A list of anime characters who want to kill themselves, usually out of guilt and/or depression. Most of the time, these are characters with a terrible past with a lot of sufferings.
Osamu Dazai (太宰 治, Dazai Osamu?) is a major character in the manga and anime series, Bungou Stray Dogs and a member of the Armed Detective Agency and former executive of the underworld organization, the Port Mafia. Of course! Who else can be first other than this suicidal maniac? His favourite song is "You Can't Commit Double Suicide Alone" and his motto is: " Have a pure, cheerful and energetic suicide."! He has had a lot of suicidal attempts in the series, none of which has worked, apparently.
Why wouldn't he be number one?

Zeref Dragneel is a character from the anime/manga series, Fairy Tail, created by Hiro Mashima. He debuted in chapter 200 of the manga, and episode 96 in the anime. In Fairy Tail, Zeref is considered to be the strongest Dark Wizard of all time, who was under the Curse of Contradiction. He is the founder and Emperor of the Alvarez Empire, under the alias of Emperor Spriggan. He is the older brother of Natsu Dragneel and the father of August. Zeref don't deserve all whet happen to him when he get curse.
Everyone who had a past like his would turn suicidal.
Especially if they were immortal.

One of the protagonist in the 2016 anime Trickster. Death is his main goal throughout a majority of the first season of the 24 episode series but because of a seemingly mysterious forcefield around him that he is unable to control, his body is impermeable. This is shown in the first episode as he tries to commit suicide from jumping from a building and a few other methods with no success.

In the story, Kakashi is the teacher of Team 7, consisting of the series' primary characters, Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno. I mean this guy would protect his squad with his life and almost had his hand chopped off trying to save naruto from zabuza (sorry for typos)
