Top Ten Songs With A Synthetic Orchestra

Title explains yet again. By synthetic orchestra, I mean an orchestra made from keyboard, or pretty much any kind of synth.

Also, apologies in advance for putting so much Symphony X and Dream Theater here. I love their synth orchestras, so friggin’ much.

The Top Ten

1 The Odyssey - Symphony X

Very interesting list. I like it. - Metal_Treasure

Damn...Michael Pinella’s orchestra here hits the spot. - NightmareCinema

2 Sea of Life - Saxon

Pretty sure that orchestra at the ending is synthetic. - NightmareCinema

3 Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence - Dream Theater

Jordan Rudess made it on keyboard. The first time I heard this, I thought it was a real orchestra, that’s how good it is. Particularly in the Overture. - NightmareCinema

4 Silent Lucidity - Queensryche

There’s a bit of synth orchestra in there. - NightmareCinema

5 Future of Mankind - Judas Priest

There’s a lot of synths on the Nostradamus album actually. - NightmareCinema

6 The Divine Wings of Tragedy - Symphony X

More Symphony X for ya :P.
I just couldn’t resist including some more of their songs with synthetic orchestras, cause it’s phenomenal. - NightmareCinema

7 Incantations of the Apprentice - Symphony X

And even more SX. The keyboards on The Odyssey album in particular hit the spot for me, I don’t know why. - NightmareCinema

8 Scarred - Dream Theater

At the ending, there’s some synthetic keyboard. Kevin Moore this time, not Rudess. - NightmareCinema

9 Panic Attack - Dream Theater

I’m pretty sure there’s a bit of synth orchestra in there. The Octavarium Orchestra was only used on Sacrificed Sons and of course, Octavarium to my knowledge, so I assume that bit of orchestra was synthetic. - NightmareCinema

10 Wither - Dream Theater

There’s a synth violin in here. Not a full synth orchestra, but I guess it counts. - NightmareCinema

The Contenders

11 Eloy - The Sun Song

A masterpiece song from a masterpiece album
