Honestly, this album isn't bad at all. Yeah, its not their best but its definitely not their worst. The only two things I found to be off were some of the cheesy lyrics and how repetitive some amazing songs turned out to be. Most people dislike this album because of Blaze Bayley, but I honestly think he improved his vocals on this one. For example, this song. The chorus is fantastic and the way he hits those notes just causes this song to be beautiful.
Also, The Angel and the Gambler would probably be Bayley's best song after sign of the cross if it wasnt so reptitive. Its very progressive and Unique and man, those organs are well used!
I'd rate this album 7.5/10, just my opinion
To be honest I love virtual xi I don't give a funk what people say its not my favorite or worst. Songs like futereal clansman two worlds collide educated fool eye of stranger and como estais amigos are gems
In my top 30 maiden songs and seriously angel and the gambler rules its repetive but so are many other maiden songs. Blaze rules

Einar Solberg tends to repeat his various singing interjections for several minutes in a 10-minute song, and I don't remember anyone pointing it out as much as this critic is directed against this album.
This is not St. Anger. There are no ADDITIONAL flaws to the band's usual. What I mean that every flaw of this album is overall a weakness of the whole band.
