Top Ten Strongest Sixth Generation Pokemon

The Top Ten
1 Xerneas Xerneas is a fictional creature in the Pokemon Franchise. Introduced in Gen 6, it is a legendary Fairy type Pokemon, and the mascot of Pokemon X. Classified as the Life Pokemon, Xerneas has the ability to give eternal life, which occurs when the horns on its head shine in seven lights. When its life ...read more.

I dislike Xerneas simply for the reason that fairy types threw the game off balance. We already had ice types to kill dragons, and fighting types had enough weaknesses already. They also took the fun out of catching dragon-types, knowing that even though they looked cool, they no longer had the natural ability to kick butt. Now, this change might have been okay had fairy types looked as cool as dragons did, but instead we got a bunch of re-typed normal Pokemon and weird floating things.

Yveltal may be better (to me), and they may have even base stat totals, but Fairy beats Dark. It's immune to Dragon moves and only has two weaknesses.

Fairy is the best competitive type thanks to super effective it's to really strong types like fighting and dragon plus one Geomancy if you have power herb will destroy everything

It may be true that fairy types look weird, but Xerneas is an exception. Xerneas is the best

2 Yveltal Yveltal is a fictional creature in the Pokemon Franchise. Introduced in the 6th gen, Yveltal is a legendary Dark/Flying type Pokemon, and is the mascot of Pokemon Y. It is classified as the Destruction Pokemon. Yveltal has the ability to absorb life energy, and when its life comes to an end, it steals all the life energy of every living thing around it before transforming into a cocoon to sleep for... read more

In my opinion Xerneas is way better if used properly, but a good Yveltal trainer can probably take out an Xerneas before/during geomancy. Yveltal isn't a bad Pokemon, as its movepool is pretty decent, but I prefer Xerneas probably because Geomancy can wipe a whole party.
However I did recently recieve a level 100 Yveltal over wonder trade. Will definitely make room for him in the team.

Yveltal can destroy ALL CREATION. It's as if he is the opposite Arceus, yet then Xernias can give life and Zygardw balances them... These guys should be brothers of Arceus, along with the creation trio and the mew duo!

Yveltal is better than Xerneas. Yveltal is the death eagle and Xerneas is just a life deer. Xerneas is a good Pokemon too and has a type advantage over Yveltal but Yveltal is better.

3 Aegislash Aegislash is a fictional creature in the Pokemon Franchise. Introduced in Gen 6, it is a Steel/Ghost Pokemon. It is the evolved form of Doublade, and the final evolve form of Honedge. Classified as the Royal Sword Pokemon, it is said to detect innate qualities of leadership. According to legend, anyone ...read more.

In my opinion it really deserves number 1 or 2 with yveltal but really? WHY IS XERNEAS THERE! Anyways it is really good competitively, it is a floating ghost sword and looks very cool shiny or not

Wait a minute... Shadow Sneak, Swords Dance, Kings Shield and Sacred Sword? THAT'S ALMOST EXACTLY MY AEGISLASH! (Mine has shadow claw instead of shadow sneak, I'll switch the two once I get back to X).

If you can predict if the opponent is using a move on you, on its team or is switching out. you're unstoppable with this Pokemon.

Swords Dance. Shadow Sneak. Predictable, but good enough.

4 Goodra Goodra is a fictional creature in the Pokemon franchise. Introduced in the 6th gen, Goodra is a Dragon type Pokemon. It is the evolved form of Sliggoo and the final evolved form of Goomy. Classified as the Dragon Pokemon, Goodra is a very slimy, yet affectionate Pokemon, and likes to hug its trainers, ...read more.

Great Pokemon, it has good stats, yes, even it's speed isn't that bad. It has some good move sets to be played with. Both attack stats are great to use with 100 and 110. So you could use Draco meteor or go for outrage. Maybe you want to do the thunder rest rain dance strategy. Who knows. Also gooey and counter cover for it's mediocre defense stat. And it's sp. Defense is amazing, I have a sassy goodra and he takes sp. Attacks like a pro. Also it's just my favorite gen 6 Pokemon. It may seem like I'm being biased but I would really like it all that much if it weren't good. Even some of my favorites like dunsparce have their uses that make them some of my favorites. Now I'll flat out say Yveltal is the strongest. But that's a legendary, of course it's gonna be strong, right regigigas? Well most of the time. But if we're going to just have standard Pokemon, goodra is probably the best, yes, even greninja and aegislash, who are in uber, aren't stronger the goodra. Simply because you'll ...more

Being my Sp. Defense tank and my overall favorite and most powerful party Pokémon, Goodra tops most any non-legendary dragon-type out there, and since many of dragon's weaknesses are primarily speacial attacking types like fairy and ice, it's heightened Sp. Defense is a huge advantage. Goodra's moveset has a variety in types of powerful moves such as Sludge Wave, Outrage, and Power Whip, all valuable in single and multi-Pokémon battles. Aesthetically, Goodra might not be the most appealing to some veteran players and "genwunners", but I myself adore Goodra's design, depite being a player of Pokémon for almost 7 years now. The design is seen as being related to a sea slug or invertibrate from the ocean. The dragon-type in the evolutionary family of Goomy isn't seen until Goodra, but we could easily tell what type Goodra would be by looking at the name and design. Also being a teenage girl, I have a soft spot for cute things, so Goodra's adorable smile, big eyes, and cute chubbyness ...more

Hydration Goodra with Rest and Thunder. Just get something to set up a Rain Dance (Goodra itself can do this, but it's better to give it more attacking moves) and you can be the best bulky sweeper out there.

That SP definitely is so god damn high! Plus if you give him an assault vest its even more bulky! Give him max invested Sp definitely and a positve Sp definitely nature and you can just dragon pulse any SP Atk Pokemon forever (you know unless its fairy but he gets other moves as well! )

5 Mega Blastoise

You understand that this shouldn't be here, because it is gen 1. Even if the mega was introduced in gen 6, the core mon is a gen 1 mon. Also, it doesn't have much against a common theat of blissey or eviolite chansey. It is susceptible to being baited. Helioisk, chesnaught, M-amphoros, and specs energy ball chandelure are all counters, which ironically, are in UU with it.

It's a mega so it rocks. Also it can defeat both the mega evolutions of charizard

Go kill urself chesnaught fans he's a damn slaking gone grass type and learned how to use p90x

My favorite Pokemon evur

10 alakazam

9 darmanitan

8 zebstrika

7 yvetal

6 arceus

5 ditto

4 charizard

3 raichu

1 BLLAAASTTOOIIISSSEHIEE MEGA

6 Zygarde Zygarde, known in Japan as the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Zygarde looked pretty useless to me when I finally ended up catching one, I nicknamed him "Whatisthis" because I hated him so much. I rarely used him until one day, Zygarde was the last in my party. I thought I was doomed when I started using him, but Zygarde actually won. Then I realized it could change forms, and then I started using him wayy more often

Zygarde to me is my favorite Pokemon

Rather better version of Garchomp

A worse version of garchomp.

7 Mewtwo Mewtwo is a psychic-type Legendary Pokémon from Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon media franchise. Designed by Ken Sugimori, it made its first appearance in the games Pokémon Red and Blue. It was created by Dr. Fuji using gene splicing in an attempt to clone Mew. In the Pokémon games, it's infamously known as the most powerful Pokémon among all species. Mewtwo is capable of evolving into two forms - Mega Mewtwo X (using Mewtonite X) and Mega Mewtwo Y (using Mewtonite Y)

Dude, I've been looking for a kick ass Mewtwo for a year and I don't care if it's from gen 1...

Mewtwo is the boss! But he was introduced in Generation One. Silly People!

It can tackle nearly any problem what Aura Sphere, plus the STAB boost.

This guy doesn't know his gens

8 Greninja Greninja is a Water/Dark type Pokemon introduced in Gen 6. It is the evolved form of Frogadier and the final evolved form of the water starter Froakie. Aside from the usual Torrent ability all Water starters have (Which raises the power of its Water moves), it also has the ability Protean, which changes ...read more.

I don't understand why people are saying charizard is better then greninja I know type advantage has went out the window but Greninja can still win a against charizard I 1 hit ko a charizard with an uneffective move called ice beam. My greninja doesn't even have protien but he can still beat legendaries and also dark is strong against physic and u know who is a physic type... Mewtwo and who beat Mewtwo really easaly in pokemon origans mega charizard x and who almost beat a mega evolved charizard in the kalos battle last time... grefreakinninja. since ash is kinda of stupid for using one of greninja weakest water type moves (water shurigan) and also not asking him to jump really high over the dang blastburn instead of letting a pokemon with low defense and high speed just get hit he is the fastest pokemon in the world I'm pregtty sure he can dogde a blastburn... come on now Ash

Dude Greninja kicks ass! He has the highest speed stat against all starters from gen 1 to 7 and with the battle bond ability he's a boss

SO GOOD I MADE ASH THEME TEAM AND BATTLE BOND ROCKS! if you make one of your Pokemon use false swipe and then switch in and damage then switch out

Amazing. he can already take down fires, now he can take down grass with ice beam. if he isn't on your team, that sucks

9 Mewtwo Y

So badass this epic Mewtwo is pretty awesome

It can levitate and it looks so epic

Special attack odd the charts. And it can cover its own weaknesses
Bug- ice beam
Dark- aura sphere

HE LOOKS so cool I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THE "HEADPHONES"

Ugh...
Ice neutral hits bug.
And sucker punch can 1HKO it. Remember that M-kang is in ubera and is very common then you can think about your justification of it here except being a noob

10 Charizard Charizard, known in Japan as Lizardon, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Created by Ken Sugimori, Charizard first appeared in the video games Pokémon Red and Blue and subsequent sequels. They have later appeared in various merchandise, spinoff titles and animated ...read more.

Charizard the best mega evolve Pokemon

True its strong but it's a gen 1 Pokemon...

He came in generation 1 guys. -_-

Think they meant Mega Charizard Y.

The Contenders
11 Noivern Noivern, known in Japan as Onvern, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

It is a badass dragon Wyvern bat with huge epic sound cup things that look so cool

Too bad that Noivern and Yveltal and some other Pokemon have a portion of their fanbase being a bunch of fangirls creating amie strip comics on DeviantART

Noivern is pretty good. Its only problem is its not very good at taking hits

Mine got OHKO'ed by thunderbolt from goodra at full health

Otherwise its over powered

Mine knows draco meteor you turn hurricane and psychic noivern is even awesome enough to be used by the elite 4

Put some cool glasses on it like Choice Specs and kill with Boomburst, Dark Pulse, Flamethrower and sometimes DROP A DRACO.

12 Talonflame Talonflame is a dual-type Fire/Flying Pokémon introduced in the Pokémon franchise's sixth generation. It evolves from Fletchinder and is known for its swift and graceful flight. Talonflame's signature move, Brave Bird, showcases its daring and fearless nature in battles. Its fiery plumage and aerial prowess contribute to its role as a popular and powerful Pokémon.

Fire And Flying. Should be a legendary like Moltres.

I also have shiny talonflame, and it wrecks house

Gale Wings Talonflame... WHY SO AWESOME?

I hAve shiny talonflame

13 Gogoat Gogoat is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI of the Pokémon series. It is categorized as the Mount Pokémon. It evolves from Skiddo.

Gogoat is awesome once you surf on him. It covers his weaknesses and allows you to surf on water

Gogoat us underrated. He is very good

Gogoat is so underrated, honestly it's sad. It has above average attack, good defense and decent speed. It has an amazing move pool with moves like Earthquake, rock slide, Wild charge and his STAB move Horn Leech that cover it's few weaknesses. I have one nicknamed GogoatGadget and he is a force to be reckoned with! :D

HE HAS TOTAL POWER he should be higher on this list HE'S A BEAST

14 Avalugg Avalugg is an Ice-type Pokémon introduced in the Pokémon franchise's sixth generation. It evolves from Bergmite and is characterized by its massive, glacier-like body. Avalugg's thick ice armor provides it with impressive defensive capabilities. Its design and icy attributes reflect its habitat in cold environments, and it serves as a symbol of endurance in battles.

A alugg has one of the best Defense of all Pokemon but still has decent speed. My Avalugg was hit by a Outrage from Dragonite and it hardly lost any health

Avalugg is awesome I had one it was a amazing Pokemon it was 7 levels lower than my charizard and it had more hp than my charizard

15 Delphox Delphox, known in Japan as Mahoxy, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

U guys are crazy. Delphox it AWESOME. Only theses moves are the ones my Delphox has : Fire blast Blast burn mystical fire fire pledge. A physic fire rules!

Oh yeah. This is the best of the Gen 6 starters. I didn't get into Pokemon until gen 6, and Foxyy, my Delphox, was my very first Pokemon in a main game.

Juggernaut knight is pretty good but magic fox is better

16 Florges Florges, known in Japan as the same name, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Florges is actually the 5'th strongest Pokemon from Gen 6. Its base statsare 552!

17 Aurorus Aurorus, known in Japan as Amaruruga, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Heck yes, do not use the jaw fossil, dang it can learn some great moves but you can't beat Aurorus. My favourite Pokemon on my team, and I have a Chesnaught, Garchomo, Lucario, Blastoise and a Sylveon, but nothing can beat my Aurorus

When you have a 4x weakness to fighting and steel, and bullet punch and mach punch are very common, this isn't justified being this high.

The best of the 2 fossil Pokémon and has a amazing hp and decent special attack too.

18 Chesnaught Chesnaught, known in Japan as Brigarron, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Chesnaught is so cool I kicked the champions butt so many times with this beast!

A juggernaut knight... How can you miss that?

Underrated and spiky shield is boss!

I have him and chespin

19 Barbaracle Barbaracle is a dual-type Rock/Water Pokémon introduced in the Pokémon franchise's sixth generation. It evolves from Binacle and is known for its rugged appearance and multiple limbs. Barbaracle's hands can detach and move independently, giving it a distinctive and versatile combat style. Its Rock and Water typing offers a mix of offensive and defensive options in battles.

Normally, this design would be pretty derpy, but the instant I saw barbaracle, I fell in love with its design. He looks like a BEAST.

20 Meowstic

This is my all time favourite Pokemon. It can learn disarming voice, which can take down dark types. It's key for against team flare. This Pokemon is amazing and amazingly cute.

I appreciate you appraising bae and all, but meowstic wasnt #1, and you said espurr is better. FOR SHAME. Its cute, its OP, its loyal, its friendly, its needlessly nerdy and smart, and that is all the attributing qualities of life. #meowsticislyfe!

How is the pre evolution better and meowstics speed is great and learns fake out

What can I say its cute and strong!

21 Pyroar Pyroar is a Pokémon species introduced in the Pokémon franchise's sixth generation. It is a Fire/Normal-type Pokémon known for its regal appearance and gender-based evolution. Male Pyroar have majestic manes, while females have a more streamlined look. Its design and abilities make it a notable addition to the roster of Fire-type Pokémon.

The fiery mane makes it so awesome and with all the 'Pyroar King' art, it is definitely the hero over Luxray.

Your right dude and I have a limited edition pyroar foil

It's a lion, you can't get much cooler than a lion.

Pyroar is a total winner

22 Clawitzer Clawitzer is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in the Pokémon franchise's sixth generation. It evolves from Clauncher and is known for its distinctive claw-like cannon. Clawitzer can launch powerful water-based attacks from its cannon, making it a formidable opponent in battles. Its design and abilities emphasize its aquatic nature and offensive capabilities.
23 Espurr Espurr, known in Japan as Nyasper, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

So creepy it's cute!

24 Hawlucha Hawlucha, known in Japan as Luchabull, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Hawlucha's typing gives him fewer weaknessess. Flying Press allows Hawlucha to attack with both, flying AND fighting powers simultaneously. Honestly, he should be higher up on this list

25 Tyrantrum Tyrantrum, known in Japan as Gachigoras, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

It's a T bleeping Rex. About time we got one. And he annihilates everything! (Except Ice and Mr. Crockers favorite type FAIRIES! )

Tyrantrum is a good choice in fire types.
