Best Singers of All Time

The Contenders: Page 5

81 Bryan Adams Bryan Adams

Bryan Adams should be in top 20 at least. Surprisingly some of the irritating singers like Lady Gaga are above him in ranking.

You are right, I thought he would be in the top 10 list, I don't know how people prefer some of the cheap singers, who are rated on the top list, amazing

come on people you know him - kandiyal

Bryan adams is my second favourite singer, rright behind Hatsune MIku. Normally, I listen to Japanese Pop, and Korean Pop, because I don't normally enjoy these days English music. Bryan Adams is the only actualy singer I can stand to listen to! He's me and my moms favourite

His debut solo album Hesitant Alien was released more.

His so... AMAZING. AMAZING VOICE. AMAZING BAND. AMAZING MAN. AMAZING MUSICIAN. I can't describe how I love him. My Chemical Romance would never be the same without him. He's one of the best singers I've ever known. GO GEE!

Gerard Way is possibly the best singer ever. My Chemical Romance is the best band ever and he should totally be higher!

Hey! What's up w/ this list! Gerard should be higher than 56. THIS IS so WRONG!

He should be higher man. Just listen to the way he sings. I have not met one person who dislikes them.

83 Morrissey Morrissey Steven Patrick Morrissey (born 22 May, 1959), known as Morrissey, is an English singer, songwriter and author, rose to prominence as the lead singer of The Smiths, an indie rock band - which was active from 1982 to 1987 . Since then, Morrissey has had a solo career making the top ten of the UK singles more.

Simply the most unique voice of all time. There is so much passion in his voice. His voice is like no other before or since. How can anybody take this list seriously when you have Rhydian at number three?

How is he not higher, chris Martin beat him CHRIS MARTIN

Morrissey: his solo stuff isn't the best but the work in the Smiths was brilliant!

ICON - Needs to be top 10 this list is appalling

84 Phil Anselmo Phil Anselmo Philip Hansen "Phil" Anselmo is an American musician who is best known as the former lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Pantera. He currently is the vocalist of heavy metal bands Down and Superjoint Ritual.

He should be in the top 10 at least! One of the greatest singers of all time and he's 200. Under Justin Bieber and lady gaga

Best Raw performance. Be brought metal back. Pure emotions and toughness, this Voice brings fears to ears.

By far the one of the best singers on this list! Should be much higher up

Very brutal heavy voice, better then Pantera's first vocalist who they only made hair under. - Lucretia

85 Billy Joel Billy Joel

Billy Joel used to be so popular. He had a beautiful voice, could go high could go low, he could sound like anything. He also had such a natural sense for the music, I remember him just closing his eyes and humming to the beat. Billy Joel created some of the most moving songs that were all- time favorites just two or three decades ago (Piano Man, This is the Time, River of Dreams, Innocent Man, etc). It's pretty sad to see him being lapped by the obnoxious sounding fake singers of our generation, and the rap machines who have no sound. Billy Joel is a legend of music. He deserves better than this.

I just went through this list, and I have to ask you all a question. Are you all stoned or just stupid? This man has some of the best songs over the past 30 years. When I saw some of the people ahead of him, I started to wonder about the idiots who come on this site. Most of them should be wearing a helmet so they don't get hurt. - RdrTech

How is he not higher? What kind of idiots vote on this sight? Good lord, some of the people that top this list are just awful. There are very few artists who had/have more talent than Billy Joel and Elton John. Both of them need to be higher on this list, and it is just sad that they aren't.

He should be top 10.

Tupac sold over 75 million records worldwide and has been referred to in multiple major publications such as Rolling Stone as one of the greatest music artists of all time. 2Pac was more.

Tupac had a lot of meaning in his songs and his lyricism was unbelievable and that's why he deserves to be in the top 100!

He is one of the most talented men in the Music Industry, he was a legend and an amazing rapper

With out a doubt he best rapper of all time. RIP

You can't beat him - Bobo_LOL

87 Brent Smith Brent Smith Brent Stephen Smith is an American singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the band Shinedown.

Singer of Shinedown.
One of the most unique and powerful voices in rock history.
One of the most passionate singers I have ever seen or heard.
An incredible songwriter and source of inspiration.
Immensely talented with the microphone and a great person all in all.

Brent is the best by far! Check out any Shinedown album and judge for yourself!

His voice range is amazing but he's not very widely recognized. If anyone reads this check out Smith & Meyers so you can hear some of his amazing covers.

Only few have a voice like this guy.

88 James Brown James Brown

Seriously? #152? Wow, all of you britany spears and lady gaga fanboys/girls need to get your heads out of the proverbial arse of the modern music industry and become enlightened to the king of soul! This may be a bit of a culture shock to you, due to the gaping chasm of class seperating so-called "singers" and true musicians being so unfathomably wide that I weep at the very thought of how they are recognised as todays greats. Classics such as "mans world" are both beautiful and poignent, sending chills to my very core. With such a mastery of tone and pitch, added with iconic performances and personna, I can only hope his music can still thrive amongst the garbage of today.

If it wasn't for this legend, there would be no, and I mean NO michael jackson. Michael jackson is my favorite singer but I have to thank James brown for this reason

James Brown was a great singer for Motown. Michael Jackson thought of him as a role model. I can tell because Michael went to his funeral. Now both of them are in heaven, resting peacefully with God.

The artist that was known as the godfather of soul, the man that created the sound that was funk and the inspiration for artists such as Michael Jackson and Prince along with being one of the most sampled artists in rap deserves way more than a #95 on this list.

Everything about him is trash and garbage

90 David Gilmour David Gilmour David Jon Gilmour is an English singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He joined the progressive rock band Pink Floyd as guitarist and co-lead vocalist in 1968.

Come on people he is way better then some of the pop singers given above just check his skill, save voice when he was 20 and now way above 60. God gifted guitarist soulful singer I was surprised how he was not on the list let alone below some very people he inspired. Take my advice listen to On an island on YouTube you will thank me...

The best song writer and someone who understands the feel of the music

I am insulted that he is lower than artists like Drake and Lil Wayne. 116 yet Pink Floyd are the 7th highest selling band in history. His lyrics in Wish You Were Here and Comfortably Numb are flawless. Sure Rodger was the mind behind the prime of Pink Floyd but Gilmour was the man who could perform those songs like no other.

Best.. the best!

91 Meat Loaf Meat Loaf Michael Lee Aday is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor usually known by his stage name Meat Loaf.

Meat has a wonderful voice, sings with passion, has a charismatic presence on stage, still packs arenas after more than 35 years, yet still has humility and is unfailingly gracious to his fans. Puts him at number 1 for me.

Meat Loaf is WAY too low on this list. In fact, there are way too many phenomenal singers too low, this list is terrible. - BraveNewWorld

The power shown in "Bat out of Hell" contrasted with his perfect control in "I'd Do Anything For Love" puts him above everyone else for me.

He's a bit too much for me, theatralic and pretentious but the guy has tongue in cheek, seemes genuinely nice and he also has a great voice love him in 12 monkeys lol - ChatonNoir

92 Tom DeLonge Tom DeLonge Thomas Matthew "Tom" DeLonge, Jr., is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and film producer. He was born in Poway, California on December 13, 1975 . When he was in high school at age 15, he got expelled for drinking at a basketball game . He also used to play the more.

Sad that people think he can't sing due to his live performances when this man has lots of talent. The main reason he sounds bad live is because he drinks alcohol due to nerves before singing on stage, and he sounds all drunk and stuff. It ruins his voice and makes people not like his singing voice. But he also has some good performances, like his Violence performance, it was epic. He just needs to deal with live shows in a better way, this man can actually sing. I have heard a video clip where he was just randomly singing, not trying to do his best without autotune or any effects, and he hit some crazy high notes I could never ever hit and sounded good. And he can sing his songs really well without autotune when he is just in his studio practicing songs, not recording. - AnimeDrawer

Oh I am going to go off my head because he is so low on this list. How is he below one direction? He actually puts emotion into his music. Throughout Blink-182, Angels and Airwaves and Box Car Racer, he has some of the best songs ever created. I miss you is one of my all time favorite songs. Tom Delonge is one of the very few musicians that makes music that is powerful enough to leave me in tears.

I know right? One Direction sucks and the band members can't sing, Tom DeLonge would put them all to shame if he performed. He can hit high and low notes, and he can play the guitar really good. I saw his live performances and they are incredible. - AnimeDrawer

I can't believe singers like Rihanna and Taylor Swift are above this talented guy. He should be in top ten. He deserves much more attention, he's got that amazing accent in his singing and his guitar riffs are unlike any other. And I would like to meet him in real life, that would be the bomb. I choose singers for their talent and not for their looks. The 5SOS members look decent, but make bad music. The Blink 182 members aren't the most handsome, but sure make good music. - AnimeDrawer

The strongest person in the world, the only person who can beat Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris without even trying. All he needs is his guitar and his singing voice and he can easily destroy anyone: read this(ekoj) - AnimeDrawer

93 Ray Charles Ray Charles Raymond Charles Robinson, professionally known as Ray Charles, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and composer.

COME ON! For god's sake, Demi Lovato is ahead of him! Great singer, piano-player and one of the most infuential artists of the 20th century.R.I. P! - GuitarZero

How is ray not on top?!? He is the best musician and singer of all time! He invented soul and was considered THE genius of show business. And being behind Corey Taylor makes me want to throw up.

Why is Ray so low on this list, although people like Ariana grande and Demi Lovato are not bad Ray Charles is one of the most influential artists of all time. I understand how people have their own opinions and stuff but do people not understand that Ray is a genius?

How in the hell is Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and all those singers above this guy. - venomouskillingmachine

94 Alanis Morissette Alanis Morissette

I was like so disappointed that an artist as talented as she is is way below than those pop artists, I think that this girl recorded the best songs in history! Just my opinion, I hope she gets more votes in this poll

Incomparable, unbeatable, superb, outstanding. Great voice, unique style. She can make all those above there eat dust.

Just listen no "No presure over capuchino" and you'll certainly agree.

I'm argentinian and Alanis is one of the Canadian singer that got to be known his song are well-known all around the world, she deserves to be nearer the top

She is phenomenal. 102 is way too low for her on any list. If you hear her voice, you'll just know it is her.

95 Chris Martin Chris Martin

Seriously? 112?

Chris Martin has such a special and beautiful voice! Why is he not in the top 20?

Coldplay is an amazing band with Chris Martin as an amazing Lead Singer! I just can't understand why people like Nicki Minaj are higher than Chris...

But it's the same with the modern music today... This anaconda is played on the radio...What happened with our world?

Okay, there are also really good songs in the charts and on the radio like The Script or Coldplay songs and I accept every person who has an other taste of music but you can't call Anaconda music!

So what I want to say is that I'm really sad that Chris Martin is so low on this list and that I can't understand why other crap singers are higher than him and by the way...Where is Danny O'Donoghue?

Chris Martin's voice is got to be the best voice I've ever heard in my entire life. He and Coldplay make the world go round with their touching and sensational songs they've written... GO COLDPLAY! - jprg12

Chris Brown before Chris Martin? He should be ranked a lot higher than that. Chris Martin can sing high, medium or low. He has got to be one of the best I have ever heard. He is so inspiring.. - Elaine22

People here are insane. If Taylor Swift is higher than Billy Joel... Just what. This guy deserves at least the top 100. He and his band made awesome music. - okcnaline

He should be number 1!

96 Carrie Underwood Carrie Underwood

Incredible range and voice. She really expresses the emotions of a song. Definitely the best country singer out there and probably top 10 of all singers.

Definitely one of the best female singers out there! - italianajuliana

Easily the most overrated singer in music today, especially on these Top Ten lists. Average voice and can only sing country well. No versatility whatsoever. Only won American Idol because she was up against another average singer in Bo Bice.

She is way better than all these bitches

97 Nat King Cole Nat King Cole Nathaniel Adams Coles, known professionally as Nat King Cole, was an American singer who first came to prominence as a leading jazz pianist.

There's lots of singers on this list whose music I prefer over Nat King Cole's but that wasn't the question, now was it? Yes, he should be number 1 or at least very close to it!

Trying to claim anyone as "the greatest singer of all time" is extremely arrogant--I'm voting for Nat not as the greatest singer (how could anyone ever presume to know that? ), but because he is certainly much better than everyone listed above him.

Nat King Cole has the most beautifully opened tone EVER! He is, of course, pre-rock... Nat, Ella, Billie, Nancy, Sarah, Frank, Vic, Bing and Pops are on a planet of their own... Only Lennon and McCartney has the jet fuel to get THERE! Miles, Benny, Duke, Glen, Brubeck, George, Ira and Cole dwell there TOO! - frank

Nat King Cole should be in the top five...120...

98 Roger Waters Roger Waters George Roger Waters, is an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. He was mostly known for the secondary lead vocals and bassist of Pink Floyd .

WOW people. Jeez, number 283. This guy has way better vocals than Robert Plant because he can scream like a pterdactyl. Until I see Plant do that, Waters is better. Waters, Gilmour, and Wright all have amazing voices. Still don't believe me? Listen to Careful With That Axe Eugene, Echoes, or Comfortably Numb. Pink Floyd harmonizes vocals a lot better than Alice In Chains. I'm not saying Alice In Chains is bad at vocals, I'm saying Pink Floyd are masters at getting into your soul. I'd really like to see Led Zeppelin try and play Echoes and harmonize vocals the way Pink Floyd does. The Zep could never play Echoes that perfectly even if they wanted to. Another thing that adds to Echoes complexity is it's 231 minutes long, and I have never seen any of The Zep's songs that long.

He adds emotion and soul to his albums. Below Eminem? For real? Pink Floyd is the band that introduced me to music as an art form. I'm even listening to Waiting for the Worms right now. Vote for Roger!

Thanks roger, David, richard n nick for your beautiful, excellent n impressive music. You're always in my heart

Listen to Time and Comfortably Numb, and you'll believe that Roger Waters is the best vocalist ever.

If you want Roger Waters vocals then listen to animals and the final cut - ChefSkinner

She first rose to fame as the lead singer of the pop/r&b group The Pussycat Dolls. In fact, Nicole was pretty much the only girl in the group more.

100 Enrique Iglesias Enrique Iglesias Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler, known professionally as Enrique Iglesias, is a Spanish singer, songwriter, record producer and actor.

Enrique is the best singer of all time. He sings from his soul and no one can be compared with him. He is even better than Michael Jackson. He deserves to be on the top. This list is wrong. Love you enrique!

Enrique is best no one can beat him. He has quality in his song, he deserves to be no1 unfortunately this list is wrong. First listen Michael jackson and then listen enrique, you will realize that enrique is best 4 ever

Enrique deserves to be number 1. He can sing way better then Michael Jackson. This list is so wrong.
