Top 10 Songs on Ronnie James Dio - This is Your Life

Ronnie James Dio - This Is Your Life is a 2014 tribute album to singer/songwriter Ronnie James Dio who was the lead singer of Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven & Hell. This album features one Dio song and the rest of the songs are covers of songs with Ronnie James Dio on vocals from the bands he was in done by various artists including Metallica, Anthrax, Motorhead, Rob Halford, Killswitch Engage, Scorpions and several others. This album was produced by Wendy Dio, Ronnie's wife. The money this album made went to Dio's Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund which means this album has done good not just for being an amazing tribute to an amazing singer but also to help cure cancer.
The Top Ten
1 Rainbow in the Dark - Corey Taylor

You will be surprised at Corey Taylor's vocals here he sings this song very well Rainbow in the Dark is my favorite Dio song and this is my favorite song on this album though there's so many that could be number 1 all the artists here did amazing jobs.

This tribute album was much better than I expected. I would rate 5/5 about 10 songs on it.

Best album ever, literally. Most albums don't help cure cancer.

Congrats on getting a featured list, you earned it!

2 Ronnie Rising Medley - Metallica

Yep, their Medley included 4 Rainbow songs but they covered almost entirely only Kill The King. I can understand it - Kill The King was the most aggressive song of the 70s (and perhaps also the fastest), and all this suits Metallica's style.

Yup even Metallica payed tribute to the Legend with not just a cover of one song but a whole Medley

3 Neon Knights - Anthrax

This was a very pleasant surprise - one of my favorite covers on this album.

Anthrax perfected this cover it sounds just like the Orginal

4 This is Your Life - Dio

This song is Taken from Angry Machines and it's a beautiful ballad sung by Dio.

5 Holy Diver - Killswitch Engage

This cover is performed really very good. I only think that the nature of the original isn't very aggressive and the harsh vocals they added weren't necessary.

I honestly hated this one, the first part is really good, with the heavier, faster rendition of such a classic song, but the screams ruined it completely for me.

Sadly, I felt it was better than the original, it really polished up the sloppy mistakes made in the original.

A well known awesome Dio cover

6 The Temple of the King - Scorpions

They did an awesome job covering this ballad and we all know that Scorpions are excellent at making ballads and this is no exception.

Scorpions never go wrong. They have chosen a song that sounds great in their ballad-esque style.

7 Egypt (The Chains are On) - Doro

This was one of the biggest surprises for me - a really great cover by a somewhat underground musician.

Excellent cover done by Doro

8 The Mob Rules - Adrenaline Mob

Yep, Russell Allen nailed the vocals and this is exactly what I expected from him.

A very good cover of Mob Rules done by A Mob.

9 Heaven & Hell - Stryper

This was a bonus track for the Japanese version of this album

10 Man on the Silver Mountain - Rob Halford

While Rob Halford didn't go all out here he still did the job and made an excellent cover

The Contenders
11 Straight Through the Heart - Halestorm
12 Starstruck - Motörhead with Biff Byford

Even Lemmy Kilmister who said he didn't like heavy metal still payed tribute to the legend

13 The Last in Line - Tenacious D

I need to clarify something - I like Tenacious D and I like the fact they made this cover. But Grammy for Best Metal Performance of the year? No.

Why did you mention this Grammy, my friend... You know what I mean. It's not even the Best Metal Performance on this album.

This cover actually won a Grammy for Best Metal Preformance at The 57th annual Grammy Awards

14 Catch the Rainbow - Glenn Hughes
15 I - Jimmy Bain, Oni Logan, Rowan Robertson & Brian Tichy
16 Stand Up and Shout - Dio Disciples

Dio Disciples is a band that consists of former members of Dio and Tim Ripper Owens Singing lead vocals this cover was on the Japanese version of this album as a bonus track

17 Buried Alive - Jasta
