Top Ten Songs to Compare Which One is Heavier

The Top Ten
1 Pleasure to Kill (Kreator) or Angel of Death (Slayer)

To me Pleasure to Kill.

2 People = S**t (Slipknot) or Hammer Smashed Face (Cannibal Corpse)

I think it's quite obvious.

3 Holy Wars (Megadeth) or Master of Puppets (Metallica)

Master of Puppets sounds heavier to me

To me Master of Puppets.

4 Symptom of the Universe (Black Sabbath) or Stone Cold Crazy (Queen)

Hmm this one is tough, but Stone Cold Crazy has more aggressive vocals and heavier solo so I'm going with Stone Cold Crazy.

5 Speed King (Deep Purple) or Black Sabbath (Black Sabbath)

Both of them have different tempos. The intro of Speed King which was played by whammy bar, is very heavy. Cause it made a very low pitched sound. But Black Sabbath had more low pitched riff. But I'll go with Speed King. If not anything then only for the whammy intro.

For me Speed King is heavier because it has more extreme elements - it's faster, louder and has more aggressive instrumentation and more aggressive vocals. Speed and aggression are key elements of extreme music (metal, hardcore punk, etc.).

To me Speed King. Same as Helter Skelter vs I Want You.

6 Helter Skelter or I Want You She's So Heavy (The Beatles)

To me Helter Skelter, speed is heavier than doom to me.

7 Kick Out the Jams (MC5) or Iron Man (Black Sabbath)

I know people who mostly into more distorted riffs and doomy songs would say Iron Man, but to me Kick Out the Jams won this competition.

For me Kick Out the Jams is heavier.

8 You Will Know My Name (Arch Enemy) or Arise (Sepultura)

Arise. Maybe You Will Know My Name has growl vocals, but it's cheesy a bit, while Arise is not.

9 Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana) or Jesus Christ Pose (Soundgarden)

Agree with this one, too: Jesus Christ Pose is heavier

10 Blitzkrieg Bop (Ramones) or Anarchy in the U.K. (Sex Pistols)

While I like Blitzkrieg Bop much better than Anarchy in the U.K., Sex Pistols were almost early hardcore, while Ramones were poppy most of the time.
