Top 10 Songs People Think Are R&B Songs But Are Not

I can see why people would wrongly label this as r&b without really thinking about it, but to me this is not r&b by the true definition. This is just pop music mixed with hip hop music, people just think that any black artist who sings and uses urban beats is automatically r&b.

If this is really thought of as r&b then that's just sad for r&b's sake.

Yup coming from someone who listens to a lot of r&b and has listened and studied many different r&b artists throughout the years, I can definitely say this is to r&b what The Jonas Brothers and One Direction are to rock music. This is just total garbage, and not r&b at all. The only "r&b" thing about this are Beyonce's vocals during the bridge, but that still isn't enough to make this a true r&b song.

This is just total garbage. None of the three artists in this can really sing, Chris Brown is the most talented artist here and that's saying something.

I am sorry that this song is thought of as r&b as it is obviously trash easily one of the worst songs of 2014 (maybe the decade) but you have to admit it is not because it sucks that it is not r&b. I suppose that the delivery is more similar to hip hop than other genres (I don't know as much about r&b as you do)? Also I notice there are many Chris Brown songs on here would you say that he is r&b at all or just pop rap and are there any of the other artists here that you would say are not r&b at all?

This is a great song to listen to at a summer pool party, but don't try to tell me it's r&b.

Labeled as "crunk-n-b", I still don't call this r&b. I'd put this in a playlist with 2000's pop/urban pop songs long before I would put it with soul/r&b.
