You and me, baby, ain't nothing but mammals, so let's do it like they do it on Discovery Channel.
Certainly of a different quality than the other songs on this list, but still sonewhat clever and allusion-laden.
This is a brilliant song. It is about the feeling of being trapped and powerless to change your behavior or your life due to circumstances beyond your control. It is about the sense of desperation you feel as your life passes before your eyes and you struggle unsuccessfully to control and shape it. It is about the perpetual conflict between the path you want to follow and the path you are compelled to follow.
A song about life and death
It's so good
Can you hear the silence
Can you see the dark?
Can you fix the broken
Can you feel, can you feel my heart?
I'm scared to get close, I hate being alone
I long for that feeling to not feel at all
The higher I get, the lower I sink
I can't drown my demons they know how to swim
Ridiculously low on list!
"because lf you, I believe in angels, no not the kind with wings, no, not the kind with halos, but the kind that take you home when home becomes a strange place"
The lyrics are about as deep as stairway to heaven and Won't get fooked again - Lord28
There's a load of wordplay, complicated rhyming, double entendres, symbolism, and just plain scathing condemnation of the modern workplace here. Fantastic.
The best lyrics Roger Waters has ever written and that says a lot considering the amount of brilliant songs he's done. Like 'Animals' and other concept albums, i.e. 'The Wall', 'Dark side of the moon', 'Wish you were here' and 'The Final Cut' are totally in a league of their own.
Greatest song of all time withs some very true and emotional lyrics
Who was born in a house full of pain.
Who was trained not to spit in the fan.
Who was told what to do by the man.
Who was broken by trained personnel.
Who was fitted with collar and chain.
Who was given a pat on the back.
Who was breaking away from the pack.
Who was only a stranger at home.
Who was ground down in the end.
Who was found dead on the phone.
Who was dragged down by the stone.
This song sound so happy but is really sad
I love this song! I am going to do a cover someday! It is so amazing. I love it so much! Way better than "Stitches" by Shawn Mendes! :D - DynastiSugarPopV 1 Comment
The best song ever. I can't imagine life without this song. So masterful and full of different lyrics and tunes. Anyone who even remotely likes metal music should definitely try this song. It'll get you hooked on Nightwish forever. (By the way, Nightwish is the most brilliant band probably ever. And I'm not biased toward Nightwish.)
Beautiful song! NOthing better!V 1 Comment
This song is a full story, and a revelation for everyone who wants space in a relationship, but not for it to end. Touching.
