When you think about it, without armin, literally almost all the characters would have been dead. He was was the one that told hannes where eren and mikasa were. He was the one that came up with the plan to get into the supply room. He was the one that figured out annie was a titan. He was the one that helped save krista and retrieve back the 3dm gear. Without armin, humanity would have been gone by now.
I love Hange, but I kinda think Armin is just the teeniest tiniest bit smarter...
Hange did find the Titan's origins, but Armin came up with ALL OF THE PLANS and ALL OF THEM WORKED.
Plus, his birthday is November 3rd, which in Japan, November 3rd is known as "Culture Day", and holiday for promoting culture, the arts, and academic endeavor. And also I think Armin was 1st in academics. So there ya go, Armin is pretty much a genius.
