Top 10 Most Disappointing Star Wars Prequel Characters

The Top Ten
1 Jar Jar Binks Jar Jar Binks is a fictional character from the Star Wars saga created by George Lucas. A major character in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, he also has a smaller role in Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and a one-line cameo in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The character has earned negative reception for his voice, his clumsiness and the fact that he can't take care of himself. He has earned a reputation of being one of the most hated characters in cinema.

Heres a story: One time when I was at Disney World's Hollywood Studios, I was waiting in line at Star Tours. As me and my brother were getting in line, he jokingly said a looked like Jar Jar Binks. When a passed an animatronic with a screen, it detected me and said "Hey!, you remind me of someone, Jar Jar Binks! " I doubt that I actually look like Jar Jar, but that was still wicked hilarious.

He wasn't disappointing because the expectations for Jar Jar were already low. Nobody expected Jar Jar Binks to be a good character.

I'm anxiously awaiting for Jar Jar: A Star Wars Story, where he becomes the next Sith Lord and sets up the fourth trilogy.

Not really disappointing, though, we never had high expectations...

2 Boba Fett Boba Fett is a fictional character in the Star Wars series. In The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, he is a bounty hunter hired by Darth Vader and also employed by Jabba the Hutt.

If anyone is deserving of having a Star Wars Anthology film, hands down, my vote goes to Boba Fett. He was woefully underdeveloped in the prequels and we haven't even seen much of him in the Original Trilogy either. And considering the amount of fans he has, its safe to say Boba deserves some love and appreciation from the Star Wars team.

This character had basically no origin story and no good sub plot and served no purpose to the character.

I like him, they just never use him and they're never going to since they canceled his spin off movie

Having Boba Fett in the prequels was just fan service to 1980’s Star Wars fans. All he really did in the prequels is run out onto the battlefield (or arena) when his father’s head was cut off

3 General Grievous General Grievous is a fictional character and antagonist in the Star Wars franchise. He served as the Supreme Commander of the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Droid Armies during the Clone Wars. He is voiced by Matthew Wood.

I watched the Star Wars prequel before the clone wars series and was confused. I never heard of Grievous before, he wasn't introduced at all, he was just there. Well, the same goes for Darth Maul who was pretty forgettable and didn't really speak that much. But General Grievous just appeared in the last movie of the prequel series and then he died. You actually have to watch the Clone Wars T.V. show to learn something about him and that's a no go. If you take villains from the series who play a big role in the movie, at least you could show more of them in the movie so even those who didn't watch the series, will know who he is.

A character who was vital in the Clone Wars was in it for about 10 minutes before he died. No backstory.

Cool design, but such a boring character.

4 Anakin Skywalker Anakin Skywalker is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. He appears in the original trilogy as a main and pivotal antagonist serving the Galactic Empire, while his past as Anakin Skywalker and the story of his corruption are the focus of the prequel trilogy. Skywalker is portrayed by Jake Lloyd in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Hayden Christensen in Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. He is voiced by Matt Lanter in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Sure people hate Anakin, but the actor Jake Lloyd had so many problems. That he didn't deserve all that fanboy backlashing and being bullied so much. We must blame George Lucas for what he did to poor Jake. Hayden Christensen didn't do well. His performance sucked so harder than Jake's.

It is so obvious. I mean wow Lucas messed this up bad. The origins were awful and should have been darker. I saw him as an annoying 10 year old and then a brat.

Phantom Menace Anakin sucked and so did Attack of the Clones Anakin but Revenge of the Sith Anakin was amazing.-DarkBoi-X

It was predicted he would turn eventually.

5 Kit Fisto Kit Fisto is a Jedi from the Star Wars universe. A Nautolan Jedi, Kit Fisto appeared in Star Wars, Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge Of the Sith, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2014; 2020).
6 Yoda Yoda is a fictional character in the Star Wars space opera franchise created by George Lucas, first appearing in the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back. He is portrayed by Frank Oz.

No character development what so ever. He was basically the same as Mace Windu and we got no origin story. I hope for a Yoda movie.

I did like his wise personality.

What! How dare you!

7 Jango Fett Jango Fett is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, created by George Lucas. He made his debut in the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, where he was portrayed by actor Temuera Morrison.

This dude has so much potential

8 Plo Koon Plo Koon is a fictional Jedi Master who appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2014; 2020).

Easiest Jedi to beat

9 Aayla Secura Aayla Secura is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise portrayed by Amy Allen in the prequel trilogy.
10 Padme Amidala Padmé Amidala is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, appearing in the prequel trilogy portrayed by actress Natalie Portman.

Natalie Portman actually said Star Wars ruined her career interestingly, I wonder if the way her character was written was a reason as to why... - SailorSedna

This character whilst arguably the best in III, showed little struggle or interesting things about her in I or II

She is ugly dawg

The Contenders
11 Ki-Adi-Mundi Ki-Adi-Mundi is a fictional Jedi Master in the Star Wars franchise who appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

You barely see him in anything related to star wars

12 Saesee Tiin

Um...who is this guy?

Did he just die THAT QUICKLY?

13 Obi Wan Kenobi Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, played by Sir Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor.

This character was a bland padwan in Phantom Menace and McGregor did not do the character any justice.

What, this guy was awesome!

14 Count Dooku Count Dooku of Serenno, from the House of Dooku is a fictional character from the Star Wars franchise, appearing in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith as a primary and minor antagonist respectively. He was portrayed by Christopher Lee and voiced by Corey Burton in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Clone Wars.

He just said menacing things and flung a lightsaber around and was not a constructive villain.

Oh, you mean Count Dookie.

15 Shaak Ti Shaak Ti is a fictional Jedi Master who appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

This list is crap. Ok I respect your opinion, but in my opinion, the only character who deserves to be on here is Jar Jar. The reason I voted for Shaak Ti is because she doesn’t deserve to be on here and because she had an important role to play to bring back the Jedi Order. On the night of Order 66, she made a holocron and inside it she wrote a simple message and some Jedi teachings. Years later, Luke found this holocron and it supposedly played a part in bringing back the Jedi Order. There were 2 deleted scenes from Episode III in which she dies, one with Grievous killing her, and another with Anakin killing her. The one with Anakin killing her is the canon one, but for some reason they cut it out.

16 Jabba's Snacks
17 Mace Windu Mace Windu is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, portrayed by actor Samuel L. Jackson in the prequel films.

A jedi who could have a backstory and in the fact he was not a vital character proved his downfall as he just fought. Like Yoda.

18 Jabba the Hutt Jabba the Hutt is a fictional character from the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. He is depicted as a large, slug-like alien. Jabba the Hutt first appeared on screen in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, and was featured in the special edition of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
19 Commander Cody
20 Darth Maul Darth Maul is a fictional character in the science fiction franchise Star Wars. Trained as Darth Sidious's first apprentice, he serves as a Sith Lord and a master of wielding a double-bladed lightsaber. Darth Maul debuted in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and has made subsequent appearances ...read more.

Darth Maul was so popular, that the franchise acknowledged the disappointment of the fans and bought him back on T.V. shows set after The Phantom Menace. The result: Maul was given more character and personality and in the end, got a second film role in Solo.

Also, because of this Maul has actually become one of the most complex and interesting characters in the Star Wars franchise.

He's got an interesting enough design, and an original, if gimmicky, lightsaber, but he's ultimately boring and bland.

He is a great character. My dissapointment lies with the fact that he was not the main villain of the trilogy.

They keep bringing him back just for fan-service

21 Qui Gon

One of the best prequel characters, very well written and the fact he did not get a proper origin story dissapointed me personally.

22 Barriss Offee Barriss Offee is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. Offee was a member of the Jedi Order, and served as the Padawan of Luminara Unduli. However, Offee later betrayed the Jedi Order, framing her friend Ahsoka Tano for bombing the Jedi Temple. In Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, she is portrayed by Nalini Krishan, and is voiced by Meredith Salenger in The Clone Wars.
23 Qi’ra

I thought she was only shown in Solo: A Star Wars Story...

Who the heck is this

24 Nute Gunray Nute Gunray is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, appearing in the prequel trilogy and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Gunray served as the Viceroy of the Trade Federation and was a member of the Separatist Council.
