Despite her controversial songs, Brent Staples from "The New York Times" claimed her to be 'the most influential female rapper of all time', presumably distinctive for her fast flow and her use of alter egos with Cockney accent.
She has endorsed Adidas, MAC Cosmetics and Pepsi.
Minaj has received ten Grammy-nominations throughout her career, and has won multiple awards including the Billboard's Women in Music 2011 Rising Star award. I'm not sure getting loads of hate could also mean the artist gets overrated especially when it's a terrible one like Nicki Minaj or Justin Bieber for example
Overrated means something that is good but gets more praise than it deserves. Every singer on this list gets a ton of hate.

This girl can't sing for crap and 99% of her music is total crap. Rihanna might be a horrible singer but at least her older music was kind of catchy, katy was never good. I kissed a girl is one of the biggest piles of crap I've ever heard and I can't believe this dumb broad made an entire career off of horrible songs, fake boobs and horrible live singing.
She is not terrible at all but she is REALLY overrated, singers that can be good like Ariana, Miley, Rihanna or Demi Lovato got hate as much as her, but Katy is a mediocre live singer at best, her songs (not all of them) are kinda childish.
