Top 10 Songs that are the Odd Ones Out of the Album

BrianScott01
This means that one song is very different to the other tunes on the album.

The Top Ten

1 Money - Pink Floyd (The Dark Side of The Moon)

The rest on DSOTM are slow-paced, sort of depressing songs or instrumentals. - BrianScott01

2 I'm In Love With My Car - Queen (A Night At The Opera)

It's the only song sung by the drummer, Roger Taylor. - BrianScott01

3 When the Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin (IV)

This is the only one to really be plagiarised on the album. Yes, Stairway sounds somewhat alike to Spirit's Taurus even though Taurus is in A Minor but since Zeppelin won the lawsuit, I'm not going to say Stairway is plagiarised. - BrianScott01

4 Mr. Soul - Buffalo Springfield (Buffalo Springfield Again)

The only song where Neil Young does lead vocals. - BrianScott01

5 Ticket to Ride - The Beatles (Help!)

The only Help! song that is over 3 minutes long. - BrianScott01

6 Gimme a Bullet - AC/DC (Powerage)

The only Powerage song without a guitar solo. Even though it doesn't seem like there's one in Rock n Roll Damnation, there's technically one behind Bon's screams at the end. - BrianScott01

7 The Bold Arrow of Time - Tame Impala (Innerspeaker)

It's the only Innerspeaker song without lyrics. - BrianScott01

8 Not Now John - Pink Floyd (The Final Cut)

Pretty much the same as Dark Side. This one is really the only heavy-ish one. Also, it's the only one that features Gilmour on vocals. - BrianScott01

9 Life By the Drop - Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble (The Sky Is Crying)

The only song on this album without drums. - BrianScott01

10 Transformer Man - Neil Young (Lucky Thirteen)

It's the only Lucky Thirteen song where Neil's voice is changed to sound like a robot. - BrianScott01

The Contenders

11 Orion - Metallica

It's a instrumental on a album where every other song has vocals - christangrant

12 Fluff - Black Sabbath (Sabbath Bloody Sabbath)
13 (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth - Metallica
14 The Call of Ktulu - Metallica
15 The Bard's Song (In the Forest) - Blind Guardian

It's a acoustic ballad on a Metal Album - christangrant

16 Voice of the Soul - Death

A instrumental with both Acoustic and Electric Guitar - christangrant

17 Tattered & Torn - Slipknot

The song structure is pretty different compared to the rest of the album. - TheMaelstromKing

18 Strange World - Iron Maiden

A slow, ballad-like song while the rest of the album is heavy and fast. (Not saying that makes it bad) - TheMaelstromKing

19 To Live is to Die - Metallica
20 Human Insecticide - Annihilator

The only song with no guitar solo. It's also odd for another reason - this guitarist often puts more than 1 solo in a song. - Metal_Treasure

21 Perfect Strangers - Deep Purple

The only song with no guitar solo. Moreover, Ritchie Blackmore was one of the guys who often played 2 solos in one song but not here. - Metal_Treasure

22 Theatre of Pain - Blind Guardian

The only song with a symphonic arrangement. Sounds so different from the other songs but not less exciting. - Metal_Treasure

23 Pictures of Home - Deep Purple

The only song with 5 solos (played on 4 instruments). - Metal_Treasure

24 Symphonie - Silbermond

A piano driven pop ballad on a guitar driven alternative rock album. - Martin_Canine

25 Death Is Not the End - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

The only song on the album where no murder occurs. Actually, not even a death.
Also the only song that's neither original nor traditional. - Martin_Canine

26 Moondance - Nightwish

The only instrumental song on the album. - Martin_Canine

27 The Eyes of Sharbat Gula - Nightwish

The only instrumental song on the album. - Martin_Canine

28 Fisch im Wasser - Nina Hagen Band

The only acapella song on the album, the only non-rock song on the album and the only song on the album shorter than a minute. - Martin_Canine

29 Hit the Road Jack - Tic Tac Toe

The only song without rapping, the only jazz/soul song, and the only cover song. - Martin_Canine

30 Ancestors - Björk

The only song that's not acapella, the only that doesn't have lyrics, and the only song that is horrible to listen to. Björk, you are one of the greatest artists out there, your music is pure modern art, why did you do that? Why did you go for pretentiousness? - Martin_Canine

31 Wenn es Abend wird - Die Ärzte

The only volksmusik song on the punk rock album. But it's not an average volksmusik song.
Volksmusik is a traditional and usually light hearted and nostalgic genre for elderly people in the Alpine regions. In other words: the entire opposite of Die Ärzte's fanbase. Now, Die Ärzte started the song off like a regular volksmusik song: they describe a peaceful village and the wonderful landscapes, but as the song goes on, it gets darker. He reveals a policeman drives while drunk, then a woman who has poisoned her husband after she caught him humping the cows, a man keeping secret his father has died years ago so he can get his pension, a 17 year old getting her third child from her father,... you see what I mean.
It's more of an anti-volksmusik song breaking the peaceful joyful atmosphere, but musically, this stands out as much as a song can stand out from an album. - Martin_Canine

32 Help, I'm a Rock - The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band
