The Top Ten
1 Hawkwind Hawkwind are an English rock band and one of the earliest space rock groups. Formed in November 1969, Hawkwind have gone through many incarnations and they have incorporated different styles into their music, including hard rock, progressive rock and psychedelic rock.

The greatest Space Rock band ever and one of the finest rock bands ever. Space Ritual remains the greatest live album and I play it at least once a month and have done for 46 years. There's The Beatles, Hawkwind, Iron Maiden, Santana and the Mighty Zep, in that order.

The best space rock band ever, and still making new music for nearly 50 years.

Ultimate space rockers almost 50 years and still not compromising

One of the only bands on this list that are truly space rock.

2 Pink Floyd Pink Floyd was an English progressive rock band formed in 1965 in London, England. They achieved international acclaim with their progressive and psychedelic music. The band consisted of 5 members - David Gilmour (Vocals and Guitar), Syd Barrett (Vocals and Guitar), Nick Mason (Drums), Roger Waters more.

They should be #1, as they helped in creating the genre of space rock itself.
Muse and Radiohead merely used space rock in some of their songs, while every Pink Floyd album has elements of the genre in almost every song.

I think it is messing stupid of keeping Pink Floyd on second. They started everything when these bands were not even pissing in their diapers. Pink Floyd needs to be on the top
