61 The Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin

Best song ever, I listen to it every day.

62 The Crystal Ship - The Doors

Beautiful and poignant and chilling...They played this at Jim's funeral. He knew what he was in for before it even began...you can hear it in this song, not just in the words but in his voice and the music. It's like a sweet death march or a soft parade.

63 Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd

This is one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs and it has really great lyrics! - TheThomasThomas

I never knew things ended up so badly for Pink...
I mean when she sang So What she seemed so carefree and happy... But then I listened to this album and
... Her dad died in a war then she had marriage issues then something about worms... RIP Pink

64 Halo - Beyonce

This song is so amazing! My favorite Beyonce' song ever. It has so much power and the words are beautiful! I just love it! Should be further up!

Beautiful song... If you ever have built walls to protect yourself and later have it broken down by someone... Well this is your anthem!

Very touching, reaches some kind of divine stratosphere in my soul. Powerful enigmatic!

Too good both to hear n watch...

65 Maggots Ate Her Brain - The Lurking Corpses
66 Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Personally, one of the best and more iconic 90's songs. I wouldn't rate it lower than mid 25 in this list, it's full of meaning with smart rhymes and references. The song is mainly about the dark side of Hollywood and how the western industry "brainwashed" the world into thinking the only way to feel completed is fame. Pornography, plastic surgery, conspiracies and such. An awesome song, with a great tune and surprisingly deep lyrics about the Dark side of the Showbiz.

This song should be rated much higher. The meanings the song conveys are quick, to the point and snappy. It makes a lot of comparisons as well as references very intelligently. The song also has a lot of double meanings which helps to strengthen every line. You can listen to the song over and over and still discover new meaning with what it is trying to say.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are WAY TOO LOW on this list. They have some of the best lyrics I have ever heard, from albums like Stadium Arcadium and Californication. It's sad how lyrical genius is often forgotten by more popular and mainstream music, whose artists do not even write their own music, and have non-intellectual lyrics, but catchy music.

Should be rated mid 30's

67 A Day in the Life - The Beatles

Next to imagine this is my favorite song. I was the one who put "This song is so good that person who killed john even sang this song except for one new lyric"
"Imagine John Lennon is Dead." I mean who would say this!
Third is here there and everywhere than let it be and last but not least Give peace a chance. - SBT

This song is the best ever written by Lennon & McCartney together. Every part of this song was perfectly arranged. Just brilliant... Maybe the best ever.

Arguably the best song by (hardly arguably) the best band in the world. Also some of the best lyrics lennon has written, far superior to the obvious preacherism of "imagine", which doesn't state anything we all didn't know already.

The other 99 of you obviously haven't even heard it otherwise this would be at the top, way above crap like Eminem and Michael jackson

68 Dance With the Devil - Immortal Technique

Fantastic choice. Absolutely belongs on this list. Not all that ecstatic that it is only one spot above a Taylor Swift song. I feel this song tells a much deeper story than most of the songs on here. As far as lyrics go this song embodies a struggle all us human beings go through.

"Everyone trying to be trife, never face the consequences
You probably only did a month for minor offenses
Ask a n**** doing life if he had another chance
But then again there's always the wicked that knew in advance
Dance forever with the devil on a cold cell block
But that's what happens when you rape, murder and sell rock
Devils used to be gods, angels that fell from the top
There's no diversity because we're burning in the melting pot"

Tells a great story, this song is the most underrated song of all time, and it goes the same with Immortal Technique. The brilliance of this song makes it one of the greatest not only Rap song of all time, but Best Songs of all time. A great lyricist... - roblist

A really strong song which after you finish hearing it you end up traumatized! Seriously

69 Same Love - Macklemore

It is a beautiful song that describes the right to choice... And also of how low we think... A thoughtful song that makes you question your thinking!

This song should really be higher in the list! It makes me cry every time I listen to it.

Never listen to that song yet, but after reading those lyrics they are deep, well written and honest, I've got to say without even hearing the song..pretty moving.

70 The Unforgiven - Metallica

Not the best lyrics I've ever heard but it should be at least in the top 14. Go Metallica!

The lyrics, in my opinion are the best, touchy, feely and not to mention heartly, its definitely one of the best lyrics

71 Evil Angel - Breaking Benjamin
72 Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley

I know there are plenty of other songs that have way better lyrics, but, come on! It's the Rick-roll! - RiverClanRocks

What a bag of unimaginative, bland and talentless vomit.

Star of brition in the 80s trust me

73 Waiting for My Real Life to Begin - Colin Hay
74 God Only Knows - The Beach Boys

One of the most meaningful songs ever written

Best ever love song

75 Headstrong - Trapt

I don't know why this is on the list...I mean the lyrics are not bad but I've seen and heaed much better...just weird..

76 God - John Lennon
77 Summer, Highland Falls - Billy Joel
78 Be Yourself - Audioslave
79 Dear God - XTC
80 Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year.
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found? The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
Writer: WATERS, ROGER/GILMOUR, David JON

It's just poetic. May be hard for someone to understand a so deep meaning... Should be in top 10 in my opinion!

This isn't a song. It's a poem. It's such a beautifully worded masterpiece of how much they miss Syd Barret.
"How I wish, h is I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year"
