Best Singers of All Time

The Contenders: Page 9

161 Janet Jackson Janet Jackson Janet Jackson is a singer and dancer who is well known for her sexually graphic records, iconic performances, and slightly weak voice. She is regarded as a sex symbol through her songs and videos.

Janet Jackson should be tied with her brother. I mean like their the best of the of them all. They are still the best in this industry and still will be. But congrats at least she didn't come lower.

Janet is a good singer and was and still a good sister to Michael. Janet is beautiful, but she's been acting sexually crazy and freaky. I like that in female singers. I wish I could be disciplined by her like in her song Discipline.

Morteza pashaei=first in the world - nazli

I came all the way here to see one of the greatest artists of all time with an amazing voice to be 151 while Demi lovato is 50 what.

162 Damon Albarn Damon Albarn

Damon is incredibly talented and underrated. He is the creative genius behind three bands, a soundtrack writer for a movie, and his own solo work. He has an incredible voice and vocal range, its truly a shame he's behind pop singers who take no thought in writing meaningless lyrics and sound the same on every song just because its in current style, and the likes of singers like nikki minaj who rely on sex appeal for popularity.

An awesome and sometimes soothing singing voice. Love the songs mainly for Gorillaz, but still he is great with Blur. So far one of my favorite rockstars of all time.

Should be in top 50 at least

181, what?! I love him in Gorillaz

163 Mary J. Blige Mary J. Blige

She is the Queen of Hip Hop soul and has come a long way. Now we all know that when she was on drugs she didnt always sound the best, but when she was in her element, you cant mess with her. Now that she has been off the drugs her voice is amazing. She has her own style that no one else has. Should be in the top!!!

She has a very beautiful voice she should be top 15

164 Psy Psy Park Jae-sang, better known by his stage name Psy, stylized PSY, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, record producer and rapper.

He doesn't deserve to be on this list the only reason people like him because he is "hot" - docreywashere

Why is he even on this list? He can't song, all his songs are pointless teen pop crap, and he is the crappiest guitar player of all time. - therootbeer

Ross is so cute and he is really talented he shouldn't be allowed the way on 200

he's gay

168 Elizabeth Gillies Elizabeth Gillies Elizabeth Egan "Liz" Gillies is an American actress and singer. She appeared in several television series and commercials, before acquiring her first significant role prior to her 17th birthday, playing Jade West on the television series Victorious.

Elizabeth is not as mean as she is on Victorious. She is a nice person off camera and a good singer. I think Victoria, Ariana, and her should be a girl singing group.

I LOVE ELIZABETH GILLIES! She is talented and kind and amazing at singing!

169 Mike Shinoda Mike Shinoda Michael Kenji "Mike" Shinoda is an American musician, rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, graphic designer, manager and film composer.

Mike Shinoda is really an amazing talent and has an incredible voice. He can sing (and rap! ) so softly but also really rock it with Linkin Park and Fort Minor. He's also fantastic live, I've seen him on stage once & loved every single second of the show.

What about Mike? What a joke? He is not in the list of 385 top singers. Mike who can rock with Linkin Park and Rap with Fort Minor. The fans who can die for his voice and had won many awards.

Mike should be in top 20 at least. He can sing like an angel, and he can rap hardcore. He is one of the best singers of all time... 128? You all should be ashamed..

Number 1...no words!

170 Tim McIlrath Tim McIlrath Timothy James "Tim" McIlrath is an American punk rock musician. He is the lead singer, rhythm guitarist, songwriter and co-founder of the American punk rock band Rise Against.

Rumour states that Tim McIlrath is the God of Punk Rock
Hey say his vocal chords themselves are made of lightning and imbued with the power to change the world when combined with his breath-taking, emotive and eternally significant lyrics.

Tim's mighty scream is a force to be reckoned with due to it's incredible ability to cast waves of fury upon those who don't care for the world we live in and support war or violence in any form. However, it also has an, arguably, more important element embedded within; the power to save lives.

I don't know why this guy is down here...
really? justin bieber? britney spears?
better than this guy?
what the hell do people nowadays are listening to?
and where the hell is dave grohl?
- myself123

I love how people vote singers who sound nothing like they do on albums when singing live. Tim sounds almost exactly the same, except for maybe a few adjustments on albums to make Rise Against songs sound perfect. Either way, needs to be much farther up on the list.

Tim's voice really really awesome

His vocal range is awesome and I guess a great singer should have a variety of vocal skills and agility. This guy sings with melisma. He was once considered to hae the most trained voice. And its difficult for a dude to sing with ladies, but his artiste sometimes outperform the ladies. He is also an artiste that is almost perfectly on key. He is just amazing. Definitely one of the greatest singers of all time

172 John Legend John Legend John Roger Stephens, better known by his stage name John Legend, is an American singer, songwriter, musician and actor.

John Legend has made a mark upon the music industry that will never be erased. As a six-time GRAMMY Award winner, Legend has garnered respect not only for his chart-topping singles and smooth, velvety vocals, but he has also become one of the last mainstream vanguards of contemporary soul music.

Hey! John Legend is cool! He is his last name! He shouldn't be 214!

He is such an amazing singer

He has a great voice

173 Sam Smith Sam Smith Samuel Frederick "Sam" Smith is an English singer-songwriter. He rose to fame in October 2012 when he was featured on Disclosure's breakthrough single "Latch", which peaked at number eleven on the UK Singles Chart.

Katy Perry being higher than this guy pretty much proves this list is a joke. This guy is a better singer than most singers in music history. He can reach vocals that are impossible for most singers to reach. He has a great vocal range and he sounds better live than his studio recordings.

Sam is talented he should at least be in the top 20 not in 192

Sam smith has one of the best voices now here in 2014

Why is he so low, money in my mind got second best hits on the score board chart of the decade he just has to be well put up the list at least in the top 25

Good for her time

175 Brad Delp Brad Delp Bradley Edward "Brad" Delp was an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist of the rock bands Boston and RTZ.

How anybody could listen to Boston and not put Bradley Delp (at least) in the top ten is beyond me. I always thought, even before his untimely death, that his voice was THE voice of American Hard Rock, and was only rivaled by Freddie Mercury. Those two wrestle for the number one spot in a league of thier own.

This guy should be in the top 5 if not the first. I'm a big Boston fan, but in my opinion- very underrated singer. seriously listen some of his songs like More Than A Feeling, Long Time, Rock n roll band etc... His vocal range is astonishing and every time I hear him hitting those high notes I get a goosebumps.

His voice was like velvet. In my mind, he defined the 70s, and I loved all the work he did with Boston over the years. Brad... you shouldn't have killed yourself, man. Depression is a serious disease. If anyone reading this feels that way, please seek help!

Listen to the Acapella versions of some Boston's songs and you will realize just how much his voice makes the music.
Amazing range! Should be at the top!

176 Judy Garland Judy Garland Judy Garland, born Frances Ethel Gumm (June 10, 1922 – June 22, 1969) was an American singer, actress, and vaudevillian. The American Film Institute named her 8th greatest female star of classic American cinema. She's also the mother of actress and singer Liza Minnelli.

Judy Garland played the role of "Dorothy" in the classic film "The Wizard of OZ, " and popularized one of the all-time best hits, "Over the Rainbow;" she had a powerful, clean voice even at a very tender age back in the 1950s, as Jackie Evancho, Bianca Ryan, and Nita Blanc now have in the 2010s. The world lost a tremendous talent much too soon in her career.

How can Judy Garland not be on this list let alone not in the top ten... She is the best there has ever been... Her voice is perfection personified... - FeatherFour

Judy Garland is the greatest singer in the world. She is so amazing. There is no reason that she is not number one on this list. She is my favorite singer. She is number one in my heart. I can't believe that Britney Spears beat her.

The person who made this chart probably never seen a lassic movie

178 Anne Murray Anne Murray Morna Anne Murray known professionally as Anne Murray, is a Canadian singer in pop, country, and adult contemporary music whose albums have sold over 55 million copies worldwide.

She had a voice that you just wanted to listen to, whatever the quality of the song. I greatly regret that I only became aware of her when her career was almost over. It's one of music's greatest tragedies that her arrangements and her musical backup were so lousy. If it hadn't been for that, she would have been one of the greatest. Even a great voice like hers needs support. She had none; in fact, what musical "support" she had can more properly be described as a distraction, an irritant Her material was also poor. Unfortunately, when she sung the standards, she also suffered from the same fatal flaws. If she had only had a good arranger. Sigh.

179 Shreya Ghoshal Shreya Ghoshal Shreya Ghoshal is an Indian playback singer. She has received four National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards and eight Filmfare Awards South to date.

If you still doubt if she is best singer, listen to: Broken Promises by Shreya Ghoshal - Ek Deewana the.
That is just one but there are end less list of this godly voice!

Her voice takes you away to distances you never been.. Just travel with it.

She is the recent sweetest voice of India. She has a very sweet voice and she sings in many languages.

I have listnt her voice shreya is best singer all over the world her voice take away from our life often I listen her song alone and all my tension take away

She is a great singer

180 Geddy Lee Geddy Lee Geddy Lee Weinrib, known professionally as Geddy Lee, is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist, bassist, and keyboardist for the Canadian rock group Rush.

Okay first of all everyone likes Michael Jackson's voice just because rolling stone likes it. Geddy hits notes do high it is mind-blowing. And secondly Selena gomez and Phil Collins better than geddy lee? No way. Plus Elvis Presley was good but he does not know proper grammar because he can not pronounce an S. Go geddy! Keep on rocking!

I understand why he is here on this list. Although I happen to love his singing and I think he should be higher on the list (especially due to his absolutely astonishing range), his technique, vibrato, and tone are all bad. While his bass and vocal range are amazing, Geddy has always had somewhat questionable vocal control.

When I first listened to Rush, I thought Geddy Lee was a girl. The high notes this guy can hit is amazing. However, his control isn't as good, and that's why high note singers like Michael Jackson are rated higher. - naFrovivuS

Really? 181? Geddy’s voice In the first decades of rush were one of the most unique voices I’ve ever heard; really too bad his voice has rusted with time.
