Top Ten Songs on Young Thug's Jeffery

You either love or hate Young Thug. I am pretty sure there's little in between.
Judging by this site's general taste in music, I guess not too many will like him.
And yeah, it might be a bit to get into his music at first if you only listen to the lyrics... because it's about something entirely different. The experience counts.
Young Thug is a bit like this scat-singing in Jazz. He just fully loses himself in the music, and plays his voice like an instrument, rather than communicating through it. He plays with it, flows along the music, there is always something going on in his voice. He's way more of a performance artist than a songwriter, and yeah, it might not be what many people want to hear, but hey, I really dig it.
His older mixtape stuff, such as "I Came From Nothing 2" or "1017 Thug" was more conventional, less rooted in trap, and focused more on word play, that may be more interesting for you.

"Jeffery" is an awesome album. It's often called a mixtape, but it really feels more like an album. His older mixtapes consisted of 20 or so tracks that were arranged as a non-stop megamix and without concept. "Jeffery" has ten perfectly thought out individual tracks that still have a common feel to it. To me, that is an album. And one I really like. Its songs feel alive and moving, they do not feel structured like a regular radio friendly rap record, yet are still very easy to listen to once you get hooked to this style. I am very glad I bought this piece of music, it is one of 2 trap albums of 2016 that made something unconventionally musical out of the genre, the other being Fler's "Vibe", a German hip hop album that established trap as a counter movement to the focus on complex lyrics in German rap instead of flow and musicality.
The Top Ten
1 Harambe

Modern day scat singing in hip hop. Listen to all this hoarse syllables and the trumpet-like vocal delivery. This is pure fun to listen to. It is also the song Thug is most playful on with his voice. He barely sounds like himself on here.

2 Future Swag

This flow and beat reminds me of DatAdam so much, even though they have a way bigger focus on lyrics than Young Thug. But really, listen to the audio sample of DatAdam's "" (on the list of best that Adam songs) and then to the sample of this song.

3 RiRi
4 Wyclef Jean
5 Webbie
6 Guwop
7 Floyd Mayweather

Easily best on album, maybe wyclef is better but tats it
