Top Ten Songs from Taylor Swift's 1989
This was my favourite ever song back in my Taylor phase. I came out of it for a while but kept listening to a few songs but now I’m back and this song is perfection. I remember thinking the chorus said something about Starbucks LOL! haha. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without Taylor Swift and this song is brilliant.
This is definitely her best song from this awesome album of hers. My favourite lines?
"Got a long list of ex-lovers
They'll tell you I'm insane
But I've got a blank space baby
And I'll write your name"
"But you'll come back each time you leave
'Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream"
"Boys only want love if it's torture
Don't say I didn't say I didn't warn ya"
This song is gonna shoot to the stars in no time. Love it.
But the worst is yeart to come Oh no screaming crying perfect storm I could make all the tables turn Garden roses filled with joy Keep you second Gussing like Oh My god who is she I get drunk on jelousy but you come back each time you live cause darling I'm nightmare dress like a daydream. Ohhh that is my best part of Blank space I am going crazy. Yho shout out to Taylor Swift. Every time I woke up I like to sing it uree!
While "Blank Space" is quite good, her best songs are still "The Police Will Never Find Your Body" and "I Want To Watch You Autopsied (To See If There's A Heart In There").
I could just listen to this all day everyday. My favourite part is near the end when she sings: JUST TAKE ME HOME! The music is also perfection and the beginning is amazing and AHH Taylor is just such a good songwriter!
I love Blank Space and Wildest Dreams, but the best HAS to be Style, which is about her ex, Harry Styles. One Direction came back with Perfect later on. Yes it is great, but only because it's literally Style (no seriously, they sound completely alike). Blank Space is probably the funniest (as it's a self-parody), Wildest Dreams has the best meaning and the message Taylor is giving is actually original other than a breakup song, but Style is the best in production, voice, instrumental, etc.
Love the song especially the 2nd verse where she says "the lights are off, he's taking off his coat"... She put her soul into that one line!
I love this song so much! It's like it's talks about their love style and their clothing style!
The 2nd verse... Its literal seduction... And the way she says it... Like all dreamy... 'I said,"no has to know what we do", his hands are in my hair, his clothes are in my room..
Wildest Dreams is different from the rest of the 1989 albums- but it is really really good. I mean I fell in love with the song when I first heard it- and the music video is also really good. It basically explains all that a girl feels when she falls or starts dating a bad boy- she knows she's going to end up hurt and she's just going to be one of his one-night stands but she still falls for his charm. AMAZING!
No it's actually about a guy that she likes but he only kisses her because it's in the movie they are shooting. When they go to the awards he already has a girlfriend so her wildest dreams are crushed. She runs away but he comes out like he still loves her but it's to late she's already run away
The similarity to Lana Del Ray is striking. I think Taylor did a great job incorporating Lana into her own music. I get such a magical feeling whenever I hear this song. And those little sighs in the chorus! So invigorating! This should totally be Number 1!
-I say "No one has to know what we do,"
His hands are in my hair, his clothes are in my room
And his voice is a familiar sound
But nothing lasts forever
But this is getting good now
He's so tall and handsome as hell
He's so bad but he does it so well
And when we've had our very last kiss
My last request is
Say you'll remember me
Standing in a nice dress
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you'll see me again
Even if it's just in your
Wildest dreams, ahh ah
Wildest dreams, ahh ah
You see me in hindsight
Tangled up with you all night
Burnin' it down
Someday when you leave me
I bet these memories
Follow you around
Seriously people, this is the ALL TOO WELL of 1989.After hearing Shake It Off,i felt like I had lost the lyrical genius taylor OR taylor had lost her lyrical prowess depending on my mood but this made me know she's still got it. It's easily the best song on 1989 with lovely instrumentation and the only 1989 song in my top 10 TS songs of all time. It's probably the only song on 1989 that in it's entirety can contend with her lyrical masterpieces from previous albums others on 1989 have maybe 3 brilliant lines within them. You can relate it to addiction of any sort,it the song that gave me the feeling I got from the RED album(her best in my opinion). IT IS A MASTERPIECE
Taylor Swift isn't exactly my favorite artist. I was never really a big fan of her. THIS, on the other hand, blew my mind. This may as well be one of the greatest break-up songs of all time, up there with "Runaway" by Kanye West. The instrumental is beautiful, and the lyrics are some of her best yet.
This song is so beautiful. The lyrics are among Taylor's most powerful, and the instrumental is so soothing. I love how the song sounds so calm and peaceful while the lyrics speak up moving on from a painful breakup. It's remarkable, really.
I think it's the first song of Taylor's pop album that is somehow different. A new way of writing songs that I think Taylor love this more. It's powerful in words and notes. And it will be living forever and always!
"Out of the Woods is in my opinion one of the most moving and awe inspiring things I have ever heard or seen from Taylor. I just recently got to listening to it and have watched the video on YouTube. I have to admit, it tore me apart emotionally and I am still crying even now! Of course, a good cry though! It reminds me of my own hardships and struggles throughout much of my own life at various times, and at the same time gives me confidence and hope for an awesome future! I love you Taylor! You are truly an inspiration! "
This is the best song from this album. This music is so psychological and the clip is so emotional. This music makes me cry all time. And demonstrade that we have to fight against of our dangerous for find ourselves. It's like "Long Live" from her that I think is the best music from Taylor Swift. This my #3 best music from her and it's followed by "Long Live" and "Mean". Better than "Love Story" and the other musics that she have made.
Okay. Really like this list and I'm not trying to offend anyone. So don't get mad. But I'm sad that my favorite isn't on any of the lists. Oh. My favorite song is This Love, by the way.
Love Blank Space but this song is fun and amazing!
This is definitely my favorite out of the whole album. I am obsessed!
Not only is the tune catchy but the lyrics are so clever "Something happens when everybody finds out, see the vultures circling dark clouds", "They are the hunters and we are the foxes", "Loose lips sink ships all the damn time". I know we can't relate to being in the spotlight and chased by paparazzi but I can relate to these lyrics in a sense of school and how rumours can be passed around so quickly so it has the same effect.
It is number 1, number 2 is Blank space, number 3:Out off the woods,4-New Romantics,5-Style,6-Bad blood,7-Clean,8-All you had to do was stay,9-Wildest dreams,10-Welcome to New York
I love how the tracks are arranged at the moment, but I still believe that this is the best track on the album. It's so incredibly beautiful
This song is catchy but, personally, I don't think it is one of her BEST songs. It may be catchy, but the lyrics to his aren't NEARLY as good as Clean and This Love etc. Plus, they also are catchy. I also think that a good song should be more about its meaning and lyrics rather than its catchiness. And I'm not saying I don't LOVE Shake It Off, I really do
My opinion: This song is good- the lyrics are catchy and make you want to sing along. But I don't think taylor put in as much effort into this song as the others. I mean it's a really great song and I understand how it's about haters and people who are going to stop you from doing great things but Taylor has done better songs. No offense, but I'm the biggest fan of Shake it Off but I do admit it is an amazing song with great lyrics and catchy tune.
Players gonna play. Haters gonna hate. Heartbreakers gonna break. Fakers gonna fake. What do you do? You shake, shake, shake, shake, SHAKE them off! I love this song so much; the music video is goofy but fun.
If this song has billions of views on YouTube that means that this song is totally worth listening to. My personal favorite on this album!
I can relate to this. My BFF was horrible to me, she got this thing called the thing, where all of a sudden she hated me for no reason. I ended it, and now I want to sing the chorus right in her face.
I love this song so much. One of my best friends stabbed me in the back, spread rumors about me and then turned all my other friends against me. We had been friends for 7 years! I really want to sing this song in her face!
There was a girl who moved to my school and she didn't know English so I taught her and helped her through her first few years. We became really close friends. Then six years later, she betrays me
I like the original better than the rap version (for those who don't know, there are two versions). I can relate, just like some of you can. I had a friend that I was pretty darn close to, and then, boom, she becomes a super big jerk. She got two of my best friends to be mean to me and abandon me, say really bad things about me, what's up with them? I will sing this!
No idea why this is a bonus track. Almost goth-like anthem about using the bricks they throw at us to build castles, and heartbreak being the national anthem.
This song doesn't get as much credit as it deserves. I think it should have been on the original album. I just love the Veronicas type feel it has to it!
This song is just so awesome. Taylor tells everyone that you can hate her all you want, and she'll still stay where she is. Just so perfect!
Taylor will regret not putting this on the album. I still do not get it! This is my personal favorite and most relatable song on the album. Who can relate to having a mass celebrity feud? No one (normal).Who can relate to having a relationship gone wrong and turning it into a crazyfest? No one but Taylor. But yet, you can relate to New Romantics, a fun dancy song about having fun, ignoring the past, and being the best you can be in life and so much more! I think you have heard enough.
I heart this song its like so catchy should be higher! Come on guys!
I love this song it boosts your confidence and is the best song to listen to when your sad
I can so see this become a top 3 single.
This song's actually one of the meaningful ones to me because honestly, all you had to do was stay
The Alice in Wonderland allusions take me back to Love Story, except this song is more demented like Haunted. I love this writing style she uses where she takes a piece of well-known literature and applies to her own life and her own writing. The lyrics are PHENOMENAL.
This has to be my favourite song in the entire album because of the base drop and the fluidity of the song and the lyrics and the general meaning of the song.
My Favourite lyrics
"Didn't you calm my fears with the Cheshire cat smile "
"Its all fun and games till somebody loses their mind "
Best song... yay... It should be at least in top three
Love you Taylor swift! I wish that we could found Wonderland and you and I got lost in it!
Such a beautiful song! The lyrics are rather simple, but still so relatable and they hit you like a tidal wave: "This love is good, this love is bad, this love is alive, back from the dead". Makes me cry every time I listen to this. Also her vocals on this song are angel-like. I think people should give this song way more attention, it deserves it!
I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH IT'S MY FAVORITE. Okay. Okay. Woo. Gonna calm myself down. Sorry for the caps but this song is... Just... Wow. It's really under appreciated.
What a beautiful ballad. This is one of the songs that truly show off Taylor's amazing songwriting skills and poetic feel. I can't believe that less people love this song. This song really deserves more recognition.
I originally didn't like this song, but then I listened to the Ryan Adams version and it was so amazing, especially when he sang "...When you're young, you roam, when you're young, you roam. When you're young, you roam, but you come back to what you need". It just shows how amazing Taylor's lyrics are. She truly is an amazing lyricist.
This song is really one of the standouts of this album! Definitely going to be a single and deserves a top 3 at least!
How can this song be so behind in its success, I am totally addicted to this song!
I really do love this song - It's catchy and meaningful and positively addicting. I have no clue what it's doing below Bad Blood.
And That's how it works, That's how you get the girl...
Why is there no love for this track? It's catchy and also the first track on the album!
! Why is this 9th. Welcome to New York is such an AMAZING SONG! It is so damn catchy and is a hit in the face to those people that say that taylor only writes songs about boys. Love the song
This song is fun and be the top of 1989's Tracks
I love how this song is the opening song for the album. I hope this will be her opening song for the tour!
His song is amazing! And Taylor got the music from Jack Antonoff and then wrote he song to it! Taylor is so talented and nice I think this is he reason she has haters because people are jealous of just don't know this. Haters, if you're reading this, just know that Taylor is a very kind human being and invited her really big fans to listen to this album 1989 before its release date with her, and this was in a few of the really big cities in America, and she baked them cookies! She also gave surprise early Christmas gifts (and keep in mind, she really thought about these and made sure they were perfect and some of them were quite expensive) to her really big fans too! She is a very kind soul and doesn't deserve hate. Just think about how you would feel if you were her.
Come on, there are songs not even in the album higher than this! ? No sense! This song deserves to be on the list.
How in the world is this song last it is my fave song in the whole album! Come on people...
How is I Wish You Would the last on this list?! It's one of the bests on the album! The electric guitar and the upbeat melody is perfect!
This is not the best song (Clean is the best she's ever written) but I will vote for this one repeatedly because this is bulls***, You're in Love is beautiful and amazing and shouldn't be down here, it is the 2nd most underrated song on the album (Clean, again). Shake it Off is terrible (lyrically) and should be at the bottom, not You're in Love.
EXCUSE ME WHAT IS THIS DOING AT THE BOTTOM? Well, I guess there has to be one song at the bottom but not YOU ARE IN LOVE! The lyrics to this give me life! Suuuch a good song I just can't even explain it!
Literally makes me cry every time what a masterpiece forever and always the Taylor swift song that I love the most
I really don't even understand why the best songs on this album are bonus tracks. This song is so meaningful but ridiculously underrated. I don't even listen to Taylor all that much, but this song? I love it so much.
A voice memo of her how she writes the song. Lol
Actually I'm the one who add this.
This is a song?
THIS THE BEST S... Who am I kidding?
