Top 10 Songs on Into Eternity's The Scattering of Ashes

The Scattering of Ashes is the fourth full-length studio album by Canadian metal band Into Eternity, released in 2006.
It's the first album to feature vocalist Stu Block, who later became known as the singer for American band Iced Earth (since 2011).

Some Iced Earth fans would be surprised to learn that Stu Block was a death metal vocalist - in this album he provided both clean and death vocals, and he did both very well. Stu frequently switches from clean to death vocals and vice versa within one song. I love it.

Into Eternity played several metal subgenres but this album is mostly Melodic / Progressive death metal.
The Top Ten
1 Timeless Winter

There's an official video clip on YT and when I first saw it I couldn't believe Stu Block was growling. And so good.

2 Severe Emotional Distress
3 Pain Through Breathing
4 Suspension of Disbelief
5 Surrounded by Night

A soft song with no death growls.

6 A Past Beyond Memory

Guitars here really go Yngwie-style neoclassical (though guitarist plays neoclassical style most of the time, here the influence is bigger)

7 Paralyzed
8 Out
9 Nothing
10 Eternal
The Contenders
11 Novus Inceptum

A short intro song (1:40 minutes), instrumental
