Best Songs In the Musical Oliver!

Oliver! Is extremely underrated in my opinion. It's a shame because it has such a wonderful score.
The Top Ten
1 As Long as He Needs Me

Bill Sykes is a huge jerk indeed. He murdered the only person who loved him, abused his dog and kept Oliver hostage! In my opinion, he deserved a much more brutal death than the one he got!
Oliver Reed's acting was excellent, though! In his role as Bill Sykes, he made you hate him more than anyone else in this world!

The saddest thing about Nancy's death is that it could've easily been prevented!
If she had just let go of her obsession with Bill and let him go to jail, she would've been alive by the end of the story!

Loyal Nancy is standing by her bully boyfriend, Bill Sykes. The lyrics are touching, but the underlying sadness in Nancy's voice tells its own story.

2 Consider Yourself

When Oliver first meets The Artful Dodger. It's catchy and great to sing along to, even if you can't sing - it doesn't matter - neither can Dodger!

I love this one. It's a fun song and Dodger sings it who is my favourite character. It's always stuck in my head.

3 You've Got to Pick a Pocket or Two
4 Oom-Pah-Pah

I love this! Nancy sings this with gusto, trying to create a diversion to help Oliver escape from Bill Sykes...

5 Reviewing the Situation

Fagin contemplates a life on the straight and narrow.

6 Where Is Love?

Poor, punished Oliver sings this, as he daydreams of one day meeting his Mother.
His voice is so innocent and sad, you can't help but fall in love with it.

7 I'd Do Anything

This one is good it starts off sweet as Dodger sings to Nancy then Oliver sings to Nancy and Bet.. and then all the boys start singing to Fagin and it becomes a silly but funny song. I like it, it's good to listen and sing to.

Sung by Nancy and the boys. Another happy, relaxed song. Love it!

8 Food, Glorious Food

Oliver and the rest of the workhouse boys. Just before the famous bowl in hand scene and the immortal words: "Please, Sir, I want some more."

This is the only song that I've heard in this movie. I guess it's a pretty decent song.

9 Who Will Buy?

I love how this song builds. Starting with one one lone female market trader and builds up as the whole cast gradually joins in.

10 Be Back Soon

Fagin and the boys. Sung before a hard day's pick-pocketing. A happy song. Great to sing loudly to.
