Best Songs: 181-200

The Contenders: Page 10

181 Freak on a Leash - Korn

The greatest hit by one of the all time metal bands. definitely a top 20-30 song

Should be No.1 or 2 with chop suey and enter sandman. WTF? - sarahgarrod

I try to every night, all in vain... in vain.
Sometimes I cannot take this place.
Sometimes it's my life I can't taste.
Sometimes I cannot feel my face.
You'll never see me fall from grace
Something takes a part of me.
You and I were meant to be.
A cheap for me to lay
Something takes a part of me.
Feeling like a freak on a leash. You wanna see the light
Feeling like I have no release. So do I
How many times have I felt diseased? You wanna see the light
Nothing in my life is free... is free

Boom na the mmm dum na ema
the boom na the mmm dum na ema

So...fight! something on the... dum na ema
Fight...some things they fight! - htoutlaws2012

182 New Slang - The Shins

Should be higher!

183 Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) - Green Day

Such a beautiful song

One of the best songs I've heard definitely should be higher

Beautiful song

Great song

184 The Veldt - Deadmau5

One of the most beautiful EDM songs of all time.

The fact that this was based on a James Thurber makes this one a true piece of art. And that's saying a lot considering this is an EDM song.

185 Paschendale - Iron Maiden

Can't stand to see garbage like Imagine and Smells Like Teen Spirit in the top five whilst this epic, but also poetic monster of a song is at #304. - IronSabbathPriest

Epic song that retells the skirmish of Paschendale in WW1 through an Amazing 8 minutes that anyone can love

186 As Tears Go By - The Rolling Stones
187 When the Music's Over - The Doors

My favorite doors song of all tome. I want to hear the scream of a butterfly. I want it NOW

A classic song from the doors. Should be up a bit higher. - matty925

188 Ill Mind of Hopsin 5 - Hopsin

Absolute hidden gem in the hip hop community. I've listened to pretty much all that the rap genre has to offer and Hopsin's Ill Mind of Hopsin 5 is undoubtedly one of the greatest hip hop songs ever. He's rapping about REAL ISSUES in today's world including teen drug abuse/teen pregnancy and has some of the best delivery/flow/lyrics of any rapper I've ever heard.

Good good good song

189 Fix You - Coldplay

Its really very shameful for Coldplay lovers that there is not even a single song of Coldplay in top 100. All of you don't know the true meaning of song. Coldplay is best...

I just like the way this song makes me feel and reminds me a girl that I really love, I really do...

Really really brilliant song
Its really stupid that Coldplay doesn't have anything in top 100

I only like the album Parachutes, the rest is boring - _Jack_

190 Someone Like You - Adele

Though this is new song competing with classics, it's got all it needs to become a classic: brilliant lryics, real music and a singer who packs a punch. I have never in my life felt such raw emotion come from a singer. The fears and pains felt... Relatable is an understatement. I have no doubts that this is a song that will go down in history.

I love adele because it means me when my family is about xx

I put down new music, but will compliment it when it is deserving. Adele is very deserving. She co-wrote this song with possibly the best songwriter today, Minneapolis' own Dan Wilson.

YES. Adele is an amazing singing. Her voice shows true emotion.

191 Shine on You Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd

An absolutely hectic song hailing Pink Floyd original head member, Syd Barrett, who mentally went sick and had to be taken away. The entire song, at 20-something minutes, is numbing, whimsical, an horrifying. As if Van Gogh was putting Starry Starry Night into words.

This comment is one of the best thing, I have came across on internet today.

Best song from Pink Floyd. Then whish you were here, dogs, etc. Best song of all time. Richard Wrights dreaming synth. Sound, David Gilmour fantastic guitar layers. Instrumental first 8 minutes is a highlight in modern music. The first 3 minutes is like awaking in the dessert. The last beautiful section...This song of almost half an hour has iT all. Must Be at number 1, then maybe stairway to heaven. This song is heaven on itself. Not just the stairway to iT. And for someone (syd barret) who already is in heaven. Hè listens to iT and is overwhelmed with pride, I'm sure.

A true masterpiece. Deserves a place in the top 20 at least. The entire band gave it their all. Especially David Gilmour.

There is so much musical talent in this song. 13 minutes of pure genius from the G-minor peace on the Oregon to the Saxophone solo in the end, sure Stairway to Heaven is much more popular but this song's musical quality has all others beat making it the greatest song of all time in my opinion

192 Lateralus - Tool

Lateralus. The album, the song, sheer genius. Allow me to explain. You see in music each line is comprised of measures and these measures affect how the timing in the song occurs such as the pulses and the drum beats etc. Most songs stay in either 4/4, 2/4, or 8/8 time signature, meaning four beats for every measure, etc. This songs chorus, comprised of three lines, descends by a beat each line. Thus you have 9/8 for the first line, 8/8 for the second line, 7/8 for the final line. If you thought THAT was crazy, that is only the beginning. You see, Lateralus is the title track for Tool's 2001 album "Lateralus. " Now Lateralus in and of itself was a complex song, and most fans thought it a bit awkward the way the syllables were laid out in the verses. This song actually acts as a gateway to a re-structuring of the albums tracks for a "Holy Gift" (as it is known by their fanbase). You see on The Holy Gift version, each track leads perfectly and coherently into the ...more

The most technical band that I have ever listened to. There should be more tool on this list

This is must hear song, the greatest song ever that created by tool. Maynard is very genius artist

Top 20 for me

193 Nightmare - Avenged Sevenfold

Love this song. I have heard all of A7Xs songs, and as much as I love ALL of them, this one takes the top.

Amazing vocals from m shadows, fantastic lead guitar from synyster, brilliant rhythm to match from zacky, outrageous drumming from portnoy and the rev, plus great bass from johnny to complete it. Top song, best no doubt

Meaningful. About their late fren (rev) the music very rare..

I love Avenged Sevenfold, and this is my favorite sevenfold song

194 Nights in White Satin - Moody Blues

"if your over 35"? I'm 14 and I know and love this song. - alucard

One of the best songs ever for soothing the pain of unrequited love

If you're over the age of 35, shame on you if you don't know the words to this one!

195 In My Life - The Beatles

Timeless piece of art. Always soothing at the end of the day. Must listen to Beatles especially this song and Day in the Life.

The Beatles would have to be my favorite bands of all time, and this would hav to be my favorite song. It is probably the best song ever recorded.

This has to be my favorite Beatles song, although there is so much to choose from. Rubber Soul is an amazing album that is kind of a bridge to the time when the Beatles' music went from yeah, yeah, yeah to being more serious. This is the first of what are generally accepted as their best albums, including Revolver, the white album, Sgt. Peppers, Magical Mystery Tour, and Abbey Road.

Sums it up for me

196 You Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC

bloody amazing song, AC/DC kick ass. don't know a band and bounced back from such a tragedy as the death of their singer.
THEY ROCK! - twosup

Here is the question... How many times can a song get you laid and not be at the top of (at least) your personal list? Bottom line, this song has served me well. This song goes to the inner neanderthal in all of us.

simple, the best song AND video of all the time, I love AC/DC since Colombia - JuandaColombia

I am not a rock a roll guy, but I can say that this is one song that for every generation they seem to love it when it comes on. Any time a DJ puts this song on at a wedding dance, the dance floor fills and people go crazy. Very surprised this isn't a Top 10.

197 Mr. Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra

I'd agree this innovative band has many better songs. "Showdown" would be a great place to start. Great harmony and obviously orchestral accompaniment with this band. - Ned964

This song is my absolute favorite. It's groovy, it's poetic, it's soulful and it's an instant mood-lifter. Should be much higher on this list.

It's a good song but the band has many other underrated hits

Always been my favourite song of all time. Used so many times for adverts and T.V.

198 Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler

Bonnie Tyler cuts to the heart with a precise depiction of impossible love and an eerie feeling of hopelessness in her voice that shatters the soul.

it draws you in and then takes you on a roller coaster for the rest of the song. perfect song.

This song is a classic and deserves a much higher spot on the list.

So old, and yet so relevant.

199 Roar - Katy Perry

Why is this on the list? It's the most annoying song of all time.

This is the dumbist katy perry song don't you think.

I am a 8 year-old boy and I had to sing it in front of everyone. This song made me want to kill katy perry. - lizard302

Ear ebol - Disturbedpotato

I always wondered, what's with ropes in the video? Anyway, great song

A day wont pass without hearing this song
Far better than most of the above songs

Definitely deserves a position in the top ten...
