Top Ten Songs Which Instantly Spark a MemoryThere are some songs which, when we hear them, completely by accident, instantly transports us back to a particular time and place in our lives. Those songs that stop us dead in our tracks for whatever reason, good or bad.
The Top Ten
This song was in my aunt and uncle's wedding banquet video! I was 3 3/4 at the time.
Ya know, Beege, had formed an opinion of this gal based on tats and lifestyle (which was not altogether in error) before ever bothering to listen. After she passed, saw a gig she had done with a maybe five-piece band, all jazz and blues. Was completely blown away by her awesome talent. Later saw an interview with her "progressive" jellyfish father, and it was abundantly clear that this had been a massively over-indulged, totally ungoverned child set on a path to the inevitable. Such a waste.
I know, V. A lot of people have judged her the same way before actually listening. I've done it myself (not about her, though - I loved her unique voice and diversity before I knew about her lifestyle). I genuinely miss her; keep expecting her to surprise us all with brand new music and then I remember... - Britgirl
It brings back memories from my childhood since my grandma played this song very often. - Metal_Treasure
Hey, one of mine too! Forgot to mention it. Can't believe I forgot! Makes me think of my college days. - Britgirl
Only nice memories. It's the sweetest, loveliest and most heartwarming song I have ever heard. - Britgirl
Reminds me of my early childhood because my grandma loves this song. - Metal_Treasure
Every time I hear this I think about my childhood
"And now the times are changin'
Look at everything that's come and gone
Sometimes when I play that old six string (except my one isn't old)
I think about ya'n wonder what went wrong "
and best line
"And if I had the choice
Ya - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life"
Made me cry. Must be the onions. Or something :'( - Britgirl
Makes me smile. Reminds me of my days working as a room maid (okay...cleaner) in a four- star hotel, which had a very grand gold and red coloured social room with chandeliers on the ceiling. It was called The Caz Bar. Some of my best memories are still floating around the Caz Bar and indeed the entire hotel. - Britgirl
