1 Checking your social media has become a habit

You instinctively check social media whenever you get the chance.

I always check mine even though I never have notifications

2 You spend more time on social media than talking to people in person

Like at a restaurant with someone, or when someone is trying to talk to you.

If you are so distracted by social media that you forget to eat, sleep, and/or drink water, then you are probably addicted.

I'm a bit guilty of this one sometimes. It's important to get ready for what you need to do without getting caught up in other things, such as social media.
