Best Songs of All Time
The Contenders: Page 7
Well, the Beatles at number 3. Some of you hardcore Beatles fans might be furious at me for not putting "A Day in the Life" or "Let It Be" at number 1. Again, it's my opinion. Anyways, amazing message that is sent out in this song. This was one of the greatest Beatles songs ever made undoubtedly. The violins bring anticipation when they gradually get louder, and the vocals from the band when they sing the chorus bring delight to my ears. Truly a masterpiece.
Wait a second... This song was once NUMBER 3 on this list? It's been voted down to below PARTY ROCK ANTHEM to 117? How can this be? Is this what the world is coming to? - VaticanCameos
I've always loved the Beatles, and I'm twelve. Almost thirteen. and Eleanor Rigby is one of my favorites. It's beat is so cool.
As people said the Beatles are just above any competition or silly list. Too many of their songs can be on this lst.

Unbelievable. I get this far down the list to see the name Elton John.. I'm starting to see why some folks get upset that their favorite songs are ranked so low. in my humble opinion, this isn't even close to his best song, that honor goes easily to Funeral for a friend/Love lies bleeding, which many great musicians consider the best arranged song of all time. I concur. "Don't let the sun go down on me" is a very good song, but to see any Elton John song this low makes me sad for Bernie Taupin, the guy who co writes songs with John, who's genius is lost on so many. Take some time to listen to the albums "Madman across the water", "Captain Fantastic and the Brown dirt Cowboy", "Honkey Chateau" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" to truly hear this great songwriting duo's best work. - Ned964
This song was my favorite song when I was young. Brings back so many memories and I still know all the lyrics
Love this song! Lyrics are cool and the vocals are phenomenal. I love how it pretty much sums of music in 1985.
Gonna listen to it and give it a vote.V 1 Comment
Great Song about Someone he loved a groupie!
A great song that deserves to be on this list, and is better than half the other songs on it. One of my favorite songs that sends a shiver down my spine every time I listen to it.
hendrix did an awesome cover on this song. its great an instramental, but you can kind of feel the tone and feeling of this great song
Classic . . . epic . . . great guitar . . . I LOVE IT! Higher up, please.
This song should be at least in the top 10. This is the only English song to which I got obsessed. Mind you I'm a non native speaker.
Truly haunting! - GNR63
Common guys, this is such a great song. Metallica is one of my favourite bands, but Sympathy for the Devil is a perfect song. 32 on Rolling Stones Magazine for greatest songs of all time.
This song is amazing. People who first hear it probably think why is the tune repeated the whole time but the truth is this song is amazing and the devil-real or not- we should show some sympathy toward him/her
Honestly, I have never seen anything great about this song, no matter who sings it. I would never call this one of the best songs. To me, it's just flat out boring and not interesting at all.
It's honestly disgraceful that this song isn't at least in the Top 20.V 11 Comments
HOW ON EARTH CAN THIS POSSIBLY BE ON 395?! Come on people, you've got to be kidding! This song was the song of a whole generation, the mods! It is definitely better than Tokio Hotel, Jason Mraz or The Veronicas?! - thestranger
No way should this be on the list. One of my favorites from the who, even though my generation wasn't the best in terms of the music. - matty925
Wait, I thought this was the worst songs of all time list. Pardon me. This should definitely be higher up. - matty925
How is Taio Cruz above this timeless tune?V 2 Comments
One of the greatest rap songs of all time
If only his career was as big as his stomach
If biggie smalls sees this he's gonna pop a cap in someone's ass
How are songs by Jimi Hendrix at 208? Purple Haze at 171, Castles Made Of Sand at 208, All Around the Watchtower is too low too. But yet 30 Seconds to Mars is somehow better than him. Kids these days...
Just absolutely fantastic, incredible lyrics, uplifting mood, fits into so many situations, just fantastic
Oh My God. HOW is this song all the way down here?! It's one of my favourite songs, I just can't stop listening. I have no idea why this list is so crappy. WHERE is the Paramore?! Is it even possible not to like it?! Also, Smells Like Teen Spirit should totally be no.3, after Bittersweet Symphony and Misery Business. So a word of warning to the creator of this list: Change it or I will bite you. HARD.
One of best lyrics EVER! it's too emotional and realistic, really that song has to be in top ten =S!
Perhaps my most favourable tune in the world.V 20 Comments
This song is so beautiful and the lyrics are amazing. It's a song everyone can relate to; passionate and perfect
Imagine dragons is a great band, most of their songs are catchy like Demons, Radioactive, its time etc.
The clanking drum-clap, the burbling guitar, the sinister piano, and the burnt vocals come together so perfectly with the stone cold lyrics. - WonkeyDude98
Best song sung everV 31 Comments
I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who actually likes modern music and older music equally, but this is the most underrated song of all time. Too bad Vanilla Ice had to ruin it!
Holy jesus why is this at 418, this is the pinnacle of music itself, FREDDIE AND David BOWIE COLLABORATION?!
Best Bowie song ever. Best baseline ever. That's all I really need to say. - MontyPython
Your not the only one. A great song that sadly Ice did blatantly rip off. I read somewhere that Bowie co wrote the song with Freddie Mercury, they recorded it and Bowie never did the song again with Queen. That kinda sucks. - Ned964V 6 Comments
Laugh out loud this is bull crap - LegitGames12
Haha, this has got to be a joke, right? It isn't? Oh dear god.
I love this song
Oh wow this is in the top 200. People getting triggered lmao. - ProPandaV 4 Comments
Yes, it is a shame the younger generations don't appreciate Dylan more, but what are you gonna do? Judging by many songs on this list, the younger generations have spoken, loudly. There's only so much music we can absorb, in all honesty. I once had access to roughly 3500 CD's, and I soon found that it was just too much to give everything it's proper respect. I literally didn't have the time to listen to many artists, whom while obscure to many, were at least familiar to me through friends, or simply reading what certain artists had gone on top after leaving another band. The volume of music available is simply staggering. Dylan is pure genius, but maybe it's list on younger folks because they simply don't have time. - Ned964
This song was done for Rubin "Hurricane" Carter and it's so powerful. You can feel the injustice and the fight of afro descendents American's for civil rights and still one of the best song of Bob Dylan with Like a Rolling Stone and Blowing in the Wind.
The best song ever! It is the classic song of American justice.
My favorite song.
Younger generations should hear what this man has to offer. Wisdom. Love. Bob Dylan I know he don't like to be caled this way, but he is... A spokerman for my generation.
This song is beutiful
