Best Songs Between Blind Guardian and Annihilator
Man, you put on one list some of my favorite metal songs of all time! But because I like them all, I can't choose and can't make a remix, LOL.
Annihilator and Blind Guardian are 2 of my most favorite metal bands.
A 14 minute long and very intricate song with perfect build up. It has so many tracks that it alone required as much production time as the rest of the album (A Night at the Opera, 2002). This song has 3 versions: single, album and re-recorded version of 2012. I like the most the re-recorded version which they made for the compilation album Memories of a Time to Come (appears on the song sample).
As I said, I can't make a remix but I will make many comments to make up for it, LOL.
When I wanna hear many great riffs in one song I listen to this - it's composed of fast yet melodic thrash riffs and almost has no lyrics (only 2-3 lines). The solo is also one of my favorite solos. Jeff Waters is just a riff and solo master.
Sometimes I think this is my favorite Annihilator song - fast and heavy. Schizos Are Never Alone is very favorite, too, but it's more like an instrumental.
This has to be one of the most beautiful songs by a thrash band (for the riffs and solo). But the story is very sad and quite scary.
To me this is the most beautiful power metal song - probably not the best but the most beautiful. It also has this poetic line "Nightfall quietly crept in and changed us all".
Probably the best Blind Guardian chorus or at least the chorus fans love to sing at live shows the most: "Valhalla - Deliverance. Why've you ever forgotten me? "
It was either this or Bard's Song that was my first Blind Gaurdian song. I don't really remember. But it's probably my favorite song by them anyway.
How a voice can be so divine... How Hansi gets a raw aggressive voice on other songs and then an amazingly smooth voice on songs like this one.
One of the best speed metal songs, if not the best. This song was track #1 on their debut album, their drummer Thomas Stauch was only 17.
This song is a bonus track to their 2015 album - I guess the reason must have been: the song is pretty soft. I absolutely love it though.
Can't get enough of these riffs.
Another epic and perfect song in my opinion, this time from their 2015 album. I didn't find even minor flaws in this song after 2 years of frequent listening. Awesome choruses and pre-choruses. My favorite section is from 5:30-6:30.
Not long ago some metal fans exchanged opinions about snare drum in thrash and the need to use more fills, change the beat and so on.
Well, this song is a perfect example of how this should be done - in the middle of the song Randy Black plays a 1 minute long double bass drum solo. It isn't very difficult but it's very fast and changing the beat sounds awesome to me, especially where it is placed.
One of my most favorite Blind Guardian songs - it's very intense and Hansi vocals are so emotional.
