Top Ten Spice Girl Solo Songs

The Spice Girls, while certainly better together, also have quite a number solo tunes and some of them are really, really good. This is a list of the best Spice Girl solo songs.
The Top Ten
1 I Turn to You - Melanie C

There was never another option for the top spot. But y'all knew that. It's lyrically brilliant and musically sounds just as fresh as when it was released. Try not singing along or dancing. I dare you!

2 Ride It - Geri Halliwell

Dance-pop gold. And whatever the producers did to her voice to make it sound like that deserve every musical award there is! This song is laced with crack. And still sounds remarkably fresh yet so 2004 at the same time.

3 Northern Star - Melanie C

This was Mel revealing herself and as an individual for the first time and what a revelation it was. Everyone knew she could sing but this was a showcase of her songwriting and herself. She has named it her most personal song.

4 Free Me - Emma Bunton

This is the song that solidified Baby as my favorite Spice Girl. A beautiful, sweeping melody and thus far the strongest vocal performance Emma had given. And the lyrics make it all that much better!

5 Look at Me - Geri Halliwell

Yeah, she basically can't sing. BUT there's just this campy, non-sensical, completely and totally frivolous and insane energy in the lyrics and beat that commands you to listen over and over and sing along equally poorly.

6 Let Your Head Go - Victoria Beckham

It's really a crime that this isn't on Spotify. It's an even bigger crime that the album got shelved because this is such a good song that feels like HER. Plus that video…is the perfect example of why people Stan Posh. Humor for days.

7 Not Such an Innocent Girl - Victoria Beckham

If only the rest of Victoria's debut slapped as hard as this track does, it would've performed better and she might not have given up on music so soon. Sooooo damn catchy and it displays she actually has considerable vocal range.

8 What Took You So Long - Emma Bunton

A warm blanket of a song, or so you might think. It's a bit more suggestive than it sounds at first listen. Emma was the quiet one with the sweet voice. That sweet voice, is used to perfect effect here. She brings LAYERS!

9 Never Be the Same Again - Melanie C

One of the sweetest (and catchiest) odes to friends turned lovers. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." Plus Left Eye's verse gives it that extra edge of excellence. May she RIP.

10 Love Never Loved Me - Geri Halliwell
The Contenders
11 First Day of My Life - Melanie C
