Much cleaner compared to other countries in South Asia. Visited the country just after the civil war and a year ago, really impressed by the progress the country has made. Good road network except in the capital Colombo where you could get stuck in traffic for hours. Almost missed our flight if not for the airport highway. Very humble and welcoming people. Food is bit spicy in my perspective. Highly recommend to try the beautiful waves in Arugambay if you are into surfing. It's a warm country so pack your summer clothes up. Nature in highlands is very soothing. Don't rent vehicles if you are going to highlands instead take the train which is 6 amazing hours. I know it is pretty long but that is one of the best things I did in Sri lanka in both times I visited the country. Take mosquito repellent.. lot of mosquitoes out there!
