Sanitation is a big part of it, and the food eaten there is a lot different from here, and will cause smellier sweat, so that may be part of it too.

Unfortunately India has poor sanitation, I firmly believe that in India the gods are washed more than humans wash themselves (don't think hygiene is an important part, or a part at all in their faith) ;/
