I don't love you I like you
She's good - 1507563
i luv loretta soo much!! She and her voice is amazing
Good for her time
His vocal range is awesome and I guess a great singer should have a variety of vocal skills and agility. This guy sings with melisma. He was once considered to hae the most trained voice. And its difficult for a dude to sing with ladies, but his artiste sometimes outperform the ladies. He is also an artiste that is almost perfectly on key. He is just amazing. Definitely one of the greatest singers of all time
Rumour states that Tim McIlrath is the God of Punk Rock
Hey say his vocal chords themselves are made of lightning and imbued with the power to change the world when combined with his breath-taking, emotive and eternally significant lyrics.
Tim's mighty scream is a force to be reckoned with due to it's incredible ability to cast waves of fury upon those who don't care for the world we live in and support war or violence in any form. However, it also has an, arguably, more important element embedded within; the power to save lives.
I don't know why this guy is down here...
really? justin bieber? britney spears?
better than this guy?
what the hell do people nowadays are listening to?
and where the hell is dave grohl?
I love how people vote singers who sound nothing like they do on albums when singing live. Tim sounds almost exactly the same, except for maybe a few adjustments on albums to make Rise Against songs sound perfect. Either way, needs to be much farther up on the list.
Tim's voice really really awesomeV 9 Comments
John Legend has made a mark upon the music industry that will never be erased. As a six-time GRAMMY Award winner, Legend has garnered respect not only for his chart-topping singles and smooth, velvety vocals, but he has also become one of the last mainstream vanguards of contemporary soul music.
Hey! John Legend is cool! He is his last name! He shouldn't be 214!
He is such an amazing singer
He has a great voiceV 2 Comments
Katy Perry being higher than this guy pretty much proves this list is a joke. This guy is a better singer than most singers in music history. He can reach vocals that are impossible for most singers to reach. He has a great vocal range and he sounds better live than his studio recordings.
Sam is talented he should at least be in the top 20 not in 192
Sam smith has one of the best voices now here in 2014
Why is he so low, money in my mind got second best hits on the score board chart of the decade he just has to be well put up the list at least in the top 25V 13 Comments
What does Pavarotti not have in common with all these other people? (I won't even say "vocalists" because it's debatable whether some on this list have even earned the right to be called that. ) You might say "He's an opera singer" but more importantly - he's the only one who could be placed in front of a group of instrumentalists playing, without a mic, and still stand a chance at making an impression on an audience. And it should be mentioned that to seriously compare him to most of these people, is like comparing a thorough-bred grand national race horse to a pack of mongrel dogs - the prestige and intensity of his consistent vocal training from a young age cannot even begin to be rivaled by this lot!
Who actually believes Pavarotti is inferior to Justin Bieber as a vocalist and performer (unless you're a 12 year old girl)? I don't see how this list can be taken seriously. I'd like to see the singers on this list attempt Ave Maria, and laugh at the fools they'd make of themselves (ex: Beyonce's rendition was pathetic despite her talent, modernizing a classic compromises the artistic quality of the performer as well as the performance). Half these names will be forgotten in ten years, if anyone had even heard of them in the first place, however the King of the High C's will never be forgotten.
How can Luciano Pavarotti be at number 67? That's a disgrace. How many people have the power to bring a man to tears by the sheer magnitude of his voice. It is sad how under appreciated opera is. - daynah
Its absolutely hilarious that the 11-year olds who are the majority here on TTT have no idea who this man is.V 26 Comments
His recent work not withstanding, Van Morrison is, without a doubt, the greatest white singer ever to hold a microphone. From Astral Weeks to Hymns To The Silence nobody has come close to matching his vision and vocal power. He taps into things almost no other vocalist has ever reached within a framework of his own unique musical style - pure feeling and spontaneity matched to timeless songwriting. Bitterness and anger poisoned his later work, but nothing can erase the glow of his many, many stupendous masterpieces.
Van the Man. Not only is he one of the finest songwriters in the history of rock, his voice stands out as one of the most amazing as well. He started out almost punk with his early band Them, then amazed us with his pop sound of Brown Eyed Girl. But when he finally took off, it was the voice...the voice that gave you goosebumps as Van sang Madam George, Sweet Thing and Astral Weeks. The voice that entranced you on Moondance, Tupelo Honey, Listen to The Lion, Into the Mysic and so many others. Van Morrison's powerful voice makes him a top 20 singer without any doubt.
Clearly there are people voting here that have no concept of rock history. They are confined to their only little world of pop music. Van Morrison is one of the all time greatest voices in rock music. He's at #158? Insanity! - Storm63
He is the best. We will never forget himV 2 Comments
If you Listen to Tool & A Perfect Circle and read the lyrics and all you who are voting for others will realize that Maynard James Keenan has most likely made the greatest vocal contribution to the world's music library of all singers so far. His vocal range is vast, from soft light and sensitive to heavy all consuming passion. Delivering the sacred words of life through intelligent & thought provoking lyrics. There is always an undeniable wisdom & subtlety in the lyrics & their delivery.
The instrumentation is always very unique. The Rhythms are very pure & polished and resonate perfectly with the emotion of the songs.
There is always an underlying Intelligence in the songs that reveals itself as the song progresses. With sensitivity, Maynard sings in ways that are therapeutic to the soul. Tribal and primal. Something very special for mankind.
I hate sounding like a Tool fanboy, but the fact that Maynard is even on the same list as folks like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, let alone below them, is a symptom of what is wrong with modern culture. This guy is seriously talented and his ability to drag you through emotions with his style is pretty amazing.
Never got that feeling listening to "Toxic".
This list is a joke. There's no reason for Maynard to be any lower than the top 5. I don't even see Geoff Tate on the list. This is just ridiculous. Sure MJ had a great voice, but Elton John's was used more dynamically. Sure, some 80's rock singers had great ranges, but Maynard's is just as good if not better than most... Not only that, but he can use that range softly, loudly, and passionately.
I think I saw Chester Bennington up there. Are you guys serious? You think he can scream? Listen to Ticks and Leaches, Eulogy, and Grudge? He's got power and length and can easily transition into the softest voice in rock in an instant. This list is a Joke.
We don't need jesus because he is here now in the form of maynardV 49 Comments
How anybody could listen to Boston and not put Bradley Delp (at least) in the top ten is beyond me. I always thought, even before his untimely death, that his voice was THE voice of American Hard Rock, and was only rivaled by Freddie Mercury. Those two wrestle for the number one spot in a league of thier own.
This guy should be in the top 5 if not the first. I'm a big Boston fan, but in my opinion- very underrated singer. seriously listen some of his songs like More Than A Feeling, Long Time, Rock n roll band etc... His vocal range is astonishing and every time I hear him hitting those high notes I get a goosebumps.
His voice was like velvet. In my mind, he defined the 70s, and I loved all the work he did with Boston over the years. Brad... you shouldn't have killed yourself, man. Depression is a serious disease. If anyone reading this feels that way, please seek help!
Listen to the Acapella versions of some Boston's songs and you will realize just how much his voice makes the music.
Amazing range! Should be at the top!
This is a man, that deserves the Title "number 1". He has the most unique Rock and Roll voice that is ever heard and been on this planet. Bruce springsteen is the best live artist, idol, singer; I could keep mention titles, but what can I say - HE IS THE BOSS and I can't see why Justin bieber and all disney jokes are in top 100 and he's putted on number 190. Give him at least a place in top 10 instead of all the pop singers that don't even deserve being on the list. - I'm disappointed... And to end my comment... ROCK & ROLL FOR LIFE!
best singer/song writer rver lived
If he not the peoples choice then he definitely has the vote from his peers, go on ask Waco, ask Sir Paul... Just look at who they got to duet with stevie wonder for we are the world. And I can just see how that came about. Q called up Bruce and asked him that they would be honoured if he would duet on the record and did he have anyone in mind and Bruce said in his band he sings with a stevie does that help? And Q said well hell we got a stevie and the rest is history.. No not MJ. Afterwarfds at the press thing Q said it was unfortuant that it had taken a crisis to work the colaberation but were never the less greatfull to Bruce and the legendary E Street band. That's earth stomping, record breaking...

Tom Chaplin is undoubfully one of the best singers of our age. He owns the most pure and beautiful voice, a brilliant and really impressive vocal range, being able to fill a room with enchantment just with the sound of his own vocals, not using a mic. We listen to a recorded performance, we find it amazing.. We see him singing live and we get totally blown away, as he sounds even more flawless! Adding to these so very rare gifts, have to highlight the fact of him being so honest and crystal clear... He's so passionate, giving all his heart & soul, no artifacts whatsoever. Just him, his heavenly voice - and we do believe that if Angels exist... They sound like him for sure.
He just... Flawless and so inspirational. And I'm sure he'll still continue evolving more and more!
Tom Chaplin has such a powerful voice! He sings every word clearly and is able to convey the message and tone of the song through just his voice. He is truly a gifted man, yet so terribly underrated nowdays for reasons I cannot simply fathom. He has such great range! If you've ever heard 'She Has No Time', you cannot help with be impressed with him.
He is able to connect right with your heart, and that is why I think he is the best singer of all time.
He has the voice of an angel. He can reach high notes like no other. Plus, Queen invited him to perform It's A Hard Life with them, a song that hadn't been performed live since Freddy Mercury died, simply because no one on earth apart from Freddy could hit such high notes. Well, now we know the great Tom Chaplin can.
This guy's voice is heaven sent! He should be top 20, without question. He is the lead singer for the Brit band, KEANE. Remember, this list is for "best singers" and anybody who has heard Tom Chaplin sing knows darn well that he is one of the best!V 41 Comments
I cannot believe someone has not put him in! One of the softest and most comforting voices ever and also with great tone. One of the only singers who voice could make you cry.
One of the smoothest voices around. Sweet baby James is one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever.
In his prime, no one came close to his beautiful tone. No one.
Brittney Spears ahead of James what a joke?V 1 Comment
Judy Garland played the role of "Dorothy" in the classic film "The Wizard of OZ, " and popularized one of the all-time best hits, "Over the Rainbow;" she had a powerful, clean voice even at a very tender age back in the 1950s, as Jackie Evancho, Bianca Ryan, and Nita Blanc now have in the 2010s. The world lost a tremendous talent much too soon in her career.
How can Judy Garland not be on this list let alone not in the top ten... She is the best there has ever been... Her voice is perfection personified... - FeatherFour
Judy Garland is the greatest singer in the world. She is so amazing. There is no reason that she is not number one on this list. She is my favorite singer. She is number one in my heart. I can't believe that Britney Spears beat her.
The person who made this chart probably never seen a lassic movieV 12 Comments
Great singer from a great group, not to mention his impressive vocal range and singing styleV 1 Comment
Ms. Regine is not only an only a singer but she is A PROFESSIONAL SINGER because she is known as the ASIA'S SONGBIRD and she lived in the Philippines because PNoy is not only a singer but they can be a Professional Singer like Charice Pempengco. Ms Reg can also HIT the High Notes that she is singing like Mariah Carey's song and also to the other known singer.
One of a kind, gold and platinum albums, great audience in concerts, many blockbuster movies. I think she is the only singer that can sing well with high notes even suffering from harsh voice. A spectacular singer indeed. A singer that sings full of emotions and feelings that you don't have to look at her. Fabulous and low-profiled singer. She even do not forget to help those people in need.
An extra-ordinary singer... Multiplatinum albums, sold-out concerts, movies... Shes amazing... REGINE VELASQUEZ, ASIA'S SONGBIRD.. A VOICE TO BEAT...!
The best singer of all time regineV 44 Comments
It is undeniable that Freddie Murcury is the greatest singer of all time but the reason I'm voting for Geoff Tate is because having him at number 153 is just a disgrace to music. This guy deserves to be in the top ten or at least in the top 20. This guy has a pair of vocals that could sing anything. I've made my friends listen to Queensryche and were all taken a back by how amazing this guy is. The only reason he's so low is because Queensryche isn't popular enough. - metalmaiden
Tate has an operatic rock voice, and can carry a high note forever. He would be perfect for Phantom of the Opera. His vocals our very powerful that can go high, but he has a natural low voice. He definitely deserves to be in the top ten for male singers.
99... this list is a joke... eddie vedder, geof tate... all of them not in the top ten slot... and only to be preceeded by britney! Tate is Progressive rock's staple diet.
One of the biggest vocal ranges of all time. - ActOfGenesisV 8 Comments
202?!?!?!? SERIOUSLY?!?! Lana Del Rey is easily one of the best singers of all time and should be in the top 10, not stuck at 202! Lana is a queen who is very versatile in music, somewhere on the fine line of pop, alternative, and washed out punk rock-ish. Her blend of music might not sound good, but she's so unique and beautiful. Her voice is so unique, and she worked hard for many years to try to become well known and deserves to be even more well known. Everybody in the world should be given a copy of Born To Die, Paradise or Ultraviolence and not listen to the crap most of the world does listen to. Lana Del Rey is QUEEN!
Her voice is so strong and powerful. She should be more well known. ' Born to die' is so lovely! I hope she advances in her career, and come out with more songs.
This woman's voice is heaven. Everyone knows her and she needs to be in the top ten at least!
She is a very good singer and songwriter. If you haven't hear her live then you should, she is amazingV 20 Comments
Michael Hutchence is without a doubt the greatest singer and songwriter ever the song Don't Change has taught me not to try and be someone else to just be me and enjoy life I love him so much I wish he was still here....
Michael Hutchence deserves more then rank 214. Don't Change, Never Tear Us Apart, Need You Tonight, New Sensation. Best songs in the WORLD! WHAT HAS THIS WORLD COME TO? MICHAEL SHOULD BE NUMBER ONE! LOVE YA MICHAEL!
NO ONE CAN BEAT HIM HE DESERVES TO ME IN THE TOP 2 HE WOULD OF BEEN BIGGER THAN JOHN LENNON I LOVE YOU MICHAEL.
He deserves the top spotV 8 Comments
He's amazing, from brutal death metal growls to super clean falsetto. I love him. Shame that no one put him on this list.
Unbelievable vocals. Switches from low, demonic growls to sweet, melodic singing in seconds. - resipisence
