Of course all death growls are aggressive by default but I think that there's pain in Chuck growls. It's unique but at the same time it lowers the degree of aggression. For example, compare Chuck with Alexi Laiho - Alexi has no pain in his voice and sounds much more aggressive than Chuck.
He's voice is really aggressive, and in the last two albums he made it more tearing
