The Top Ten
1 Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys) Eric Reed Boucher, better known by his professional name Jello Biafra, is a American singer who is the former lead singer and songwriter for the San Francisco punk rock band Dead Kennedys.

Smart, witty, angry and funny. a lot of social and political criticism with a lot of satire and sarcasm. Criticizes both the "left" and the "right" of the political spectrum (I hate that some label them "left wing"). Right up my alley. What punk is about.

Jello's a punk icon with probably the most recognizable voice in punk rock.

One of the most intelligent person in music and his lyrics show it.

Digging Crass recently and their lyrics are amazing. Intelligence mixed with radical policies.

Great songwriter. Right there with Graffin.

One frustrated, pissed off dude. Makes for great songwriting.

7 Nick Blinko (Rudimentary Peni)

A certified schizo who wrote one of their albums while locked up in a nut house. Dark, twisted, gloomy, weird but also intelligent, deep and socially aware. One hell of an artist too. He does the artwork on every one of their albums. Check out his artwork. Bassist Grant Matthews also writes some of their songs.

All members of The Descendents and All write songs. I believe Stevenson is the best in both bands (which is the same but with a different singer). He writes punk rock love songs that are sometimes sad and always a little twisted and comical. I believe he may have written or co wrote a couple of Black Flag songs too.
