Best Songs on the Album Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan

I am genuinely surprised that no one has made this list. It's a great album, and it's also the beginning of Becker and Fagen's emergence as an independent duo.
The Top Ten
1 Rikki Don't Lose That Number

The lead single, and the one track everyone will recognize. I think they made the right choice. Also, Jeff Baxter's guitar solo is tremendous.

Congratulations on beating some to compile this list. This is actually my favourite Steely Dan song of all time.

2 Pretzel Logic

Overall, a really solid tune and one of my favorites of theirs.

3 Any Major Dude Will Tell You

The melody and chord progression are both very clever. It's also one of their more heartfelt songs.

4 Night by Night

This song is about going out and experiencing the darker sides of the city and living the dark life.

5 Parker's Band

A tribute to the music of Charlie Parker. The intro guitar solo is really neat.

6 Barrytown

This song is about the Unification Theological Seminary in Barrytown, New York, close to where the Steely Dan members lived. The Unification Church behaves more like a cult than a church, and the song portrays a normal man's reaction to them.

7 East St. Louis Toodle-Oo

The only cover song they recorded. They did it as a tribute to Duke Ellington, who died around the time the album was released.

8 Monkey in Your Soul

For some reason, this kinda reminds me of The Band. The horns are awesome.

9 With a Gun

A country-style two step with some great guitar playing.

10 Charlie Freak

This song is about a homeless man who sells his gold ring to a guy on the street and uses the money to buy drugs. He overdoses and dies.
