Top 10 Sri Lankan Cricketers in 2016

The Top Ten

1 Tillakaratne Dilshan

The Best After Sanath Jayasuriya...

Tillakaratne Dilshan has been a revelation over the past year or so, almost reinventing himself after making a comeback to the national squad in early 2009. A brilliant counter-attacker, Dilshan has the ability to cut loose once he gets set. He was the given the license to play his own game once he took on the role of an opener and has flourished ever since. He was keen on making the opening spot his own so that he could take over Jayasuriya's role once the left-hander retired.

So his Dilscoop was amazing. - Adron

2 Dinesh Chandimal

Dinesh Chandimal has shown immense potential in the short time that he has spent with the Sri Lankan team. A hard-hitting wicket keeper-batsman, Chandimal has played some match-winning knocks and has grabbed the attention of the cricketing world. Many in Sri Lanka have suggested that Chandimal is a player for the future and has got the potential to adjust his style to suit all forms of the game. - Adron

3 Lasith Malinga

Lasith Malinga is one of the most flamboyant cricketers to have ever come out of Sri Lanka. From the bleached hair, eyebrow piercing, tattoos, to his round-arm action, everything he does makes page 3 news. Malinga learned his cricket on the beaches of Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka's west-coast tourist paradise, with a tennis ball that was shaved and then burned to make it harder. Born in Galle, and nicknamed 'Slinga Malinga' for his freakish action, he was first discovered by former Sri Lankan paceman Champaka Ramanayake, who was so impressed by Malinga's raw ability that he invited him to join the Cricket Foundation of Sri Lanka. - Adron
