Top 10 Star Wars Characters Introduced in The Phantom Menace

This is a list of Star Wars Characters that in the time line, first appear in Episode I. Characters that first appear in the original trilogy will be included as is in order of when the films are set in the time line, not when they were released.
The Top Ten
1 Obi-Wan Kenobi Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, played by Sir Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor.

I thought he was better in the following movies but he was great here as well!

Obi-Wan is just awesome, and he is cool in this movie

2 Yoda Yoda is a fictional character in the Star Wars space opera franchise created by George Lucas, first appearing in the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back. He is portrayed by Frank Oz.

Although Yoda is barely in the movie, he is still my favourite character in the Star Wars saga

3 Qui-Gon Jinn Qui-Gon Jinn is a fictional character in the Star Wars saga, portrayed by Liam Neeson and is one of the main protagonists in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

Qui gon is my favourite character that is actually introduced in this movie. I really like his character and Liam Neeson is great

He's a great one! Master of Obi-Wan

4 R2-D2 R2-D2 or Artoo-Detoo is a fictional robot character in the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas, who appears in the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, and the sequel trilogy.

I like C-3PO more but I still like R2-D2 he is a useful character, I know that is a weird description, but that is what I think of him

5 Palpatine Sheev Palpatine (also known by his Sith identity Darth Sidious and publicly as Senator Palpatine, then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and later Emperor Palpatine) is a fictional character and one of the primary antagonists of the Star Wars franchise, mainly portrayed by Ian McDiarmid.

Palpatine is a great villain, even though it is not shown that much in the film

I'm not that big of a fan of him but he's cool

6 Darth Maul Darth Maul is a fictional character in the science fiction franchise Star Wars. Trained as Darth Sidious's first apprentice, he serves as a Sith Lord and a master of wielding a double-bladed lightsaber. Darth Maul debuted in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and has made subsequent appearances in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

In my opinion he is the best, his design is (you guessed it) awesomne and while he dosen't have any development and barely any lines, his design makes up for that

Maul is mainly on the list because of The Clone Wars, but his moments in the film are great

7 C-3PO C-3PO is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. A protocol droid, interpreter, and best friend of R2-D2, C-3PO was built by a young Anakin Skywalker, later serving alongside Anakin's children, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa. C-3PO appeared in each film of the Skywalker Saga, portrayed by Anthony Daniels

I've always preferred C-3PO to R2-D2 because he it is nice to see a coward in Star Wars, although he has had a fair share of heroic moments

His voice can get annoying but he's cool

8 Mace Windu Mace Windu is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, portrayed by actor Samuel L. Jackson in the prequel films.

Well yeah he was the only one who could beat Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith!

He is very cool in The Clone Wars and in the films too

9 Jar Jar Binks Jar Jar Binks is a fictional character from the Star Wars saga created by George Lucas. A major character in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, he also has a smaller role in Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and a one-line cameo in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The character has earned negative reception for his voice, his clumsiness and the fact that he can't take care of himself. He has earned a reputation of being one of the most hated characters in cinema.

One of the major reasons why people hate The Phantom Menace.

He was just comedy for the kids, a silly role.

I like him to be honest

Jar jar binks miss a

10 Plo Koon Plo Koon is a fictional Jedi Master who appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2014; 2020).

This one may be a weird choice because he is a background character in the films but is really cool in The Clone Wars

The Contenders
11 Anakin Skywalker Anakin Skywalker is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. He appears in the original trilogy as a main and pivotal antagonist serving the Galactic Empire, while his past as Anakin Skywalker and the story of his corruption are the focus of the prequel trilogy. Skywalker is portrayed by Jake Lloyd in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Hayden Christensen in Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. He is voiced by Matt Lanter in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
12 Padme Amidala Padmé Amidala is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, appearing in the prequel trilogy portrayed by actress Natalie Portman.

In the movies, Padme's only real purpose was to to be a love interest for Anakin, but in The Clone Wars(sorry if I'm mentioning The Clone Wars too much) she is generally a better character

She was decent

13 Ki-Adi-Mundi Ki-Adi-Mundi is a fictional Jedi Master in the Star Wars franchise who appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
14 Shmi Skywalker
