Greatest Snipers in History

The Top Ten
1 Simo Hayha (The White Death) Simo "Simuna" Häyhä, nicknamed "White Death" by the Red Army, was a Finnish marksman. Using a Finnish M/28-30 rifle and the Suomi KP/-31 Submachine Gun, in the Winter War, he is reported as having killed 505 men, the highest recorded number of confirmed sniper kills in any major war.

Greatest sniper of all time with more than 500 kills in his name, he was extraordinary, with his gun, he would dress in white winter camouflage, and carry with him only a day's worth of supplies and ammo. while hiding out in the snow, he would then take out any Russian who entered his killing zone. he preferred to use iron sights on his gun instead of scopes, as scopes had a tendency to glare in the sunlight and reveal his position. soviets feared him so much that they mounted numerous counter sniper and artillery attacks to get rid if him, all of them failed miserably.

Considering this guy's amazing number of kills to his name, he also endured -40 temperatures and used only a metal site, WOW! I'm lost for words..just imagine how scared those Russian soldiers must have been.

2 Carlos Hatchcock II (White Feather Sniper)

Fun fact: Saving Private Ryan copied off Hathcock. The sniper scene where Jackson shoots through the Nazi sniper's scope didn't come from Spielberg's originality, it was copied off from a real-life event where Hathcock, on a special mission, shoots through the Cobra's sniper scope in a split second.
