Random Sports Recap Episode 4: NFL Off-season Edition (March 15-20, 2020)

Well we have some action in the sports world. In spite of the CoronaVirus the NFL off-season has had some action keeping us sports fans from having to watch paint dry all day long in self quarantine. I will go through a lot of the more notable moves and give my thoughts on them as well as any other news I have

TB12 to TB
The most significant move this off-season so far was Brady leaving his legacy in New England to go to Tampa Bay of all places. This will be interesting to see what happens with Bruce Arians who’s a veteran coach and can build the offense around Brady’s style with weapons like Chris Goodwin and Mike Evans. Things in that division just got really interesting. How will Brady fare not in Emperor Belichick’s system? Where will 30 for 30 Jamies Winston land? There’s some interesting discussions here and at the end of the day I think this could have the biggest impact on the league

Deandre Hopkins to Arizona??Easily the most laughable move as Bill O Brien trades away Deshaun Watson’s top Target for David Johnson and not much else. Who’s Watson going to throw to now? That’s what happens when you have Bill O Brien as GM and Head Coach. You get nothing but a player who hasn’t been the same in years and a bag of Doritos in return for one of the league’s best receivers. Arizona won easily as they have Kyler Murray Larry Fitzgerald and now DeAndre Hopkins

Stefon Diggs to Buffalo??Meanwhile Minnesota moves on from
Stefon Diggs who Buffalo got a huge pickup. They needed someone to rejuvenate their offense and Diggs is the type of guy who can do that. Minnesota also got a decent return. Overall a win win

Todd Gurley Cut by LA and Signed by Atlanta
This was an interesting move that could work. It’s a little shocking that LA cut one of the best running backs in the league a few years ago. I get he hasn’t been the same but he still has talent. Atlanta May have made a smart move or it could backfire I can’t tell depends on if he can return to form from a few years ago. Atlanta come back to me on this one in January then we’ll talk
Phillip Rivers to Indy
Rivers has moved on from LA and was looking for a new team. Indy did the right thing bringing in a veteran quarterback who can win. He’ll have good protection and familiarity with Frank Reich. He could be the answer to bring Indianapolis back to the playoffs

Bridgewater To Carolina
Glad for him to get a starting job but I feel bad for him he has a weaker offense with Christian McCaffery and Who else? That’s their problem as well as being in a division with 3 explosive offenses and this is looking like a last place team at the moment. Also the are basically indicated that they’re moving on from Cam who is now on the market.

Nick Foles to Chicago
The Winning quarterback in the double doink game is going to Chicago. That’s gonna be a bit awkward. Bears offense needs a good quarterback who can rejuvenate it because let’s be honest Mitch Trubisky is not the answer. This could work but it could also backfire. Foles is a situational QB so how will he fare in a full season?

Darius Slay to Philadelphia
Detroit got rid of one of their better defensive players and Philadelphia got help they desperately needed on the defensive side. Overall I’d say not a bad trade. Not sure what the Lions got in return but in terms of a Philadelphia standpoint I’d say this was a fair trade

Dak Prescott Franchise Tagged
Amari Cooper Resigned
There were two things Dallas needed to do and both happened. They keep Dak and his top Target. Overall I would say they did the right thing here now the question is will they underachieve again?

Ryan Tannehill resigned
Derrick Henry Franchise Tagged
The Titans made 2 key moves to keep their biggest playmakers from last year back. That’s all fine but I would have done it the other way around. Henry is a bigger playmaker and Tannehill could regress. I don’t get why you did not do it the other way around. At least you have the potential to do something next year

DeForest Buckner to Indy
Is he worth a first round pick? That’s my biggest question here. I think he’ll fit fine on Indy and a nice way to bolster that defense the Colts May actually be a dark horse. We’ll have to see

Calais Campbell to Baltimore
To me this says two things.. Jacksonville is rebuilding as almost all of their Sacksonville defense is now gone. And Baltimore is in win now mode and doing anything they can to bolster their team. They know last year gave them a sour aftertaste in the end and they have to get back. Overall not a bad addition

NBA:
Brooklyn Nets Have 4 players Test positive for CoronaVirus ,76ers have 3 players test positive for CoronaVirus, Nuggets have at least one confirmed case of CoronaVirus

The CoronaVirus continues to wreck havoc on the NBA with more cases likely to come up. Seeing the NBA was in the forefront of all of this were likely looking at a few months at minimum with no NBA. Will there still be a postseason? Probably but how will it happen? Nobody knows what this means but just goes to bring more awareness to this disease sweeping our planet right now. This is unfortunate for everyone.

And with that I’ll report what I can but there may not be much until Sports are back. Episodes may be few and far between. All we can do is do our part
Wash your hands, stay home, social distance yourself and don’t overstock. Stay safe and we’ll get through this together.
Until next time Randomator Out ✌🏻😷
