and now appropriately has got to find a new home yet where will that be?

Trae Waynes
Improved towards the end of his run. He can provide as a number two somewhere.

Josh Kline
Vikings need to get better in the O-line. Bradbury can’t do it all by himself.

I gotta say the Vikings are going bold, and look to finally show some cracks. They almost restarted entirely at the corner position. Had to find a way to haul Stefon Diggs somewhere who would take him. Michael Pierce is not the level Everson Griffen played so that’s a major step down on the opposite side to Hunter. For a team that has major pressure to win now. They gotta do very well with the additional picks they got outta Diggs.

New England Patriots

Extra Draft Picks

- Received/Retained

Joe Thuney, A+
Good move, you have the best guard tandem retained.

Devin McCourty, A
Well at least he made the safest choice than go to another team.

Adrian Phillips, C+
Weird fit, but a good replacement for an aging Patrick Chung.

Beau Allen, C
Had to fill in at nose tackle with what was out there.

Damiere Byrd, F
Not much of an upgrade at receiver. Good luck whoever the next quarterback will be to throw to these guys.

Dan Vitale, F
You guys have James Develin, why do you need another one?

- Lost

Tom Brady
Quite possibly the biggest surprise of free agency. There was a chance he would come back, but nope.

Kyle Van Noy
Hurts in the middle a lot. Losing a player like that.

Jamie Collins
Should have kept him, knowing how bad he was in Cleveland. Don’t get it.

Danny Shelton
Again, another guy who is probably more productive here than anywhere else.

Ted Karras
David Andrews is coming back. So why not help out the Dolphins I guess.

Benjamin Watson
He was way past his prime, and the Patriots still need a Tight End.

Many are celebrating the Patriots are no longer the team they are, but they still have a team with guys who can step up to the plate. Who will be the guy to take Tom Brady’s place will be fascinating to watch who Bill Belichick believes in.
__

New Orleans Saints

N/A

- Received/Retained

Drew Brees, B

he age is slowly catching up with him, but he can still play to his age where Tom Brady maybe not so much. Don’t love all that much seeing I prefered they went with Bridgewater.

Malcolm Jenkins, B-
How interesting he goes back to the team that drafted him.

Emmanuel Sanders, A+
This a big surprise, considering he had basically four options to pick. He settles for Brees and the Saints, well the team is showing its age.

Taysom Hill, A
This guy is literally the next Sammy Baugh, a big stretch of a comparison, but still that’s who he reminds me of. A guy who can be used in many different ways.

Kiko Alonso, C+
Dirty player, but very physical tackler

Andrus Peat, C-
Good guard, overpaid quite a bit.

Patrick Robinson, C+
Good depth corner as a backup type.

D.J. Swearinger, A-
Good move retaining a very good veteran pairing him with the other. Now all they gotta do is re-sign Jenkins, and the Saints look too scary on both sides.

- Lost

Teddy Bridgewater
I would have preferred if they handed the keys to Teddy touchdown. Oh well, alas.

Eli Apple
Apple was your worst corner on the team. Jenkins was better, and they were both teammates back when they were on the G-man crew.

Vonn Bell
Still has many years left, he can go to another team that needs a safety fill in.

The saints focused on retaining a lot of their players, while making a few more pickups. Interesting they got back Malcolm Jenkins who originally was drafted by the Saints. Also they ended up getting Emmanuel Sanders who liked the idea of throwing with Drew Brees more than he did with Prescott, Rodgers, or Garoppolo. Still a few names were unsure if they retain Janoris Jenkins. Still though this looks like mostly a major win for a team that still has the talent, but can they overcome a major hurdle?

New York Giants

- Received/Retained

Blake Martinez, A+
This probably means no more Markus Golden, or Alec Ogletree which is an upgrade regardless.

Kyler Fackrell, B
Could be good, but can he fit the scheme in this new coached team?

Leonard Williams, B
He didn’t look like the high level guy he was last season. With one last cheap deal you will find out if it was worth it or not.

James Bradberry, C-
Overpaid for an average corner. Dear god, I hope that Deandre Baker improves in year two.

Colt McCoy, C
They needed a backup due to Eli retiring which was expected.

- Lost

Markus Golden
He contributed decently, but unsure if they would end up keeping him.

Alec Ogletree
He was a leader on this bad defense, but could thrive on a new team that needs leadership.

Antoine Bethea
Really weird signing, the guy is out of his prime. He didn’t help Jabrill Peppers on the far side.

Mike Remmers
The Giants had the worst tackle combination last season. Remmers was bad, and so was Nate Solder the guy they overpaid for a few years back.

Say what you will about Dave Gettleman, and how bad he handled all this last season, but he did have something going when he acquired Blake Martinez that was quite a stunner to see. Still though, i’m not sure about how the rest falls. Overpaid on an average corner, they need to get better in the trenches, and in the defensive backfield. The Giants still look like a bottom five team.

New York Jets

Connor McGovern, A
A good sign for a team that needs protection in the worst way possible.

Alex Lewis, C+
Got hurt, but maybe he comes back strong, or he just isn’t that good of a guard.

Neville Hewitt, C
He provides help for a returning Avery Williamson and C.J. Mosley. Keeping does work out with this linebacking team with high optimism

Josh Doctson, C-
Yeah let's add more redskins rejects on the team.

George Fant, D
Not much of an upgrade honestly.

Greg Van Roten, D-
Oh, now we're just gonna sign Panther scrubs okay then.

Brian Poole, F
He got beat constantly last season.

- Lost

Trumaine Johnson
Worst Free Agent signing in Jets history.

Kelvin Beachum
Dudes done, who wants a washed up tackle?

Brandon Shell
Both tackles were awful, time to rebuild better in the weak sides of Darnold.

Aside from getting Darnold a good Center. They didn’t do a good job all around him either. Giving a pair of already bad tackles with two other rejections of Seattle and Carolina. They didn’t make that many moves, and therefore need to make the necessary moves for this team to surprise people. Right now the Jets are not on the next level as Bills or Dolphins.
__

Philadelphia Eagles

- Trades

Darius Slay, A+
Yes, and while the free agent corners haven’t been great for Philly. I have a feeling the Eagles will love having Darius Slay. He isn’t the best tackler, but he is good in shutdown coverage.

- Received/Retained

Rodney McLeod, A
McLeod still has plenty of good years left in him.

Javon Hargrave, C
Puts less pressure on Fletcher to push between two blockers. Only problem though I have with this. Hargrave is gonna rotate with Malik Jackson who's also there.

Will Parks, D
Trying to rebuild in what they failed to address last season. Except Parks was terrible in Denver.

- Lost

Malcolm Jenkins
A name you wouldn't expect to leave the team, but it happened.

Halapoulivaati Vaitai
He was a backup at best, who was only good blocking for run plays.

Jordan Howard
He was productive before getting hurt along with a round of other key players.

Vinny Curry
Proved to be most productive with Philly mainly.

Nelson Agholor
You had a nice three starter right there, but money talks. Who knew a guy drafted from the awful Chip Kelly era would turn out to be a good receiver.

Nigel Bradham
The guy who coughed up the ball against Tom Brady to win their only super bowl is now gone.

Eagles didn’t make a whole lot of moves, but also a couple of losses as well. You need another tail back unless you believe Boston Scott. Looks like Eagles could use help at Linebacker there losing quite a bit of those guys finding new homes. Losing Malcolm Jenkins means Safety will also be a top need to improve defensively.
__

Pittsburgh Steelers

- Trades

Chris Wormley, B-
The trade does make sense you lost Hargrave. Now you're replacing him with a guy just as young, but hasn’t quite gotten enough production on the field where maybe the Steelers believe in him more.

- Received/Retained

Bud Dupree, A
A must tag player, came off a good season, and now coming out well with a studded defense look out for this team.

Stefen Wisniewski, A
That’s good versatility pickup right there. Wisniewski has been great for the Chiefs. Pittsburgh looks to have treated their offensive line all in good once more.

Matt Feiler, B+
They resigned both right tackles. Feiler is the better of the two, and he did a solid job taking over for Marcus Gilbert who has injury problems.

Eric Ebron, B
Vance McDonald is more of a blocking Tight End, and now you add in the more receiving threat type Tight End. If Big Ben is good all 16 games. Eborn could come in like he did with Indy right away.

Derek Watt, C-
Derek, and T.J. on the same team? Is it possible J.J. could be traded there?

- Lost

Javon Hargrave
It hurts a little up front, but yet again though he wasn’t ultized to his full potential in a skilled leveled defense of this caliber.

Sean Davis
The only true weakness of the defense would have to be in the backfield. Edmunds is good, but the opposite needed a change.

Artie Burns
One of the rare bust draft picks of the 21st century. It took Joe Haden to take over eventually.

So far I like the idea of what the Steelers are trying to do. Focusing on O-Line, giving Big Ben more weapons. Getting back Bud Dupree. The two major needs would be corner, and maybe an extra running back or wide receiver is very much in play after how flat the team was on offense when both backups took the field.
__

San Francisco 49ers

- Trades

N/A (Extra Draft Picks)

- Received/Retained

Arik Armstead, A
Retaining that type of player in that solid D-line is well worth it.

Jimmie Ward, A
Strong hitter, at times he can miss wildly. Still though you need guys to stop long ball plays.

Ben Garland, A
Yes, Garland he came in for a disappointing/hurt Weston Richburg. Since making that move the 49ers offensive line has been significantly better.

Matt Breida, F
I expected them to lose a tail back, instead they retained every single one. Of those I would NOT re-sign Matt Breida. I would have given McKinnon, and Mostert the carries. This would have been the better move. Since last season Brieda had a down year, and can benefit from other teams that could use a tandem to handoff with a better combination.

Emmanuel Moseley, B-
Jason Verrett didn’t amount much, and at times Moseley looked very good on the opposite side to Sherman. Still the team could use some serious depth in certain positions.

Kendrick Bourne, B-
A bit of an average wide receiver who has flashes of having big games like he did in the playoffs. If nothing else was there. He was wide open somehow.

Jerick McKinnon, B
Granted he got hurt the last two seasons. This is it for him. He gets hurt again cut him.

Ross Dwelley, C-
Ann okay second depth chart Tight End, who at times looked like a solid weapon for the limited role he was given.

- Lost

DeForest Buckner
Losing a guy like that hurts, but with a defensive line with good depth. Perhaps the replacement fit won’t be as bad.

Emmanuel Sanders
A surprise I gotta say, he benefited from this offense, but another had a better quarterback to go with.

Levine Toilolo
I don’t get why they needed to bring him in when you had Kittle as the main guy.

They re-signed most of the key players on offense, some defense. Let one major name go to another team traded him to a new place. Losing a guy you ended up getting a big break only to lose in the super bowl. Now he has found a new home. For the most part 49ers still have a lot of those core players, but could use more of those types of guys in the draft.
__

Seattle Seahawks

N/A

- Received/Retained

Bruce Irvin, B
Hey at least you're bringing back a guy who knows that defensive system.

Jarran Reed, B+
Didn’t have quite the year many expected, but maybe that changes big time.

Cedric Ogbuehi, B+
Now this is an upgrade for guard play. He was actually pretty solid for what he did in Cincinnati.

David Moore, C+
Average receiver who is made better by his quarterback.

Jacob Hollister, B-
Average Tight End who again his quarterback made look good.

Greg Olsen, F
Absurd signing seeing Russell Wilson likes to throw to the younger Tight Ends more than the veteran Tight Ends

Brandon Shell, D
Oh god if this what they have at Right Tackle that’s not good. They may need to draft a rookie there to be safe. Shell was bad blocking for Darnold.

- Lost

Jadeveon Clowney?
There’s a chance he could come back if he is wise. This defense gave him a new life. Go back to the first game against the 49ers. He was key to giving the niners their first loss. You need a guy like that in the pass rush. At the same time though he did get beat up pretty good, but when healthy he is a difference maker.

Quinton Jefferson
A nice solid D-Lineman who many teams will want to have as a fill in starter.

Germain Ifedi
The signing of Shell means Ifedi’s days with Seattle are over.

Not sure if Seattle did anything better per say in free agency. They did keep a good portion of what they had. Just not really filling some of those glaring needs to well. Right Tackle is still a problem. Is Logan Ryan gonna come here or not? If not draft one. Greg Olsen was a horrible signing, why do I say that because look at the history of veteran Tight Ends Wilson has not been favorable connections. It appears there going back to the old school core they had years ago, but where does Clowney go is the question?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

N/A

- Received/Retained

Tom Brady, B-
Well… congrats I guess? You won the sweepstakes in getting the GOAT. Its gonna be weird seeing him in Crimson colors, but the weapons he will have with Tampa compared to the awful crop he had in New England. Can he rebound into the player he had been or not?

Shaquil Barrett, A+
Had to happen, you got Barrett on a very cheap deal. He paid off big time to what you want him to do in this defense.

Jason Pierre-Paul, A
A veteran guy who can still play even late in his career with a club hand.

Joe Haeg, D
He was a backup Right tackle for the Colts. Let’s see if this is an upgrade or not for Tom Brady’s weak side.

- Lost

Beau Allen
An average D-lineman at best nothing that special.

Jameis Winston
Had to happen, cannot retain a guy who threw 30 interceptions. Now gonna play backup somewhere

Carl Nassib
Very underrated player who is good for depth, and can be capable of being a very good defensive player in the NFL level.

Tampa Bay hasn’t made a whole ton of moves, but the ones they did make are needed. They got two of their bigtime veterans. Suh remains a big question mark. Oh, did I mention they are the winner of the Tom Brady sweepstakes? I don’t see him winning another super bowl by any means. He is slightly better than a guy throwing 30 interceptions let’s be honest. Now he is throwing to some really incredible wide receivers. Breshad Perriman also remains a big question mark if he comes back. Brady will like the amount of playmakers he’ll have here than what he had the last two seasons in New England. The Bucs must finish the product by being aggressive in the draft in the secondary, and perhaps the frontlines of the defense as well. The O-line has gotten much better than what was previous years. If Tampa takes that next rising step, I say good luck trying to dethrone the Saints at the moment. I am excited to see two Brady Vs Brees matches though.

Tennessee Titans

Extra Draft Picks

- Received/Retained

Ryan Tannehill, B-
Played his best season yet, and not sure if I would have given him the rich deal myself.

Derrick Henry, A-
Kinda hate the fact they tag him, when you back at that successful run the Titans had. Derrick Henry was almost unstoppable in almost every game he played. He should have gotten the money.

Vic Beasley, A
Well looks to be the defense is changin a little bit, but I like the addition of bringing in Beasley. This would be the team to revive your career.

Dennis Kelly, C
An okay tackle who was on the left and right sides. Did a again okay job. Now it looks like you're gonna have more on the right tackle than left.

- Lost

Jurrell Casey
They must have a high optimism for Simmons and how he played.

Logan Ryan?
He’ll be too much to cost, thus he’ll go to another team, but who will overpay to get him after a very good season?

Jack Conklin
The offensive line was good towards the end of the season, but early they seem pretty bad for whatever reason they don’t sync too well.

Delanie Walker
An aging veteran who is at his end.

Marcus Mariota
Not the biggest draft bust, but major regression led to his exploration to a new team.

Titans are a talented young team that look to be in contention once again. Kinda odd to see such determination by the AFC South in recent years of those making the playoffs have made it far. Resigning the major key players, and adding another playmaker who could revive what he could have been for the Falcons. Tennessee is only going to get stronger in the draft if they do it right like they did last season. This is how a Patriot system should operate. Tennessee does it right.

Washington Redskins

- Received/Retained

Tress Way, A
Best Punter in the league the last few years, Redskins only consistent player you can rely on.

Brandon Scherff, A+
Scherff has been very reliable, while also hit a few times on injury. A monster Guard you invested a lot in. Fitting to tag him.

Wes Schweitzer, A
Redskins biggest focus would be at retaining both Guards.

Thomas Davis, B
Reuniting with his head coach seems to be the better route than a forgettable season with the Chargers.

Kendall Fuller, C-
So he chose to go back to his old team. Okay, but he ain’t that special just a starter who at times can shine.

Jon Bostic, C
He fits what Ron Rivera wants.

Sean Davis, D
Hopefully a backup player, he was not that good in Pittsburgh.

Nate Orchard, C+
Orchard is a nice depth pickup towards the frontline of the defense.

J.D. McKissic, C
McKissic can be used as a screen passer who can flank on the opposite side as trick plays.

Kevin Pierre-Louis, F
Filling in with a lot of linebacker signings

Comments

To finish off with the Redskins...

Logan Thomas, C
The Tight End nobody predicted the Redskins would sign. A guy who had flashes and played better than both Jesse James, and T.J. Hockeninson. That in itself is ridiculous. A 3rd stringer was your best in that position. Well the Redskins just took him for a cheap flyer.
Cornelius Lucas, D-
It is a need in case Trent Williams has to be dealt by another team. This is not a good replacement though either. Better draft a left tackle to give Haskins feel more comfortable.

- Lost
Ereck Flowers
While he was decent being switched from tackle to Guard. Losing him was for the best.
Josh Norman
Not nearly the player he used to be back in his prime.
Jordan Reed
He hasn’t recovered since getting hurt too much.
Vernon Davis
Great career, but its time to go to Canton.

While they were aggressive in free agency we know the story about getting signed to the Redskins. You normally don’t perform as well. With that said a lot of these pickups they made are all unknowns for the most part. While I applaud them for structuring their O-Line to retain. Still though unsure if these guys will really be used much in the starting realm of things. Right now this doesn’t make me think they moved much on the ladder. Now it comes down to the draft of what you can do to get better. - visitor

Well there’s the free agency period. I’ll pick five major winners thus far, and 5 losers to this point.

Big Winners
New Orleans Saints - To me the big winner thus far would be the Saints. I may not agree with them going for Brees over Bridgewater, but every other move I don’t really have a problem with at all. Reloading up in the secondary with veterans, and adding in vetera weapons. This is it for New Orleans with this amount of talent. The only problem this team will need to overcome is the coaching dilemma with Sean Payton having Coronavirus. What will this do?

Dallas Cowboys - Although they did lose some key core guys on the defense, they did address as much as they could. Trying to stay as competitive as the Eagles with what they have. Cowboys are looking to keep that offense in play, while also needing to focus more in the draft on defense. This is a win for the fact what if more players didn’t come to the team to sign sooner.

Baltimore Ravens - They did lose a major piece at Guard, but that was expected. That didn’t mean though to not overlook the defensive side of the football that needed help in a bad way. Getting two guys set up into it well done. This might be a big boost to if they do get far in a deep run.

Buffalo Bills - Buffalo didn’t hesitate to get going immediately to get better, and the guys they did managed to get helps quite a bit. Josh Allen now has three really good weapons to go to. The Bills went really aggressively on defense. Bills are in it to finally win the division, and now it is all coming together perfectly.

Las Vegas Raiders - Mike Mayock didn’t hesitate to sign many players to add to the team, and while some weren’t the greatest signs they went after their biggest glaring need, and got two studs at linebacker. Although that may sound similar with Tahir Whitehead, and Brandon Marshall (Not the WR). These two I'm convinced are upgrades to how they played. Getting another young guy in Maliek Collins. Look out for the Raiders they have built in the trench, and now all they need is the two quality play backends of the defense. You're looking at a team that could threaten the Chiefs.

Whopping Losers

New York Jets
Geez! People say the Browns, Cardinals, Bengals and Lions are the most cursed and doomed franchises. Jets haven’t been that consistently good at being relatively good in a while. Part of it is bad football scouting. All they did was give Darnold a good center that’s it! I don’t see how Fant or Van Roten are any different Beachum, or Shell. Your cornerbacks are all awful. It's hard to think if the Jets are gonna even contend with what they have isn’t very good. Did very little to improve.

Carolina Panthers
I mean yes I like the upgrade from Cam Newton to Teddy Bridgewater I’ll take it, but the fact they can’t even find a team who will take him yeah that’s a L for you. This team lost a lot of key players on defense. Making it impossible to imagine this team being any good in 2020.

Los Angeles Rams
It’s clear that things have changed in the NFC West. 49ers are the favorite, Seahawks will always be competitive if Russell Wilson is on the field. Cardinals have shown they can rise to the occasion. Rams? What did you do? You decided to almost say we are restarting. Todd Gurley bye! Clay Matthews Bye! Dante Fowler, Cory Littleton, and Michael Brockers goodbye! You basically let them walk not even bothering to re-sign, and instead were able to get two guys dirt cheap. One guy who played in the nose moved to the edge will that even work? Here’s an even worse problem: you don’t have too many draft picks. Which can you pull off any trade moves in the draft?

Detroit Lions
I dislike the majority of what the Lions have done to this point. Why are you loading up on Safety? Why are we overpaying on a backup tackle whose only good in run blocking? Why are we picking Patriot scrubs? Oh right because this team is run by Patriot affiliates. It doesn’t help your case that a number of former Lions are calling for your heads, and knowing how much you guys will fall flat. Good luck drafting good. Bob Quinn hasn’t had a good draft record much. He has some rights, and a lot of wrongs.

New England Patriots
I just think with losing Three linebackers, plus Tom Brady is a sign that Belichick has a lot of picks to really get right. They did retain some of their defense, but not a whole lot of it. Combined with weird pickups of already loaded positions in Adrian Phillips. The Patriots didn’t do a convincing job at getting better quickly. All answers will come on draft day. What could remain the fate of this team?

There it is folks, until we meet again will be the NFL Draft. Can these teams rebound, or will the reality of the product we see now come in a picture of what is expected. - visitor

Interesting, very good post. - 2storm

I personally really liked the re-signing of Marcedes Lewis. He's a leader in the locker room, a great blocking tight end, and he won't be our starter (Jace Sternberger will hopefully step up next season). It'll be good to have him around to be a primary back-up tight end and to mentor the young guys in Jace Sternberger and Robert Tonyan. - PackFan2005

very good the only thing I notice is Michael Pierce is the replacement for Linval Joesph the Vikings have not done anything at the DE yet - RawIsgore
