Top Ten Sleeping at Last Songs
This somewhat obscure artist writes some of the most poignant lyrics and beautiful music.
Touching. It truly makes you just feel. It's quite an odd sensation. It's a feeling that takes over your body and you feel at peace. It's what I would call a musical Masterpiece.
This song actually gave me a feeling of real release for the first time since my boyfriend passed away. It just said everything I couldn't put into words my self. I am certain I will love this song for as long as I live.
First time I heard this song I cried my eyes out lol. The kind of song you listen when you want to be emotional because it's so poetic. Probably the best song for me in the Atlas: Space album, along with Earth.
This song makes me believe I'm in another world, and whether in good or bad times I always feel hope and peace. This is a beautiful work of art

I believe that lyrics to their "planet" songs also incorporate the symbolic meaning of the planet and even the related zodiac sign - Mars (Ares) is the god of war and rules the zodiac sign of Aries.
"While a brand new war began, one that no one else coul feel."
This haunting look at the mental effects of going off to war, fighting, and returning. The lyrics are incredibly poetic and impactful.

"Darkness exists to make light truly count."
This song more than any other displays something about Sleeping at Last that makes them so special. Their songs are rarely completely happy or completely sad, but rather reflect on harsh realities of the world, but also note the wonder and beauty that it contains. This song tells a heartbreaking story of a person who has to be a guardian of a child who loses their mother, and ends with one of the most poignant lyrics ever (see above).
These guys make great music with great lyrics. I wish they were more popular.

"Your eyes will need some time to adjust to the overwhelming light surrounding us."
This song is sung by a new parent to their newborn child. It is a beautifully composed, thoughtful ode to what it means to be a parent.

Normally not the most popular of Ryan's, so I was surprised to see it on fourth here. This is my favourite of his though, which is saying a lot, because I love so many of his songs so much. The mix of sad lyrics in a major key just works for this, perhaps because of the fact that it's C Major.
"One day I had enough of this exercise of trust. I leaned in and let it hurt. Let my body feel the dirt."
This song is special to me because I easily relate to its topic of social anxiety.
The song to me is about overcoming anxiety and just living. That's why I love the instrumental parts of it because they are so happy and light.
I like this line "The heaviness in my heart belongs to gravity."

"I am dissonance, waiting to be swiftly pulled into tune"
This song is a masterpiece among masterpieces, each lyric is so well written that it can turned into a quote, and it hit me especially hard since I could relate to the lyrics.
"I am desperate, if nothing else, in a holding pattern, to find myself."
This song expresses the feeling of being torn between two identities and the search for self- identity, in Sleeping At Last's signature poetic style.
I think these "two identities" also refer to the zodiac sign Gemini (twins) where planet Mercury is the symbolic ruler.

"We may fall in love every time we open up our eyes."
This song describes the birth of the universe with beaufitul lyrics, vocals, and music.

"It's all over, I'm standing pretty. In this dust that was our city."
This cover takes an 80s pop hit and reveals it to be what it was intended to be: a tragic anti- war song. With O'Neal's vocals, the song becomes a harrowing picture of what a global war could be like.

"While the storms may push and pull, we will call this place our home."
Another song from Atlas that describes a family moving into their first house and overcoming hardships.

Really portrays Earth as a planet accurately? Like I don't know how to describe it but it just captures its essence as an often war torn planet. It’s just really beautiful.
I started crying to this song, I think it should be right below saturn
How is this not higher

This song is one of most beautiful things ever written.
I was sobbing the first time I heard it. It's truely amazing.

The best cover you can listen of sleeping at last
really makes me cry whenever I listen it
Beautiful song. Heart touching.

Its honestly MY favorite
"I’m only honest when it rains/ if I time it right the thunder breaks when I open my mouth.”
I cried so much when I first heard this song. Especially this lyric because it’s about not wanting to tell someone something that’ll hurt so badly, and doing everything you can to put it off but at the end you can’t. I’m actually surprised Sun isn’t the top contender.

"I thought I'd never find you. Then suddenly I see you."
A simple love song seems a bit mundane for Sleeping at Last, but it fit with the "Space" concept as Venus is the god of love.

I know a masterpiece when I hear it, and this song is just that. It is deep and relatable for those dealing with their mental health. Pure perfection.
Touch is the most heart-attacked song that I cried every time when I listen.

Builds beautifully through repetition, the story behind its making is pretty amazing as well

A relatable song for immigrants everywhere.

Simply... Amaxing!

Even though it doesn't have any lyrics, it's beautiful.

If love's elastic, then were we born to test it's reach?

This song accurately presents sorrow, while still providing hope or light at the end. Its sad but its beautiful.

It's such a gorgeous song. It's lyrics question the fragility of faith, and feelings of being so small in this gigantic universe. It's my favorite song from Sleeping at Last
