I've never read the manga so, I have no idea what that red is like, but I have watched origins. I still think red could beat gold if he whipped out mewtwo or any of them legendary pokemon
People say gold beat red. That was a game where red was computer who knows nothing while gold was player. If that battle was competitive red eats gold in his dinner
Red is the best.He actually beat Mewtwo by using only his Mega Charizard X.He can also beat the whole team rocket all by himself.He is probably the strongest Pokemon trainer in the world.
Why is Red number 1? He's no stronger than any other game protagonists. They're all just versions of you the player.
Ash Ketchum, known as Satoshi in Japan, is a fictional main character in the Pokémon franchise owned by Nintendo. Ash is training to be a Pokemon Master, with his buddy Pikachu. Ash tries to stop the evil Team Rocket from stealing his Pikachu. What?! I truly think he's pretty bad as a trainer. Sure, a good protagonist in the show, but he would've been crushed by anyone who has any knowledge of the games.
Who cares if he didn't win an official league after 20 years? He still won the Orange League and Kanto Battle Frontier. He also did things that no trainer had ever done before.
I think I would set no.2 as steven as he is champion and has Metagross That can mega evolve..And don't forget he can defeat Alan while ash can't.
Cynthia is literally the best trainer, champion and best trainer in the anime... In the anime.. She has never been defeated. She was still champion when we last saw her.. Tobias lost to one of the elite four or her or Tobias would have shown up as the Sinnoh league Champion.. She is literally the hardest npc to battle too because she battles like an actual person.. She switches pokemon when shes at a disadvantage... She battles smart.. And I was horrified but also I give game freak a well played for making her part of super battle tree in USUM.. Her Garchomp almost swept me so I had to come backs and beat her. Using only a Celesteela.
Cynthia is just so far the best pokemon trainer and the champion! of course, she along with her mighty garchomp can take down anyone, in the anime while she was shown battling she just so took every challenge so seriously and fight with a free and ignited spirit..naah she was not even ever close to defeat she won all the battles she had in the anime #CYNTHIA_THE_CHAMPION @THE_BEST
Regardless if it's the anime or the games, she's overpowered. Her team is way too strong and can counter any type.

The fact that Tobias caught a Darkrai, which Ash spent an entire movie struggling with automatically puts him above Ash, and Tobias destroyed Ash's team with only two pokemon.

Steven is the Hoenn champion and almost beat Alain until Lysandre interupted. Alain is number 6 and he beat Ash who is number2. I think Steven should be number2 if not number 1

Ghetsis Harmonia, or simply Ghetsis, is the main antagonist in Pokemon Black and White and the direct sequels, as well as the adoptive father of N, Concordia, and Athea.
Ok. I have to admit, Alain would only fall as number 3, above Tobias and Ash, but under Red and Cynthia. What truly makes him one of, if not, the strongest Pokemon trainer in the anime is his consistent feats of power, like survive intense battling with Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre and even Mega Rayquaza.
Ok Alain is my fave XYZ character he is so powerful and he helped stop the giant rock from coming into contact with the sundial that scene made me mad but happy even though I love Lysander still hate team flare even though Lysander is my baby lol
I know charizard is overrated but still every time I see it is so cool
He is sooo strong. Other than beating Ash in the Kolos Leage and winning the finals,with his charazrd X, he is one of the strongest Pokemon trainer I have seen.
Y a s~ My strongest trainer among girls in the whole series boise. Her & Gradevoir has such a wonderful bond with each other! The way Gardevoir dodges attacks via eye contact with Diantha is very unique. Diantha is very beautiful too! OwO

His infernape is the only pokemon in the anime that gave a tough competetion to cynthia's garchomp.
Caitlin barely survives due to time limit.
He was in my opinion better then even red because he got 16 gym badges became champion of kanto/jhoto cleaned up reds mess and truly took out team Rocket helped silver (rival in silver and gold) became a great trainer and care for his Pokemon. And oak told him to go to mount silver knowing he would defeat red and bring him back to his senses (technicaly he doesn’t beat red however because they never state he comes back form mount silver and there was no Witnesses of the battle due to red leaving and gold supposedly staying in mount silver after the event)
I say gold and for good reason number one ash sucks and can't win anything two he defeated all of the same gym leaders like red in Kanto and also jhoto defeated the elite four also took down team rocket like red also beat lance a champion blue a former champion and then even beat red in the end which means he is the strongest.
Yeah he battled red in the game but if it were for real I don't think he'll win against red but he defeated team rocket, got 2 as much badges as red and of course caught legendaires. And explored Johto and Kanto so I think he is a very good opponent and trainer. Maybe even the strongest but who knows...

Professor Kukui is a fictional character introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon. He is a Pokémon Professor from the Alola region, as well as the founder of Alola's Pokémon League. He was a pain is the butt to defeat in the Pokemon league but that's just my personal experience I agree that Cynthia is much stronger

Korrina is a fictional character in the Pokémon Series as the Shalour City Gym leader in the XY series, in the anime she's a cheerful girl with a explosive personality she has a Lucario who she raised and grew up with from when it was a Riolu, she was later tasked by her grandfather Gurkinn with finding the elusive Lucarionite which would allow for her Lucario to mega evolve. Korrina is so strong. No wonder she one 100 battles in a row.

Gary oak appeared in the anime series in seasons 1-5 . He was ash's rival and childhood friend . Though they had a dispute once they fought over a rusty pokeball they wanted for luck, which broke after they fought over it . Gary was the grandson of professor oak . He had cheerleaders & his own car. There where a lot of things he did to irritate ash, such as write things addressing ash, to picking on him . After he lost to ash at the Johto league, he decided to be a Pokemon researcher ... even though he always beat ash afterwords when they battled .
