1) its music was taken from the French song "Comme d'habitude" so "My Way" by Frank Sinatra is actually a cover song
2) the French song was discovered by Paul Anka, a Canadian musician who wrote English lyrics to the same music and gave the song to Frank Sinatra
3) Paul Anka bought the copy rights for... $1 (he contacted the authors for the publication and adaptation rights)
4) Paul Anka told Elvis Presley that it was not a song that would suit him but Elvis covered it in spite of Paul Anka's suggestions
