Best Singers of All Time

The Contenders: Page 7

121 Anthony Kiedis Anthony Kiedis Anthony Kiedis is an American singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the band Red Hot Chili Peppers, which he has fronted since its inception in 1983.

A! red hot chilli peppers is the best! I was at their concert last month and it was awesome! ALL YOU Bieber FANS AND Bieber GO TO HELL!

He's great I can't believe he's in the 60's TOP 10 BABY! I love his songs like dosed and under the bridge and don't even get me started on scar tissue. This guy is a singing god and deserves to be past all those random singers I've never heard of!

Just to say something to what the last person said; Anthony is not the only original member Flea is too.

Even though I'm a huge fan of his and the band, I will admit he was not the best singer when the Peppers started out, but he has evolved and he is amazing. He also performs like no one on stage, with the movements and dancing.Plus he exerts so much energy and passion when he sings.

Good guy.

122 Geoff Tate Geoff Tate Geoff Tate is a German-born American singer and musician who rose to fame in the 1980s with the progressive metal band Queensrÿche.

It is undeniable that Freddie Murcury is the greatest singer of all time but the reason I'm voting for Geoff Tate is because having him at number 153 is just a disgrace to music. This guy deserves to be in the top ten or at least in the top 20. This guy has a pair of vocals that could sing anything. I've made my friends listen to Queensryche and were all taken a back by how amazing this guy is. The only reason he's so low is because Queensryche isn't popular enough. - metalmaiden

Tate has an operatic rock voice, and can carry a high note forever. He would be perfect for Phantom of the Opera. His vocals our very powerful that can go high, but he has a natural low voice. He definitely deserves to be in the top ten for male singers.

99... this list is a joke... eddie vedder, geof tate... all of them not in the top ten slot... and only to be preceeded by britney! Tate is Progressive rock's staple diet.

Easily better than 9, if not all of the top tens places

123 Benjamin Burnley Benjamin Burnley Benjamin Jackson Burnley IV is an American musician, composer, and producer, best known as the founder and frontman of the American rock band Breaking Benjamin.

Can't beat him. No one knows him so therefore he's this far down on the list. Don't let metal suffocate in pop and hip-hop, and look up Breaking Benjamin in your spare time. - Giusti97

In my mind, Ben one of my favorite male singers, along with Roy Khan. Both are fantastic singers, with powerful, beautiful voices. It doesn't hurt that they both sing with phenomenal bands, and some of the best songs I've ever heard. (For the record, Breaking Benjamin is my favorite band, and Simone Simmons is my favorite singer of all time -- I don't see her on this list, though).

Hands down, my personal favorite of this list so far. I've gone out of my way to be a die-hard breaking benjamin fan. His songs are just epic. My favorite heavy songs are "I Will Not Bow" and "Had Enough", while Burnley is able to slow things down with "Forget It" and "Rain". He is incredibly, ridiculously underrated and tied for my fave singer of all time with Shaun Morgan.

He is legendary : )

124 Ray Charles Ray Charles Raymond Charles Robinson, professionally known as Ray Charles, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and composer.

COME ON! For god's sake, Demi Lovato is ahead of him! Great singer, piano-player and one of the most infuential artists of the 20th century.R.I. P! - GuitarZero

How is ray not on top?!? He is the best musician and singer of all time! He invented soul and was considered THE genius of show business. And being behind Corey Taylor makes me want to throw up.

Why is Ray so low on this list, although people like Ariana grande and Demi Lovato are not bad Ray Charles is one of the most influential artists of all time. I understand how people have their own opinions and stuff but do people not understand that Ray is a genius?

How in the hell is Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and all those singers above this guy. - venomouskillingmachine

125 Maynard James Keenan Maynard James Keenan Maynard James Keenan, often referred to by his initials MJK, is an American musician, record producer, winemaker, and actor, best known as the vocalist for Grammy Award-winning progressive metal band Tool.

If you Listen to Tool & A Perfect Circle and read the lyrics and all you who are voting for others will realize that Maynard James Keenan has most likely made the greatest vocal contribution to the world's music library of all singers so far. His vocal range is vast, from soft light and sensitive to heavy all consuming passion. Delivering the sacred words of life through intelligent & thought provoking lyrics. There is always an undeniable wisdom & subtlety in the lyrics & their delivery.
The instrumentation is always very unique. The Rhythms are very pure & polished and resonate perfectly with the emotion of the songs.
There is always an underlying Intelligence in the songs that reveals itself as the song progresses. With sensitivity, Maynard sings in ways that are therapeutic to the soul. Tribal and primal. Something very special for mankind.

I hate sounding like a Tool fanboy, but the fact that Maynard is even on the same list as folks like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, let alone below them, is a symptom of what is wrong with modern culture. This guy is seriously talented and his ability to drag you through emotions with his style is pretty amazing.

Never got that feeling listening to "Toxic".

This list is a joke. There's no reason for Maynard to be any lower than the top 5. I don't even see Geoff Tate on the list. This is just ridiculous. Sure MJ had a great voice, but Elton John's was used more dynamically. Sure, some 80's rock singers had great ranges, but Maynard's is just as good if not better than most... Not only that, but he can use that range softly, loudly, and passionately.

I think I saw Chester Bennington up there. Are you guys serious? You think he can scream? Listen to Ticks and Leaches, Eulogy, and Grudge? He's got power and length and can easily transition into the softest voice in rock in an instant. This list is a Joke.

He is the greatest and not even half ass pop fan driven ratings can deny that

127 George Michael George Michael Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, known professionally by his stage name George Michael, was an English singer, songwriter, and record producer.

Why is George Michael #98? He can sing and write better than all of these artists! I think he should be up with Freddie Mercury.

George is the definition of a GREAT ARTIST. And why is Justin Bieber on this list? I guess people don't know good music...

The list is ridiculous. Rating a singer on the the basis of cult status is not good, like the others have been rated. Here the list says Best singers of all time, and I strongly believe George is one of the best ever. You need to hear his songs to actually believe it. Amazing gift.

It was pure and perfect in his twenties and thirties, but now his voice is richer and more interesting, sometimes heartbreakigly beautiful, especially in his ballads.

George Michael at #125?! Seriously?!

128 Andrea Bocelli Andrea Bocelli Andrea Bocelli, OMRI, OMDSM is an Italian classical crossover tenor, recording artist, and singer-songwriter. Born with poor eyesight, he became permanently blind at the age of 12 following a football accident.

Andrea Bocelli should be way on the top. His voice is beyond beautiful, and sings from his heart. Yes he is blind, but I still love him. Because of him I began to like his music a lot more. I even had began to sing his songs, and had gotten better. People tell me that I have a beautiful voice like him, but I don't think so. They told me that I should join the choir, but I think it will take me years. And even then I will not come close to him. Is not easy to sing his songs, they're really challenging. But I have already learned to control my voice so is not difficult to do. But I do it for fun, but long live Bocelli anyways.

He made high-brow opera more accessible to the unsophisticated

I am melted hearing his voices. I owe you full Andrea Bocelli. Can we sing together?

Amazing - MayaBella

129 Prince Prince Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 - April 21st, 2016) was an American musician, best known for being one of the most popular and influential artists from the 80s, with songs such as "Purple Rain", "Little Red Corvette", "1999", and "When Doves Cry" .

Numerous Albums and no1 hits, vocal range is insane, entertainment factor is outstanding not to mention he records all his own instruments and dances like no tomorrow, if we are going on popularity then yes choose your poppy sensation but if we are bring it down to singing then prince should be definitely up there he isn't considered one of the greats for no reason!

Listen to "adore" or 'extraordinary' and 'the arms of orion' duet with sheena Eastern and then 'the most beautiful girl in the world'---such vocal range is amazing without compare. Then try 'i like it there' and 'damn u'... He ought to be charted higher, and he will be in time once you've been well exposed to more of his music

He should not be down here! He his vocals are INCREDIBLE and if it weren't for Prince, most of the people above him wouldn't be here! MOVE HIM UP!

Drake is not even a singer, and he is even an awful rapper. Why is he here?

If there's one thing I know is that never listen to a Canadian rapper like Drake. He is the worst. He should just go back to Canada.

He has nothing to say, I mean he's awful rapper.

Enrique is the best singer of all time. He sings from his soul and no one can be compared with him. He is even better than Michael Jackson. He deserves to be on the top. This list is wrong. Love you enrique!

Enrique is best no one can beat him. He has quality in his song, he deserves to be no1 unfortunately this list is wrong. First listen Michael jackson and then listen enrique, you will realize that enrique is best 4 ever

Enrique deserves to be number 1. He can sing way better then Michael Jackson. This list is so wrong.

This is a long and wrong list... Enrique Iglesias is the best!

Michael Hutchence is without a doubt the greatest singer and songwriter ever the song Don't Change has taught me not to try and be someone else to just be me and enjoy life I love him so much I wish he was still here....

Michael Hutchence deserves more then rank 214. Don't Change, Never Tear Us Apart, Need You Tonight, New Sensation. Best songs in the WORLD! WHAT HAS THIS WORLD COME TO? MICHAEL SHOULD BE NUMBER ONE! LOVE YA MICHAEL!

137 Chris Martin Chris Martin

Seriously? 112?

Chris Martin has such a special and beautiful voice! Why is he not in the top 20?

Coldplay is an amazing band with Chris Martin as an amazing Lead Singer! I just can't understand why people like Nicki Minaj are higher than Chris...

But it's the same with the modern music today... This anaconda is played on the radio...What happened with our world?

Okay, there are also really good songs in the charts and on the radio like The Script or Coldplay songs and I accept every person who has an other taste of music but you can't call Anaconda music!

So what I want to say is that I'm really sad that Chris Martin is so low on this list and that I can't understand why other crap singers are higher than him and by the way...Where is Danny O'Donoghue?

Chris Martin's voice is got to be the best voice I've ever heard in my entire life. He and Coldplay make the world go round with their touching and sensational songs they've written... GO COLDPLAY! - jprg12

Chris Brown before Chris Martin? He should be ranked a lot higher than that. Chris Martin can sing high, medium or low. He has got to be one of the best I have ever heard. He is so inspiring.. - Elaine22

People here are insane. If Taylor Swift is higher than Billy Joel... Just what. This guy deserves at least the top 100. He and his band made awesome music. - okcnaline

Chris Martin is one of the best singers I've heard, and a great live performer. Fix You, Yellow, The Scientists are so much better than most of the noise that gets produced. Chris deserves to be ranked higher in this list.

lol... this list is a joke! Karen Carpenter at #58?

My favorite vocalist, by far, is Karen Carpenter. Her voice has an inherent melancholy quality which makes it perfect for the Carpenters' many melancholy and sad songs. She had such a vulnerability in her voice that it makes me want to give her a comforting hug.

Nowhere will you find a voice as smooth and silky as hers. Some people say Barbra Streisand's voice is "like butter. " I believe that distinction belongs to Karen.

But Karen's voice possesses so many qualities and facets that I love. It is soothing and sweet, loving. And sometimes when she hits those super-low notes, it sends a chill up my spine to this day.

And sometimes when she is singing tenderly, her voice crackles, and again, you hear that vulnerability.

Some other adjectives I can use to describe her voice are warm, sincere, touching, loving, and soothing. It wraps you up like a fluffy blanket on a cold day. The emotion ...more - jonk0469

Karen had the most beautiful voice I have ever heard in my life time. Perfect pitch awesome vibrato and just sang effortless. She made you listen to the words with perfect phrasing and timming. Karen was not a belter and when you added a mic to that voice out came this flawless instrument, she knew her talent. No one can come close to that god given voice. Karen never made a mistake and it has been said she was incapable of singing off key. Amazing singer.

Smoothest, deepest female voice I've ever heard.

139 Brendon Urie Brendon Urie Brendon Boyd Urie, more commonly known as Brendon Urie, was born April 12, 1987, in St. George, Utah. He is an American singer, songwriter, musician and multi-instrumentalist. He is best own as the lead singer of the American pop-rock band Panic! At The Disco. He is the only original remaining member. ...read more.

This is bull. Brendon urie is an amazing singer. While people rate Katy Perry in the top 20, brendon's down here at 199. what. So many good singers are being shamed by the new generation, Alice Cooper, Prince, even Elton John is behind singers with no talent like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Rihanna. Back to urie, he has a better vocal range than the legend Freddy Mercury, consisting of four octaves and seven notes, and his lyrics are better than most of the popular music today. Just go listen to all of Panic! At The Disco's albums, singles, and even Brendon's solo stuff at the Billy Joel tribute and at Miss Universe, you won't be disappointed.

Why is Drake voted higher than him? He can't even SING. Brendon has a voice like a GOD. He is so underrated and it makes me sad. Same with Tyler Joseph, Patrick Stump, and Gerard Way. They only have their "mainstream" songs. Which for some reason, society likes to pick the ones where their voices aren't always magnificent. Like in Victorious, Brendon hit REALLY high notes in that one, but in Golden Days, when he sings Golden Days, it blows it off the roof. Tyler's voice in Stressed Out compared to Fairly Local. Patrick's voice compared to Centuries, to What A Catch, Donnie. Gerard's voice compared to Welcome To The Black Parade, to Sing.

His voice is magnificent, and if you watch the APMAs for 2015 the band New Politics called him God. He is a man who can swoon a girl just by hitting one note. Everyone likes Brendon. My sister and I, sometimes fight about turning off Fall Out Boy, because she is tired of Patrick's voice. And turning off My Chemical Romance, because I'm tired of Gerard's voice. But never once have we argued to turn off Panic! At the Disco. His voice is magic. It makes you want to listen to him. At a young age he came into the world of fame, and he will be the wonderful Brendon Urie until the day he dies.

This is insane that Brendon is so far down this list. His vocal range is HUGE! He really does have the best voice I’ve ever heard.

Amazing! Can't beat it! Listen to "So Lonely, " and be amazed... Should be much higher.

The Police are the greatest band of all time!!!

One of the most iconic voices in music history. Instantly recognizable. There is a reason that his career has extended over four decades and continues with a new rock album this year! (2016)

He has his own style and his writing is fabulous. He should be in the top 10.
